I turned 3 the day of this show. My mom tells me she had a circulation of three albums around this time: Dookie by Green Day, Live In General by MxPx and Nothing Feels Good by The Promise Ring. Seeing that this happened on my birthday is pretty cool to me. Too bad I was only 3 and lived in Indianapolis, I would've been so happy to see this.
I do too. Very rustic in this. He's got a natural rasp and his voice cracks in ways that are still mostly in key. Great vocal performance here. I literally didn't know these guys were this good live until watching this video. Makes me like the band more
That's my kind of drummer and singer! My brother and I are both drummers and my wife always asks why we make weird face's when we play but that's just the way we play! I never got a chance to see these guy's back in the day but every time I hear their first album it's like it's the mid 90's again when there was good bands a plenty, show were cheap and so were records!
I was 9 when this show happened. I first got into emo with bands like Brand New and Taking Back Sunday then got into 90s emo. I Wish I could travel back in time and see shows during this era of emo/indie.
Wow so happy to have just found this!! One of my favourite bands of all time. Love you Davey! These albums got me through my university exams in 2000! Big love xx Come play in London, UK. I'll bring a crowd, we love you xx

wow
Your mum has excellent taste!
the way they ended this set will live in my head forever
“Let’s talk about the sound of phone outside of Texaco” is one of my favorite Promise Ring lyrics.
One year after Nothing Feels Good and about a 6 weeks before the release of Boys + Girls. This was a great time to see The Promise Ring.
Spot on
I want my college music back 😔
He sounds so good. I like his singing here more than on the album for sure.

Davey will always be the coolest front man ever, hands down!
Best facial expressions ever!! The drummer's hilarious : ) favorite emo band from the 90s
This is awesome. What a time for emo 🥹
Freakin' Awesome. Saw them with Jets to Brazil and Pedro the Lion, late October 98 in Portland, OR with great friends.

Taking back sunday is my favorite band
Damn, I love this performance, they are so perfect as a band
Slight correction... this was the BEST time to see The Promise Ring.
Historical document.
I saw them right after this for my bday. Best present ever. Them with Rainer Maria at Cats Cradle.

This was a truly great show. Pretty sure Jets to Brazil played this night too.
douglawless really?!? Wow. And i bet it was $5 cover. What happened to life?
It got pricey.
Wtf 5 and no 8$ processing fee from the ticket seller.
@Keegan C I agree. And did Jimmy Eat World open with two drummers on Lucky Denver Mint?
Love watching the drummer keeping it tight on Perfect Lines
this is great. so glad I got to see them way back, still wear their hoodie all the time.
Hey I think this was at RKNDY! I was there. I think I'm the tall head on the right lol.
Pretty sure I bought my copy of Nothing feels good there in the lobby
So tight
Sound better live imo
Wow, also just realized they play Jersey Shore a year before Happiness... was released.
This is crazy. I feel like all the shows ive ever been to no one gets into the music like this. Neither the band nor the audience.
Armando Menagarcia ... uhh you don’t go to enough shows
love this
lol anyone else see the drummer in the back with the crazy faces he's making as he drums? Love it.
Best drummer. Ever.
