Ha! God help her if it had been any other day then.
Don't expect Robert Smith to not be Robert Smith :)
@MYHOLLANDGIRL haha yeah but they aren't giving him an award for his interview skills and that attitude helped create some great music (and it looks to me like he is nervous)
Very well said.
@MYHOLLANDGIRL has someone been making you listen to him? That's not fair. If you don't like him then don't listen to him. Or is it you just like to judge? I would bet on the latter.
@MYHOLLANDGIRL maybe it'll sink in that it's not an act and that the RUclips award is meaningless
@MYHOLLANDGIRL I like him even more if he does things like that
I misread the title and was expecting Robert to offer the host a blunt
lol me too
I'm just amazed how Robert Smith still singing the way he does. Many others can't anymore.
For those wondering, that is edward scissorhands’ aunt!!!!
Not enough respect for this comment
I was wondering! thanks for the pointer!!!
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH!!!!! OH!!!!!!
I've met Robert Smith , he's a really nice guy , witty and funny too.
No disrespect to this girl and it’s nice she was so enthusiastic and friendly but as a fellow introvert I was cringing for poor Robert, you could see he does not like people drawing attention and making a huge fuss over him! Extroverts do not get introverts at all! Either way The Cure are one of the greatest bands of all time and one of my favorite! About time they get their music gets the recognition! Rock on guys!
Hello fellow introvert. Well said. Small talk in the office kitchen for me is the worst 😬
/i mean he definitely is going to get a lot of attention drawn to him here because he's doing interviews lol?
And introverts are giant cry babies and mental weaklings. Oh no! You had a social interactions how ever shall you endure???
@Brandon Munoz It's the truth.
@Brandon Munoz No it's you who doesn't understand that. So much so you straw manned my position like there was no tomorrow. The next time you have a problem with what somebody said then address what they actually said and not what you wish they said....
God I love him. I know exactly what he means. NEVER CHANGE, ROBERT.
Hello, How are you doing? It’s nice seeing you here
When she first talks to him he’s like why are you yelling into my face? 😂😂
The bubbly approach is not really recommended in this scenario.......
British humor at its best
Watch Johnny Rotten for that
Robert Smith much funnier than Ricky gervais
@Gioncol- Then you are clueless about British humour. Robert wasn't being funny. So glad he amused you. I felt sorry for him listening to that annoying popsicle.
However if you watch the whole
Interview he is generous, kind and answers all the questions thoughtfully
As for me, there's nothing rude in Robert's reply and I dont' understand why there's so much noise about it)))!
I thought she was sweet, especially at the end when she said, "you win in my book".
He was being rude considering he is not even arriving with the original band.
@@Question8619 Rude? It's been widely known he is not fond of interviews.
ur probably unfamiliar with him... lol that is just how he is
?? No, she was being annoying
The look he gives her..
"wow! Robert Smith is the greatest person who ever lived!"
They don’t need an award to prove their worthy! The Cure and every loyal fan knows they’ve been and still are the BEST and the FINEST band of all time❤️
You just go right on believing that. 🙄
Then they should have turned it down no one is forcing them to accept it
Oh you are out of your mind. I like them plenty. They are not in the top two hundred
Absolutely...I love them soooooooo much...The Beatles were before my time, but I’d be amazed if they were better than The Cure.. 💚👍👍👍
@@WolfeTone66 you literally are musically naive.
"Are you as excited as I am?" -- Clearly not familiar with The Cure's music.
Clearly not familiar with Robert Smith
So y’all wouldn’t be excited if you got to talk to Robert Smith? For some people it’s hard to be calm around artists they love so she may be a fan or not but we’ll never know I suppose
@@SavBear-025 I would be excited to meet him, but as a fan of his dark themes I wouldn't expect he is an excitable young boy.
cure the shittiest band on the planet, simply no talent at all.
I love this guy, the music and looks made him unique from other singers of the 80s.
And yet he STOLE his "look" from Siouxsie Sioux, lol.
Don't get me wrong. I love the Cure. But you can't help but see that (and there are videos here on YT that show the band, in their infancy, where Robert is sporting a kind-of flat-top haircut, more like David Gahan, and no lipstick or eyeliner; looked like a normal bloke). Siouxsie was clearly an influence on Robert when he was their guitarist for a time.
he was very nice to her. she was like a giddy teenage girl. the cure are awesome though. kiss me will always be one of my all time teenage favourites.
I felt like that to giddy fan lol but Robert was great i wish people would just get musicians actors ect are just people to not make spectacules of them selves but teach there own letters to Elise will always be my fav song ever Written by The cure an Wish will always be my fav Album of theres
@@chrissymillsap730 It's the way the media are now, particularly the american media. And all these new gen of two-bit shitty pop stars with nothing to say except -AMAZING-.
He was defensive. She could charge him with sexual assault.
*throws tomatos*
HitchHikersBlues She's probably trying to keep peppy and chirpy and other nauseating things to stay ahead of the 15 year old wannabes after her job.
I love how she was so enthusiastic and then when he said no , her voice went down by like 10 pitches
I love Robert! Hilarious. "by the sounds of it, no." LOL.
"By the sounds of it, no." Hahahahahaha! I love Robert Smith.
Hey I didn’t know Patrick Bateman was a the cure fan! Yo Patrick Bateman is a “goff”
The rock n roll hall off fame couldn't be more antithetical to rock
_I can lose myself in Chinese art and _*_American girls_*
I love the pure Britishness of his wit here. The journalist has no idea how to respond.
Hmmm , this reminds me of an empty-headed shrieking ‘journalist’ , backstage at an open-air event prior to stage entrance asking Freddie Mercury what it was like to perform in front of 65000 adoring fans at Milton Keynes at the height of their commercial fame in the 1990s. ‘Don’t know . I haven’t done it yet’. Classic British understatement , and it shut her up instantly .
Freddie was a legend! 🙌🏻🤣🖤
@@ashotofmercury Now Freddie is dead! He is fertalizing the soil, just like we all will someday! Enjoy life while you have it! You only get one turn!
Nobody told her that the weather is really bad in England
Its not that bad, we had a 3 day heat wave this year
@@djhillfinger You mean it got into the 70's? You poor people. next time tell us, we will send you some sunscreen!
@@inconnu4961the 70s! Steady on. Phew
He’s a humble guy, he realizes that if he says he is or acts like he is then he has lost it. He was gracious enough . Girl needs to settle down, there not Motley Cru.
The best part is the nonverbal answer to the cringeworthy "You win in my book."...
He was very polite idk why this video is acting like something bad happened. She was just asking the questions she’s expected to ask and keeping conversation light with laughter and he’s just trying to reply as politely as he can even though he obviously isn’t excited as he’s expected to be.
It isn't. It's just the juxtaposition of two wildly different moods. As an introvert, I totally relate.
If you know anything about Robert, you’d know he was cringing having to deal with that woman
Robert is always this way in interviews! look up night network interview. I love watching him react to super excited interviewers.
Hahahahaha! You have to love this man! The Cure is as important to me as my brain, heart and lungs.
She didn't do anything wrong and he didnt do anything wrong. A very normal interview
@Coloredspaces
Exactly.
Yes, but you clicked on the video and posted a comment. Engagement achieved.
She was annoying. We don't do very well "valley girl" in the UK....
British humour 😊
Overzealous host. And who is Coloredspaces?
This was quite literally me to waitresses on my fifth day of being in Vegas. No I’m not high fiving you because my dessert is on the way.
thank for the heads up; note to self - never go to Vegas
You're supposed to high five waitresses in Las Vegas? Yikes.
Vegas is horrible.
I'm crying hahahah
@@nspector I think that was a euphemism
She's what we call in England a mood hoover
He’s one of the nicest guys in music.
He was bombarded by all the attention and celebration. Different time zones, and all flashbulbs shooting at you. He was rubbing his face at the beginning, maybe from anxiety. I've seen him in other relaxed interviews, and was fantastic. It was bad timing to talk..
Not on this evidence he was totally rude here.
Markus Antonio a male being obnoxious, that’s new! Ohhh wait
Gary from GLASGOW By most accounts of Robert Smith, I respectfully disagree with you. I think he tolerated her rather well. He’s not the pretentious high fiving, back slapping, self congratulatory type, and batted her shrill over exuberance away perfectly. A funny moment from an introverted, but lovely guy.
What about R Kelly?
well you have to give him props for consistency. He's had that attitude since 1978.
He’s secretly quite chuffed 😄
Has to be nice to do things totally your own way and still get inducted 👍🏼
His face the whole time she was talking is priceless.
One of the best interviews EVER!
Robert is shy. Seems like he always has been
Yeah but look how much she is invading his space lol.
Great
Hello, How are you doing? It’s nice seeing you here
I'm not sure anyone wants to have someone shouting in their face like that...
I think i would've reacted like robert had too
She was just trying to be nice, Rob just isnt that high energy
I think she did great. A fan. And had a job to do. What fan wouldn't want to get to just exchange a few words with him. No monopoly on what a fan is. My guess would be he does appreciate them all..giddy depressed angry happy blah blah one of the best all time bands...just one fans opinion. just a fan.
...maybe she'd already had a few i think...cheers love!
She sounds like the type of person that was in a teen-girl-pop group in 1999 who had one minor hit we've all since forgotten called "Gotta Dance 4 My Love".
I love him, he is very tender! I feel identified with him, when someone extrovert approaches to me screaming and being radiant, I feel myself like the darkness itself xD
Hello, How are you doing? It’s nice seeing you here
