Hey everyone. Thanks for posting this. My new book, Time of Your Life; Hardcore, Punk, Indie Rock and a Life Well Begun in Milwaukee is available for pre-order and can be seen in part on IG: TIMEOFYOURLIFEBOOK. I saw some comments about Scott's leaving the band. I want to be clear that I was present at the time of the band meeting (it was in my house). The guys in PR have always stood up for other people and I will too, including past members of the band who are my friends. Thank you for all of your interest in this wonderful time in music history. -Jeff Winkowski
VHS Hardcore I was at this show and heard something about a band member rapped someone at this festival or before the festival. Defiantly before they were on stage.. a lot of people heckled and left. I was working at a booth with my then boyfriend. We left. Other than what else was said, that's my foggy memory.
@@andrewparsons7719 it's so weird watching this. I can see the back of my 16 year old head. Anyway, the next day was when all the rumors about the bass player had boiled over and brought the fest to a halt. The rumor was that he was at a new year's eve party in Indianapolis the previous winter. And a woman ran out of a bedroom he was in. She ran out of the house saying he tried to rape her. On the last day of the fest, Boy Sets Fire decided to cancel their set and let people come on stage and talk about it, which quickly became a rape survivor support group. It got pretty emotional. It was a few hours. And few sets were missed. But Promise Ring had already left the day before. So we didn't hear anything from the guy. Who was kicked out of the band shortly after this... his last show. Word about the alleged rape attempt had spread throughout the underground. People were passing out flyers in Detroit to boycott the band before anyone found out he had been booted. Some people in that scene would have killed him if he stayed in the band and toured. It was definitely the original metoo.

Scott Beschta playing Nothing Feels Good songs, dang. Gotta be one of his last shows in the band.
I believe this was his last show.

@@ShotofTea According to the book POST by Eric Grubbs, the accusations of rape were later recanted by the accuser.
Dang. They're so small. That Marshall halfstack is almost dwarfing Davey...
Historical fact: This was the actual beginning of the metoo movement...
Huh? Please do fill us in

@@carpeimodiem Very interesting, I never heard of this- I'm from their home state of Wisconsin, but I always wondered why he left he band...
