    I agree with this, this could have some great implications on the Sabellion/Wrathian feud. Both want the seat, but neither know why it's even vacant. Other than, 'Dad went a bit off the pot and got in with some bad dudes.'
    Could open up some more options to really letting us choose who is best for the seat. Saballion is more duty oriented but blinded by said duty where Wrathian is more wreckless but effective. Both qualities I'm sure they share with Deathwing. Maybe they need to start learning from each other without sacrificing their better quality.

      It would but ultimately what I see happening (haven't watched the video yet so I apologize if this is similarly stated somewhere within) is that this is a parallel to the Dragonwrath storyline almost beat for fucking beat. We know for a fact Blizzard wants Old Gods, judging by the description this is true despite not having played since last month. Dragon Isles in development was said to be infested with the Twilight's Hammer back when its initial location was what we called "Northern Lordaeron" between WPL and EPL in a circle but inaccessible and if you hovered over it wasn't a registered zone.
      If you didn't do the Dragonwrath questline, basically Malygos went crazy and had to be put down in Wrath. This led to a power vacuum between Kalecgos who was from the comics and later incorporated into the WoW universe during 2.4's content, and Arygos who was the son of Malygos yet was offscreen for literally all of the lore despite being around since Vanilla because you have to free him in his gnomish form (I think he's a gnome?) in AQ40 after C'thun. So you ultimately get a case of "Hey, this unrelated guy has actually been trying to do shit, and this other guy has been offscreen for God knows how fucking long (since 2.1) and the only reason the devs even remembered he existed was doing Blade's Edge in TBCC, but he's back and also thinks his lineage should guarantee him the spot."
      That is just where we are now. For those who haven't done Dragonwrath, well the Old Gods are tied in with this, because Arygos not getting his way over being the new Aspect leads him to side with the Twilight's Hammer who assure him they will kill Kalecgos and he will be able to have his spot as the Aspect of Magic. So he allies with them, ends up getting backstabbed (almost quite literally, Benedictus climbs on his back and stabs in him the skull when they escape) and being used as a pawn to summon a large threat into the world due to having the same blood as the now deceased Aspect of Magic and thus being good enough, namely a very twisted and very powerful creation that is a battering ram for the Old Gods, huh, I wonder if possibly we might see a story about a big monster that's been hinted at like oh I dunno let's just say Galakrond being revived by the Old Gods, Sabellian being killed in course of this likely due to a betrayal following his betrayal, and Galakrond is now back for the Old Gods.

    • @CedricBassman

      "Saballion is more duty oriented but blinded by said duty where Wrathian is more wreckless but effective."
      Problem is: Saballion is also a asshole who buys into his own hype. While we cleared the Jaradim occupation out, he flew up to the Throne and almost started decoration on "his" Throne Room. Wrathion was actually down there helping.
      Problem with Wrathion is that he is a help, yes. But as you say he is wreckless and his Methods are honestly questionable at best. Because no matter how you can lay it down on me, i will never see how freeing Garrosh and greatly reducing both Horde and Alliance Military capacities due to a War in another timeline actually helped us prepare against the Invasion of the Legion.

    • @bastalam
      @bastalam Год назад

      Wrathion being effective? Like opening up a portal at the chamber of the heart of azeroth? What did it accomplish, really? Or his genocidal plan to eliminate either the horde or alliance, where timed proved we needed both? Exactly, where was he effective? His last bit of plan was to use the dagger we all know has the power to keep an old god essence and shove it in Nzoth, well I wonder where that old god went.

    • @witchlynproductions753
      @witchlynproductions753 Год назад

      @@bastalam The point of his "genocidal plan" was to only have one army that stood united against the legion, because horde and alliance only play together for so long, then go back to killing each other. He was right too, because as soon as the legion was dealt with we had another massive war. Logically speaking, if two nations were fighting amongst each other and then a more powerful one stepped in to destroy both, how likely would the smaller two survive if they were already spending their resources on each other?

      The Old Gods not being so bad would be bad writing, and it would be completly unnecessary too.
      With everything happening on Argus in Legion (and the surrounding Lore) Blizzard already laid the Foundation that the Light might not be as good as it always promoted itself. They expanded it with the Mag'har Questline, showing that the Light is just as bad in their endgoal as the Void, dropping all pretense and go around with the same "Join us or die" attitude.
      The Old Gods don't have a reasonable point, they really don't. But the Light apparently doesn't either. They both want to devour everything until everything is either Light or Void. No need to make one or even both seem kinda reasonable.

    I had always thought that the other side of Azeroth was the ruins of Ny'alotha and that at one point we would be empowered by the Titans to defeat some type of amalgamation of the Old Gods, who finally gained enough power to move on the Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor and the rest of the fractured land masses via the Maelstrom and the Well of Eternity was actually a seal to keep them trapped or some type of device that stole the Old Gods energy, magic, power, whatever, and converted it to the Arcane magic from the Well. Once the well broke, the Old Gods were able to reclaim Ny'alotha and weaken the bonds that held them in their respective prisons and the whole N'zoth raid was to just make us think we had dealt with the threat when, in fact, we have not. Imagine some type of Giant old God bursting out of the Maelstrom and since, usually, when you get "empowered" in WoW you get larger. But this time it's much, much larger. Imagine a raid or maybe even an open world event raid (crazy right?), with your group spread out on all the different land masses of Azeroth, where giant mountains would be only small hills and rocks and you would have mobs pouring out of all the places where the Old Gods where bound to, like Ulduar, Pandaria, etc, with a Giant Amalgamation of the Old Gods right in the middle.
    But with recent events, maybe we will be protecting the Old Gods from the return of a now slightly weakened Sargeras, after his fight with Illidan, who just convinces him to rejoin the Pantheon to defeat the "evil" Old Gods because he is still unaware that the Titans have been lying, in a similar type of raid. Maybe the big human revelation coming is that our ancestors we were not made from the curse of flesh, but directly by the Old Gods. Also, now one must seriously consider that since we know the Titans are lying 100% and portraying the Black Empires rule as bad, maybe they are lying about other things, most notably the "death" of Y'Shaarj.
    Another fun little thought experiment, does Light exist without Void or vice versa? What if they birth each other in some sort of paradoxical, Yin and Yang-esque type of synergy. And when you think about it, Order is the direct opposite to Paradoxes. Which is why as far as I've read no actual Light Titans exist and they merely bend it to their will, considering the reported differences between how humans use the Light and how Titans use it. Maybe Arcane energy is just Light and Void forced together as one, canceling its paradoxical nature.
    The only thing I know for sure is that these are some very exicting times for lore in WoW.
    Love the content Bellular! Thanks for the effort you guys put in!

    I'm really enjoying myself in DF so far; there's lots to do and discover, and I love the expansion of the lore. But at the same time I feel super disconnected from my WoW roots. It's like nothing from the previous expansions matters anymore. How are the characters doing that we've spent years, often more than a decade, getting to know and love? What's up in their lives? How have they recovered from the events of Shadowlands? Have they managed to rebuild what was lost? Or at least begun doing so? Oribos flowing the dead (spirit, anima) back into the Creator was the natural design. Think the Big Bang and the theory of the universe contracting, but on a mythological level. There are plenty of hints that souls aren't supposed to leave Azeroth.The Titan's plan was to order Azeroth and prevent her rebirth, thus instilling their design stays in place. Also creating a near perfect realm of ordered "death."

I mean, the southern parts of both Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms are deserts and tropical rain forests/jungles. Even the southern coast of Pandaria is mostly jungle. Outside of Northrend, all of the cold, snowy regions are that way because of their altitude, not their latitude (which is why I was annoyed when one of the Ironforge fishing dailies has you fish up a species called "Arctic Char" - "artic" doesn't mean "cold", it refers to extreme northern latitudes). All of this suggests that all of the lands of Azeroth that we have seen thus far are located near and above the equator.

      @@dr.zoidberg8666 Probably because content creators like bellular feed into that binary mentality when they talk about the old gods. Or I guess you can say Warcraft's sophomoric writing lends itself to those childishly simplistic statements (especially when Blizzard themselves seem to be positioning it as uncovering the truth of Azeroth hidden away by the Titan's lies).

    Didn't Chronicals say Kalimdor was the 'largest' continent on Azeroth? I've always believed there were other continents simply based on this wording. You can't be the largest of something if you're the only one. Combine that with the writing about ships that sailed in that direction never heard from again, and there's something back there, whether it's land or just some massive storm. If we're only half the planet (or less) the backside could be just as big with just as much lore as our side. Imagine if there were intelligent races over there, with their own cities, their own hero's who fought old god corruption, dark portal from another planet, going to alternate timelines... We've been fighting Horde and Alliance, but there could be a single faction over there just as big as both of our factions combined.

  • @anubis24354
    @anubis24354 Год назад +3

    Second comment but, what if they reintroduce the faction conflict…by having us choose between titans and old gods. They could carry this on over two or three expansions before finally settling the conflict. No idea how they’d handle raids (smartest idea would be to just make raids with story purpose and visually change the players to fit the side being represented, that way the raid doesn’t have to change based on faction). But then they could actually merge hide and alliance, and turn it genuinely into void vs light.

    I really love the Dishonored games and the way the geography of that world was handeled:
    All of the history and games take place in "The Isles" which are an island chain vaguely themed after different areas of europe. But then there's Pandyssia, a massive continent that absolutely dwarves the isles, being likely about 50 times their size. And it's a continent so dangerous and uninviting that no one has been able to set up a real settlement there.

That would be incredibly foolish. Look, I'm a WC2 fanatic. I love the old story and characters. I love Deathwing. I wish there was a way to go back to the original story. I don't know if this has been mentioned before but there's something I've found odd and Bellular if you read this please let us know, or possibly keep an eye out for info on it. But during the intro of the Dracthyr and later installments they talk about Neltharion using a Titan artifact to force the Dracthyr to have loyalty not only to him but to each other. (I'm not done with the Valdrakken rep and questline so maybe it's resolved in there) But if it was a Titan artifact than it predates the experiment at the least. What are your ideas on whether or not this could of been used to force the Aspects into accepting the Titan powers they came to posess? Could this knowledge be what pushed Neltharion over the edge and into madness and possibly what finally breaks Nozdormu as well? I know there's a lot of conjecture in this but it's been my tin foil hat theory since I learned of it.

    I thought that the continents recently moving on the world map was just making space for more island expansions. But likely, there should be no continent or island between Aszara and Maelstrom. As those locations were supposed to be neighbours on the old Kalimdor. The Well of Eternity was in Zin Ashari (I think that was the name) and that's what created the Maelstrom. So the land neighboring it should be Aszara. I mean, we even got some Legion quests in Aszara, suggesting it was near the Night Elven capital.

    The problem that I still grapple with is that we've seen what Black Empire was like, as recent as this expansion. Why go to such an extent to retcon the lore, to make the previous good guys seem bad and let's be honest the lore has been total nonsense after legion, why would I even begin to trust what ever the hell they are trying to come up with won't be even worse? So far, I haven't liked one bit of what was said. If I have to choose between Black Empire or titans order, I'll pick titan order every time. Riddle me this, if they were so bad, why did they leave and not stay to rule over us, like the old gods did.

    ".. what lies beyond the waves."--
    There's more to this than meets the eyes (and mind) as well. As you noted, "the other side of Azeroth" is one.
    The other of course, could reference underwater. The best part is it doesn't need to be merely underwater-beneath the ocean could be an underground (underneath the water) where an entire civilization could exist or even "another Azeroth" (multiple continents). One way to erase history is to bury it, just like how dinosaur bones are buried so deeply underground. Yeah, this sounds like conspiracy but its a legitimate possibility.
    There's also the Emerald Dream that could be retcon'd to be the REAL world where the Black Empire and everything exists in ruins. This could/would make the world we know (Azeroth-EK, Kalimdor, Northrend, etc.) as a false world the Titans created before/after they shoved the real world into the other dimension (Emerald Dream).
    I hate to say this in a way Blizzard could abuse to the extreme but.. THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS. -sigh
    EDIT:
    @16:40 ".. true name."
    Well this is something even more annoying. Given the talk of nurturing the worlds flesh and true names, the continent itself could be an old god (similar to how N'Zoth's body was the land where the well of eternity was & Wandering Isle on a turtle's back).

One thing can say tho is, they (Void Lords)are from the void. They are so alien that they cannot exist in this space and must use specially created avatars (Old Gods) to plant their seeds in this realm. That is the information they decided to omit when they recruited Neltharion to their cause.
