Well done bro.. Im Malaysian who live in NZ and my nasi lemak habis licin org NZ makan bro.. Thy really love it.. Ive look at ur video to prepare the nasi lemak and let me share my recipe.. All wht u did was awesome but u might wanna try this > For the sambal, please add 1 or 2 cups of ikan bilis to ur blended chillies/garlic/onions.. Blend all together.. The add-on of the anchovies to your blended ingredients will taste better.. The blended anchovies will gv the umami taste.. When u fried the blended ingredients/sambal, make sure u hv enough cooking oil, once u start seeing the bubble of the oils (pecah minyak) start to add the palm sugar and taste it to your liking.. No need salt anymore as u have the anchovies blended together.. U can still add another fried anchovies as the condiment.. Menawhile for the nasi lemak, my tips, buy beras beriani, rendam or soak wt the pipe water for 30 mins , throw out the water, and then cook the beras like how u did.. The reason to soak the beras is to get a cooked nasi lemak which is not too sticky.. The end result of the nasi lemak will become like the nasi kukus, u can see each butir of the nasik.. Ok bro.. All the best ...oh ya, another one thing for the dried chillies(cili kering), the market usually will sell 2 types of cili kering, please choose the less spicy one.. ✌️

Poor Rachel with the cleaning up. It really looks like a Malaysian kitchen. I have seen on tv some kitchens in Europe and US where they put cooking books, photo frames near the stoves, they cook with long sleeve shirts and nice dresses, everything and everyone look so clean, tidy, dry and oil splatter -free. Nuh uh that doesn't happen when you cook sambal and curry yo
Just watched yr videos of Malaysian food (Ramly burger & Nasi lemak). It was awesome. Now I'm craving to hv both at the same time. Congrats to Kumar & Rachel. 👍👍
The way to fold so that it looks like triangle: * On one side (let's call it side A), put right side of the banana leaf on top of the left side. * On side B, put left side of banana leaf on top of the right side. * Fold both side A and B, then you'll get perfect triangle. Done! Idk if you get the instruction, im bad at giving instructions without picture. So sorry. P/s: your sambal looks legit.
It's either the cameraman is doing a good job or you really owned the kitchen like a Masterchef coz you look really skilled prepping all those stuff. Nice.

Nasi lemak is perfect for someone on a diet, really. Its perfect 😇. Just joking, it is hard to resist a perfectly fried sambal with the perfect balance of proportions for dried chilli, belacan , assam, salt, sugar, oil. A perfect sambal and perfectly cooked coconut rice with alleber, ginger slices, pandan leaves, crispy fresh fried peanuts, ikan bilis, telur rebus, and lovingly wrapped inside a lovingly cleaned fresh, green banana leaf wrapper. Perfect
Same feeling , this is torture. I’m stuck in Singapore and can’t fly home to kedah for authentic Nasi lemak ~ #cries Love the effort , but looks so daunting to cook everything from scratch 🤣
You forgot an important instruction: "Best eaten with teh o ais". I don't know if Teh Botol (Indonesian brand) is available in US' shelf. The closest taste of Malaysian kind of tea.
Key takeout is that Rachel is very obliging to help in the whole malaysia thing. Ie happy to help Yogesh embellish the Malaysian culture, which is really nice and generous. Btw I’m Malaysian and married to an Australian.
I remembered when I was in the States back in the 90s, nasi lemak was the easiest dish to make....esp.if you ate it during the winter....a real comfort food for a Malaysian student...👍
We are in the San Francisco Bay Area. You can find most of the ingredients here, but we did have to use the belacan we brought back last time we went to Malaysia
A foolproof way to cook the rice for nasi lemak is to soak it first for 30mins before cooking. Also, if you don’t use fresh santan, you need to add water to your coconut milk because it is a thick consistency and the recommended ratio is 1:1.
Very nice presentation of nasi lemak...from the arranging until the folding part truly like locals did in Malaysia, keep it true and keep it local...so proud of Kumaar Family 😍👍👍👍🇲🇾

That is OG Nasi Lemak that you can literally find at the makcik's stall....legit Nasi Lemak.. Tq so much for introducing this food to your friends.. Love3 this content
11:02 as a malaysian, I have never been more baffled by seeing someone eat nasi lemak with chopsticks😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
Me too..
Yeah and fork ._.
The real cook of sambal, the stove got all messy with the small splash of boiling sambal 🤣🤣🤣 it's normal.
Eat nasi lemak a day will get you to doctor one day 🤣 but i love it as malaysian breakfast.
Hahahaha! Rachel was not so happy about having to clean the stove afterwards 😅
Eat nasi lemak a day will get your to the doctor one day 🤣😂😅 Never heard that one before!
i myself eat nasi lemak everyday...bcoz my late mom had a stall of nasi lemak.... now iam 52.. iam warded n did apoinmnt wth the doktor only during my confinemnt🤪😁😄..... insyaAllah....iam healty now👌
u must put more oil
Wow. Ure a great cook! Thank you for presenting the ‘real’ nasi lemak to ur neighbourhood. This definitely what Authentic Nasi Lemak is!
Although i use hand to eat rice but for nasi lemak i prefer to use spoon.
Poser sangaattt
The way to fold so that it looks like triangle:
* On one side (let's call it side A), put right side of the banana leaf on top of the left side.
* On side B, put left side of banana leaf on top of the right side.
* Fold both side A and B, then you'll get perfect triangle. Done!
Idk if you get the instruction, im bad at giving instructions without picture. So sorry.
P/s: your sambal looks legit.
Bro, you rocks! Thanks for showing the world what is being a Malaysian by way of food!
How smart both of you bungkus nasi lemak..good job guys..love it
It's either the cameraman is doing a good job or you really owned the kitchen like a Masterchef coz you look really skilled prepping all those stuff. Nice.

Hahaha! Go get some!!
I’m stuck in Singapore and can’t fly home to kedah for authentic Nasi lemak ~ #cries
Love the effort , but looks so daunting to cook everything from scratch 🤣
@@tenga3tango you are making me hungry
same omg hahaha
You forgot an important instruction:
"Best eaten with teh o ais".
I don't know if Teh Botol (Indonesian brand) is available in US' shelf. The closest taste of Malaysian kind of tea.
Oh man! Next time we’ll have to send some homemade teh o ais with!
Key takeout is that Rachel is very obliging to help in the whole malaysia thing. Ie happy to help Yogesh embellish the Malaysian culture, which is really nice and generous. Btw I’m Malaysian and married to an Australian.
“...sardines...”
I-I LOST MYSELF...

I remembered when I was in the States back in the 90s, nasi lemak was the easiest dish to make....esp.if you ate it during the winter....a real comfort food for a Malaysian student...👍
Syafiq's aunty must be a Malaysia's michelin chef
You make me wish I can taste her food ugh 💯
The kids reaction is soo cute, I hv tears in my eyes.

The best comments, funny and cute came from Laila and Henry. I cant scratch the spiciness off my tongue LoL. Your sambal looks drooling Kumaar.
Where are you guys? You have all the ingredients for your nasi lemak.
We are in the San Francisco Bay Area. You can find most of the ingredients here, but we did have to use the belacan we brought back last time we went to Malaysia
This is a creative video...good job. All your volunteers are experts in food critique too.
Thanks for your kind words! Very glad our friends were willing to try something new ☺️ I’ll let them know they should become food critics, haha!
Usually if the rice is undercook, u can try steaming it with a steamer
Wahhh bro u pandai masak Nasi lemak Aku memang pandai makan saja..hebat u bro
I’m a new subscriber and i’ve been binge watching your videos all night !! Love you guys
That is fun community comment about nasi lemak... I love this video it...
A foolproof way to cook the rice for nasi lemak is to soak it first for 30mins before cooking. Also, if you don’t use fresh santan, you need to add water to your coconut milk because it is a thick consistency and the recommended ratio is 1:1.
Yup..add some water with fresh santan..
Never heard before soak the rice for 30 minutes before cooking. Just rinse the rice 2, 3 times then cook.
Thanks for the advice!!

"So spicy!!"
"Do you wanna eat more?"
