What did YOU think of the trailer?! NGL guys, I am HYPE for this film. The PUNCH was legit. Also, the Japanese trailer is even better. You should check it out: ruclips.net/video/TVB_eWCfMV4/видео.htmlsi=BiCYnaObD1q5NYKf
I said it in the official trailer and I'll say it here... I have a (little) hope that Beren, the steward of Gondor, who was the greatest hero of this time apears in this film saving the rohirrim, and later, Beren will marry with Hera at the end of the film so that maintained Tolkien's message about the friendship of Gondor and Rohan
I must admit I'm not a fan of the anime style and if I didn't know about the makers of the movie and it's context this trailer wouldn't have got me hyped. But since I'm obviously aware of who the makers are and the context I'm looking forward to watching it. However, at the moment I'm looking much more forward to watching Rings of Power season 2 very soon. That I can't wait for because the trailer looked much more interesting than season 1 although it also had a fair share of great moments. More live action Peter Jackson LOTR movies are of course the dream. Keep up the great work, you good nerd!
Please read all of my description below: If people liked the movies, then they never read the books. The books are better than the movies usually. I forgot to mention, Also Gandalf should have not left the group at anytime. The lake-town scene should have been The Dwarves and Bilbo were hosted, rested and pampered before being sent with boats to the ruins of Dale to confront the dragon. There should have not been any conversation with Bard the bowman. The lake-town scene should not be long, if it’s too long, it gets boring. There should have not been Dol Guldur. The Necromancer should not have existed in the Hobbit story. Gandalf should have not left the group at anytime. Gandalf should not leave the group at anytime because it’s not good for the story. Also the music at the beginning of the Hobbit movie should not be in the movie because it was boring. There should be no music at the beginning of the Hobbit movie but only the over the misty mountain song as the dwarves were sitting in the hearth.
You were right. The Japanese trailer is indeed better with extra small details in it. For example, it had a scene in which it appears to be the coronation of fréaláf with the arrival of saruman. And may I say the white wizard looks pretty good in his animated form. So detailed! Don't you guys agree?
Am glad he dint live long to see legacy of theoden and his ancestry ruined ...justice for king frealof from whom theoden came ..it was frealof who saved Rohan not Helga ..without the heroism theoden nor his ancestors ever become king
@@prodigalfraudaddy-es1gl The movie isn't out right? we can't judge it all the way frealof could be here too but not as the main character as obviously Hammerhand is still alive and kicking at this point making the Hild family literal side characters during this event.
@@prodigalfraudaddy-es1gl Yes, I'm sure Bernard Hill would have been devastated to see a woman given a prominent role in a Rohan story. Nothing like that has ever happened in any stories of the Rohirrim that he was involved in... 🤔
That war cry speech in return of the king still brings tears to my eyes. Knowing that he was going to die. Man I'm tearing up right now just thinking about it. Amazon made a big mistake not letting PJ being involved with this show. This looks very epic.

You mentioned in the books Wulf takes 4 years to retaliate. In the scene where Helm punches out Freca, Wulf has no facial here. When the next scene comes with Hera and Wulf speaking, he has facial hair. So it looks like some time does pass in between and thats our visual indicator.
I saw that yeah, I am sure they will not have any mention of a 4 year jump, likely just leaving it a bit ambiguous but nice to see that there will be some sign of time passing.
@@AstroPC96 I was thinking that's exactly what should happen while he was getting punched. I was so satisfied when Helm struck back and absolutely laid the dude out. I'm sure he died rather than being knocked out due to personal health reasons. They guy wasn't that well looking.

I don't think I am very stoked about Hera being the main character. 1.) Her most important contribution in the books is basically being the reason why Helm receives his name due to the marriage offer, so putting her above Helm's sons and nephew who we actually know did stuff in the war feels to me like they just really wanted a female lead for the movie no matter if it really made sense or not. 2.)I think Hera will feel too much like Eowyn, which could end up deminishing both of their achievements since it would be less special for them to pick up the "masculine" roles and tasks while forsaking their orders to stay out of danger, since it would no longer be a unique thing. 3.) I was just so hyped that we would get Helm that I really hoped he would be the main character. Ever since I first read Erkenbrand's strength as a Warrior being directly related to Hammerhand like the absolute legend he is I wanted to see more about him, not to mention Helm's Deep putting him even if only by name into one of the biggest moments in the LotR.
we are living in the era of girl boss who needs no man. what did you expect? it is a pass for me, Eowyn was a great character and fits perfectly in the setting of LOTR. here? its just cheap excuse to women empowerment, or i may be wrong and it is actually good, but due to how entertainment is handling this themes this days i doubt it.
Modern progressive filmmakers cannot successfully bring Tolkien to the screen anymore, because Tolkien's work is inherently anti-progressive. It is so deeply rooted in Christianity and ancient myths of heroic ages long past, that any attempt to make it "progressive" (as these filmmakers cannot help but attempt to do) erases everything that made Tolkien's works what they are.
One slight disappointment in the design, it looks like they did not take the opportunity to fix what was, imo, one of the only slight misgivings I had with Peter Jackson's design in the movies. That being the fact that none of the cities of men have any civilization beyond the walls of the city. It does make you wonder where the cities are getting their food and how much they can really be populated, etc. It feels less realistic without it and I wish they would make what seems to be a simple fix.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but I’m replaying Shadow of War and found an interesting connection to the short section of this trailer where an orc seems to be collecting rings. In the Minas Ithil section of the game you find a Gondorian artifact that is a ring, and the narration accompanying it says, “The orcs are obsessed with rings, more so than coins or jewelry of equal value. They snatch them from prisoners immediately, and what happens to these rings is anyone’s guess. We rarely find orcs actually wearing them.” Thought it was interesting!
The name Hèra is a problem and likely one Tolkien would have hated. On the Wikipedia page for the film, it suggests that the name came from an Icelandic actress: “The first name suggested for the character did not start with 'H', but Boyens felt it should start with the same letter as Helm, Haleth, and Hama. She asked Walsh for ideas, and the latter suggested naming her after Hera Hilmar, the Icelandic actress who starred in their film Mortal Engines (2018).” We can assume that Walsh thought the name was Scandinavian because Hera Hilmar is from Iceland. However, there is no evidence that it is a traditional Scandinavian name; in fact, it is Greek, derived from the goddess Hera. As I mentioned, this is a mistake that Tolkien would have likely hated. As a philologist, he was incredibly careful with names and their origins.
@@sevzapkino I said it is a word not a name. But it is still anglo-saxon though. And no I can't reference that because youtube doesn't let me post links. Search for Rohirric/Anglo-Saxon dictionary.
I believe Hera is modeled after the greek goddess Hera. Hera here in anime form has wonderfully full and shapely breasts, and the goddess has the same. In fact, the Milky Way is purported to have been formed by milk spraying from her breasts when she pulled a child away after having bitten her nipple. Also, the pomegranate is an emblem of Hera-and pomegranates are a reference to breasts.
I'm definetly excited to see this, but I have to say that when the focus of the trailer shifted to Hera being the main protagonist, it felt like the vibe went from Tolkien to Disney princess.
Same for me. I like Eowyn but there was no warrior-girls in the story of Helm Hammerhand, let alone as the main character. Why do they meddle with the original story? Ugh.
I don't mind Hera as a main character but am very worried it's going to come at a cost to some of the characters and story moments I wanted to see from the original story
From a story and narrative perspective it makes sense as the conflict does revolve around her. However it would be nice to see her play a role similar to Eowyn where she is important and matters a lot, but doesn't in the slightest overshadow Helm Hammerhand. I really hope this story maintains the Tolkien portrayal of strong women and not the modern Hollywood bs.

@@patrickleonard4187 Hera isn't even named in the lore. That's not a different interpretation, that's a complete invention for the movie. I don't mind good characters in adaptations that aren't 100% faithful to the lore, but this isn't to make her a better character. They're doing this so they can have a woman lead.
It's like remaking LoTR and having it all about Frodo's sister, who does nothing but call Frodo stupid and Sam a coward whilst she is slaying legions of orcs on her own.
He's in like 50% of the trailer, obviously present throughout most of the movie, seems to have all his big moments and is treated like a legendary figure. Go cry about it.
*Curious why they didn't focus on Helm or Hama, heck even Haleth (who we know a reasonable amount of, especially the former) instead of creating a virtually new character given we know nothing (not even a name) with his daughter? ~ We'd had created characters from Lurtz and Tauriel before, but never as a main character ~ Don't believe this was a wise decision, as it sets a dangerous precedent ~*
I had no idea this was happening! I was just thinking the other day how cool a cartoon of the Rangers of the North would be, maybe they can do a lot of these.
My cousin introduced me to loTR when I was young. We watched the Fellowship of the Ring in the theater when it came out, and he was literally in tears at the end. I felt similar, but I don't have real human emotions so.... but anyway, I felt the hope for that real emotion again with this trailer.
According to the lore, there are also unnumbered lesser rings made before the three, seven, and nine. So it's quite plausible for the Rohirrim to have a lesser ring or two, perhaps from Scatha's hoard.
Doesn't Gandalf say something about lesser magical rings, not even in relation to shared creations by Sauron and Celebrimbor? It's why in The Hobbit his suspicion of Bilbo's ring is minor, even with the rewrite of The Hobbit after LOTR had been published
I'm wondering if the foul hand is a servant of Saruman, who has started taking an interest in lesser rings. That would actually be plausible in the canon.
@@telleroftheone Sure that could plausibly fit the timeline. But if that character was found out by the film's characters as a connection to Saruman, it would make his eventual betrayal 200 years later less logical. Rohan would have changed their relations with him if they learnt of his unhealthy interest and connections to Mordor, and that doesn't reflect the state of affairs by the time of the War of the Ring

I must say that the first half of trailer was absolutely brilliant. However, then the focus shifted to Helms unnamed daughter who seems to be a main character and that really really worries me. I was hoping to see the story of legendary Hammerhand not his daughter who is going to be the best at everything.
I do not understand, there is this repeated often that she will be the best at everything and slay legions on her own and all that. But we have seen her running away from at least one enemy, and in one duel we don't see the end of. I think you guys just have a negative to seeing a woman, I'll be honest.
I’ve always thought that animation would be a great medium for Tolkien adaptations, and i would take that over a CGI heavy, marvel-esque blockbuster any day. However, i dont get why they decided to go with the anime aesthetic. I think a more western animation style would have suited the story much better. I gotta admit, this trailer looked way better than i expected, and now im pretty excited for the film.
This is beautiful. When seeing the live action images I have the theory that Miranda Otto will not only be the narrator of this story but at the beginning or end we will see Eowen in a transition identical to the one we see in the trailer. Greetings from Porto Portugal.
One thing to remember is the fortress wasn’t named helm’s deep yet. At the time the whole area was named the deeping comb and it was after the war with the dunlandings that the Rohirrim named the fortress after their king.
I'm glad that the people behind this honor the costumes of the Jackson films, they keep it familiar based on what the audience already knows. Furthermore, it is SO cool that this is in anime style. I'm confident that Kenji Kamiyama has what it takes to not only direct this story, but hopefully others in the future, very excited to see this. Also is their anything related to the music in the background from the trailer? Is it still Howard Shore? Or someone different?
The Hammerhand section was great. What is it with heroines climbing icy cliff faces? Was excited until I saw this and Hera saying she should be feared, gave off RoP vibes. I hope her story is good, please give her actual adversity, don't just let her ride around Rohan solving everyone's problems.
I watch a lot of anime, and one thing that has really relieved me is how good the horses look. Usually in anime there's some weird, almost robotic thing going on with the horses. I'm glad that they got it right for a story set in Rohan.
It even has a "climb an icy mountain with blades" scene. What bigger red flag - assuming you even get past "replacing the hero with is daughter" - than a Rings of Prime copy does one need to drop this?^
Look, all I'm saying is that Helm being a Nazgul in SoW might make absolutely no sense, but I don't care, it was so stupid it was cool. Also, really glad we're getting some more fleshed out characters in this story. I've loved this tale since I watched your videos on it, and I am really hoping Helm gets inducted into the "Popular Lord of the Rings Characters" hall of fame!
Is anybody wondering why her hair is red, when Rohirrim are known to have blonde hair, they were actually famously mocked by the Dunlendings for it, being called "Forgoil" meaning Strawheads!?

The anime look for LOTR looks great honestly I can't wait to see. Just breathtaking to be back into the world of Middle Earth whether that will be past stories or future stories I'm soo happy. I fear that Hera could easily overshadow the roles of her brothers and frealaf. I mean it's cool her character gets credit as it was not even really named in the books but i fear it could be too much, especially when the roles of other characters get downgraded for that purpose. I had hoped to see Helms family as equals, working together and not have the series focus on only one character. Also Heras clothes seem a little bit out of place. But I still hope for a cool dynamic between Frealaf and Hera.

That said, this was not the direction I expected the story going so I still have to be sold on that. 😂 I'm sold visually, just not editorially yet.
Absolutely love how it so far. The animation looks solid, the look of the world still feels like LOTR, and I'm even open to Hera being the lead, as long as we still get all those awesome moments from the original books. Can't wait. Also glad Miranda Otto is back as Eowyn.
This is like Power of the Rings TV series anime version… Nice? 1% Tolkien 99% self invented fan fiction… Huray! Yes, i know that there are real character in here and at least this part of story is mentioned briefly in the books… But I have nagging feeling about this…
Don't forget plucking your nostalgia cord throwing Mumakil in there... Just like Rings of Power throwing Fell Beasts on the screen when they weren't released for war until the Two Towers...
that was honestly the first red flag when they started making announcements about the film. extremely lazy decision motivated solely because it's a recognizable "badass" female name from antiquity
Hera or Herra is of Finnish origin, so it's still Norse. It's a rather simple name, that can be traced to many cultures, so I wouldn't read too much into it. Helm is German, not Norse or English. But, given German history, ancient Germans colonized Scandinavia. You can just pretend they took Norse Hera/Herra and didn't even consider Greek Hera.

I'm honestly super hyped for this one Not to mention, fan artists usually draw the house of Finwe characters in Anime style, so this might be a good door to open for an animation of the Silmarillion.
Ya know, I personally dont mind this as an adaptation at all... I know with the extreme hatred for Rings of Power right now, anything coming out LoTR related and having any semblance of "diversity" or slight changes is making anyone upset. I understand it completely, there are things I feel should stay lore accurate and not changed for the sake of appeasing an audience.. but then there are changes that can be made and have the adaptation still have the feeling of a love letter to Tolkeins work. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy changed things, left things out, gave voice lines from one character to another, sped things up and so on that plenty of book readers at the time were not fans of (but eventually began to enjoy) but it still felt and looked like a wonderfully made and passion filled adaptation. The reason why I don't mind this, is that they are giving a character who didn't have a voice- a voice of their own. I do think I would have loved to see an adaptation of the original story, yes. But I don't mind this either, the character(s) is/are ethnically correct, the character sounds and feels like a believable character in that universe, at least to me- They are just fleshing out a character that wasn't originally anything. Now it won't be canon, but it looks and feels proper... not like Rings of Power... RoP feels like a fanfiction. This feels at least like its really trying. RoP is getting some things right but a lot of things wrong. When it comes to the "girlboss" situation. I don't mind this depiction, the main thing I worry about- same as all of you- is if she is just going to turn into just a repeat of the Eowyn story. Because new adaptations LOVE to call back to the original trilogy to get people coming back (like the forbidden love story in RoP and in The Hobbit.. don't need it.. wasn't impossible! But we know why they did it and it wasn't for possible lore reasons) If you want a bad example of a girl boss- its RoP Galadriel. I don't mind Hera's potential girl-boss because she doesn't seem like a whiny, piss-poor-attitude, stubborn child. To me she comes off as a genuine woman in the midst of a war wanting to do her part for her father and her kingdom- This will come off as a "hidden story" kinda movie. The only thing I possibly see changing that def wont be canon is that Hera kills Wulf- In terms of fleshing out characters, I enjoy it a lot. There are adaptations that add realistic and humanistic story-beats that improve things greatly. An example being in 2015's Cinderella Disney live-action. They gave Prince Charming a name, a personality and a back-story. Which made him and the romance 100000% better. This adaptation will be adding a personality and voice where there was none (that wont be apart of the Helm main story- I think- but think about it, During this whole thing, Where was his daughter???) where as RoP took a beloved character and ruined her by turning her into an extremely unneeded girlboss. Did they have to go the girlboss route? No, feminine power comes in many forms. But amid a war for Rohan, it makes sense. I wouldn't even call her a girlboss.. as "girlboss" is beginning to have negative connotations these days. At least from my perspective. I will keep optimistic, I do wish we could have focused on Helm Hammerhand for the story. I however do not turn down this as an idea either. Id love to see if anyone feels similarly or a differing opinion- I've just been seeing some level of unnecessarily anger to adaptations that COULD make sense... it wont ever be 100% accurate but it can be close while still enjoying the feeling of it.
As someone who's loved LotR & anime since I was like 10 & got to see all the live-action LotR films whey were initially in theaters atop when the extended editions were brought to theaters iirc ~a decade post-Fellowship, I'm all the more looking forward to this film having seen the trailer & your breakdown of it 🤩
As an animator working on anime in Japan, seeing people (who are not really interested in animation nor the source material for LotR, i.e casual LotR movie watchers) in the western world react to the trailer with disdain, and little understanding for how animation work has been so saddening. They don't understand that timing (how many frames a picture lasts for) is a part of the animation skills, and they purely think "high framerate means good animation" which is an opinion born from people playing videogames. The designs are so incredibly detailed, that the amount of lines a person has to draw for one image is insane, and having to move those requires a huge amount of work. Which requires time, which anyone who knows the first thing about the anime industry, is not something animators are given. I could talk about the animation and decisions done in this trailer for hours, but basically, the animators must've had such a hard time animating this, and seeing people who know nothing about animation speak as if it looks bad is so sad to see. Glad to see that actual Tolkien fans seem to like what they're seeing though, and that their issues is not with the visuals, but more with the content of the story, which is totally fair. I do also have my reservations about it.
As a long-time of Tolkien's stories I'm excited for this animated film, my introduction to his works was none other The Animated Film from 1977 The Hobbit. As always thank you for your amazing videos once again my fellow scholar of Middle-Earth.
HUGE anime fan here and WOW I cannot wait for this project. I didn’t even know about this until a few weeks ago because I’ve been burned by anime/live action adaptions too many times. Seeing Kenji Kamiyama attached to this makes me SO HAPPY! The Ninth Jedi was my favorite episode of Visions and he directed one of my all time favorite anime, Moribito, which has one of my all time favorite female leads in any medium! A lot of all times and favorites in there 😅 LOL
I love all the men so offended by the main character as a woman. The antiwoke crusaders! You don't understand narrative. You tell stories from the characters who know the least to allow the audience to discover things with the characters. That is why the Lord of the Rings is told from the perspective of hobbits (in the books at least).
Why is wanting things to respect Tolkien and remain close to the original source anti woke and woman hating? Don't you get tired of thing constantly pushing politics.
Woman lord of the rings fans are tired of people like you assuming it's only anti woke men who don't like agenda pushing virtual signalling. These now lord of the rings films simplify tolkeins words and messages to a disrespectful level. What you are saying is tolkeins writings are not professionally thought out and refined enough for you. That tells me you don't understand what good story telling actually is. Good story telling is subtle it's not in your face.
The lord of the rings trilogy films did a good job adapting book to film in a realistic and respectable manner. Notice how political agenda is not in the films. It is told in neutral subtle way. There's a reason Peter Jackson's trilogy is one of the best films ever made. Same for the orinal star wars films. And Harry potter films. Politics where not in your face or changing the story to suite certain agendas.
most of the times "all us men" are offended it's because they take already existing properties with heroic male characters and change it so that either the men are emasculated or the females are made into mary sues, or usually both. It's the girlboss stereotype that gets tiresome because it's been done to death, and the fact that they want to remove hero stories with masculine men. Nobody would care if they made original works with well written female heroes, it's the fact that they are poorly written and made to be obnoxious people with annoying attitudes to make a point, and that they shoehorn them into already existing franchises instead of creating their own.
They were just making a point and starting up a conversation. No need to get your knickers in a twist! I’m the same, it’ll be a shame to sideline them.
I was pretty excited for this but the trailer left me very disappointed - looks very much like yet another modern-age girl boss garbage. She's the most important, she's the last hope, she's everybody's savior, she's everywhere, does everything, beats everyone blah blah blah. The entire trailer was about her.
Wait a minute. You're telling me a trailer mostly shows footage of the main character? What is this woke garbage?! Next you'll tell me John Wick is a movie about a man who is perfect at everything and is even named after the male lead? What DEI/woke/feminist trash.
Warner Bros creating the character Hera is a major red flag. Her purpose is to deny agency to Hama and Haleth. Not to mention her name is an insult to the professors naming convention, all of the Rohirrim names are based upon Olde Anglo-Saxon names. Theoden is King in Olde Anglo-Saxon. Hate to be the one to point it out, but Hera is from Ancient Greece. This is going to be another bastardisation of Tolkiens work, another shameless cash grab. The legendarium of Tolkien is not "content'"
@@galactica0433 You can just check your own copies of Bosworth Toller and Wright for yourself. You…you do own a copy of BT for yourself, yes? As a person who is keen to determine how Anglo-Saxon is used in contemporary media, I would imagine your copy is quite accessible.
Héra??? In Tolkien's texts, Helm Hammerhand's daughter is barely even mentioned, she's not even named, and there are no actions or events of significance to where she is included. She is _that_ inconsequential to the actual story that Tolkien didn't even bother to name her. Why not focus on actual relevant characters such as Helm's nephew Frealaf? You know the guy who actually came and defeated the Dunlendings after Helm's and his two son's deaths? Thus saving the kingdom and was named King. Why not follow and focus on him? What we're obviously getting here is yet another predictable feminization of Tolkien's work. For those of you who enjoy shallow fanfiction, I guess this is the film for you.

It's Rings of Power all over again. The portrayal of Galadriel still pisses me off to this day.

In the Minas Ithil section of the game you find a Gondorian artifact that is a ring, and the narration accompanying it says,
“The orcs are obsessed with rings, more so than coins or jewelry of equal value. They snatch them from prisoners immediately, and what happens to these rings is anyone’s guess. We rarely find orcs actually wearing them.”
Thought it was interesting!
@@sevzapkino No, Héra is literally an anglo-saxon word and means "the obedient". It could also be derived from hére meaning "majestic".
@@theredjoker8857 Can you reference that? I can't find it used as a name only as a noun.

@@theredjoker8857 Sure, but not a name. That is the point. Tolkien wouldn't have used it and I'm surprised they have.
Ugh.

I mean the series is called War of the Rohirrim and not Legend of Hera or sth... I mean why not have Frealaf AND Hera be equal main characters? One dude one dudess? @@ukmediawarrior Of course she did, that is always her thing. A shame they let her close to this movie.

Really enjoyed this breakdown! Looking forward to seeing this. Great job
i just finished the appendices for the first time last night, didn't know this was going to theaters, but the story of Helm was absolutely one of the standouts, so I will be there.
It is something how studios advertise to different cultures. This trailer compared to the Japanese trailer has a completely different vibe
As someone who's a big fan of Tolkien AND anime, I'm super excited that the two are combined! Hopefully these horses are better than Attack on Titan horse charge scenes because yeeessh those were rough. It's really cool to see the LotR movie set design, especially of the Golden Hall, in an animated form. I've seen so many comments around from people saying they're not into anime so they're not into this. And that's just... so narrow minded and disappointing.
That said, this was not the direction I expected the story going so I still have to be sold on that. 😂 I'm sold visually, just not editorially yet.
To bad Anime is the wrong animation choice.

Absolutely love how it so far. The animation looks solid, the look of the world still feels like LOTR, and I'm even open to Hera being the lead, as long as we still get all those awesome moments from the original books. Can't wait. Also glad Miranda Otto is back as Eowyn.

I’m mad they named her Hera which is derived from Greek and all the Rohirrim were clearly based off Norse and English peoples
that was honestly the first red flag when they started making announcements about the film. extremely lazy decision motivated solely because it's a recognizable "badass" female name from antiquity
Herra
Hera or Herra is of Finnish origin, so it's still Norse. It's a rather simple name, that can be traced to many cultures, so I wouldn't read too much into it. Helm is German, not Norse or English. But, given German history, ancient Germans colonized Scandinavia. You can just pretend they took Norse Hera/Herra and didn't even consider Greek Hera.
Herra is a Scandinavian name. Do you always spout off about stuff you dont anything about?
@@thegamescholarz6326 I have been scrolling online through the Icelandic and other Norse sagas, and Primary Russian Chronicle, and going through the books that I have on them. I cannot find the name Hera or Herra anywhere in them. It also doesn't seem to be a modern Dutch, English, German, or Scandanavian name. I believe it means a form of Mister in some German dialects. Can you direct me to the poems or sagas or name lists where it is English or Norse? I have always been under impression that it is Hellenic in origin. Thank you

@@fantasywind3923 Tell me, do you hate the Peter Jackson films and call them "fanficiton?" They deviate a good amount from the writings of Tolkien, after all.
Or is that you just want the franchise to be forever stagnate and for there to never be any new stories set in this universe?
@@tylerleach8796 there's a clear distinction between an 'adaptation' (and the measure in how it is faithful to source material or not) and a mostly original story using some elements of lore! I had chills when watching the pinball machine scene in The Accused
Yes!
The only thing I possibly see changing that def wont be canon is that Hera kills Wulf-
In terms of fleshing out characters, I enjoy it a lot.
As someone who's loved LotR & anime since I was like 10 & got to see all the live-action LotR films whey were initially in theaters atop when the extended editions were brought to theaters iirc ~a decade post-Fellowship, I'm all the more looking forward to this film having seen the trailer & your breakdown of it 🤩
Love the review! Really excited for this!
I am a westerner and the visuals are incredible. Better than what Disney does. I just hope they didn't create some super girl boss for this animation.
