    The amazing thing about this car is that the very few times I've actually seen one on the road, it actually turns more heads than a porsche and even a ferrari.

    i use to live literally 2 miles from this DMC shop they show. The owners are really cool guys, they really do have a true passion for the cars and gave me a full tour of the building.

    THE coolest car of all time. I fully intend on owning one at some point in my life. I know a lot of people complain about this car and say all sorts of crap about it, but I don't care. This car's cool-factor is all that matters to me.

    I love the DeLorean, I drove 2 of them. And driving one of these cars will give you lots of attention. Plus people always seem to smile when they see it.

    I'm going to buy one of those Deloreans with a stage 3 engine, 5 speed manual and a corrected suspension. A dream come true. After a lot of convincing, my wife is on board. That was the hard part, now it is just a matter of coming up with the money...wait a minute... I guess the hard part is not over yet, but mark my words, I will have a Delorean :) Thanks for keeping the dream alive!

    I actually saw one of these on the road the other day. Never would have thought back in the 80's that the first time I'd see one on a public road would be in 2011.

    Ya know, I liked the DeLorean initially through BTTF - but I think it's really time to settle down the BTTF references all the bloody time when it comes to these cars. There's more to the car than the movies.

      @silverwings11035 6 лет назад +3

      creepingnet now that's something I definitely would love to see because I have 82 DeLorean that I restored and I carry no Back to the Future memorabilia in the car whatsoever as I love the car and the company more than the movie and a lot of the back to the future references do get old

      @@blue_eyes_wander3901 You're right. I think that's why so few people know about the Bricklin SV-1. Roughly the same story of the car's birth and death but no classic movies to make a legend of the machine.

    I've been working on it. It's his baby though. He's had it for 20 years and has been the only person that's maintained it during that time. He just bought another one for special events with 3k miles, all original. If he ever sells his turbo car and I have the money, I'll buy it from him then! There is a video of it on my webpage.

    @steamingpoopfart well, the Deloreans in the market today have a lot of variety. Some of them have been thrashed about in the past years but there are others which are well maintained. Considering that they are well cared for, it is well suited for a daily driver. I personally don't own one but know a friend who actually uses it almost everyday. There are many 80s cars today on the roads today, so it shouldn't be much of a problem. Regular maintainance should be a must like most cars today.

  • @jammer96

    they can get away with building them without having it pass the latest safety and emission regulations due to the classic car rule. even though it's technically a new car when they build them, they're using existing inventory that was produced in the early 1980's to do it. so they are allowed to bypass new safety and emission regulations as a result.

  • @johnnybikesalot
    @johnnybikesalot 12 лет назад

    "Don't worry about getting it up to 88 MPH" because it has a 140 hp engine. It only hits 88 if you drive it off a cliff. Still I'd buy one. And hopefully swap in some real power.

    @andiders Yeah, but you would need a completely new suspension to handle that power. Not to mention tires and the fabrication necessary to accept such a large engine such as the V16. With an LS1 you would get noticeable performance gains without having to do anything too crazy to the car, PLUS it would be a heck of a lot cheaper as well

  • @zeratul575
    @zeratul575 14 лет назад

    what someone needs to do is start up production of the original parts and make a few speacail ones so some ppl can have there own time machine car and have the wormhole generator and stuff glow when someone gets to 88mph

  • @Tstanley81
    @Tstanley81 12 лет назад

    @1991JeepMan
    This may be a tad bit dissapointing but they never had V8's. DeLoreans only came with one engine, a Peugot, Renault, Volvo V6 with 130 hp. That may not seem like much but I used to own a DeLorean and the car had plenty of power in my opinion. The new DMC is still using the stock engines and tranny's

    The Motorweek says the prices can vary depending on what your doing. If you have an old delorean and need it refurbished, it can cost ya about 15K, otherwise, a brand new off the shelf 1981 Delorean can run ya a little less than 40,000. I don't think that's a bad price for a car that can last more than twenty years, but i hear that the thing is severely underpowered and is more about style than performance.

DeLoreans can be very finicky electrically and need a lot of TLC to remain reliable due to the Lucas electrical system in them.

    I think a honda engine been good for the car. but delorean is a lil smaller in design. would have to revamp the car to hold the motor. and of course is alot of back to the future comments. its what inspired this man to buy the company and keep the tradition alive. the car technology in it. it has been one of my fave cars for a long long time. since i was a lil kid i wanted 1. i have rode in them. drove 1. with more power smoother handling. id tear this car up on a track. weight is not A issue.
