The Schenker era of UFO produced some of the greatest music I’ve ever heard. 😎
Absolutely...... then it goes....
on and on and on...
He is the undisputed guitar God of our lifetime...60yrs old
started listening to phil and pete and michael in jr high.....
I agree
Space Metal great Album
totally agree.
One of the best . I grew up with him. After all these years still glad he is alive and kicking
And he still looks young for his age.
He is already 69 years old, an impressive and cool guy.
You just had one of the masters walk in your shop. Mr Schenker is a total badass. There are only a handful of guitarist you can recognize by hearing them without seeing who it is. Michael is one of them. He had survived through the rough times and is still here to tell it. He is the man!!!!
Plus jeff beck gary moore steve hackett Brian may tommy emmanuel Andy Latimer steve vai he's still sounds very dated
Oh man, This is my guy! from the Scorpions to UFO, to MSG to now! This guy was my generation's Van Halen, just right before Eddie blew up.
Seen him live loads of times, he’s the greatest guitarist in my opinion
I saw Michael live for the first time in 1977 opening for Rush(an amazing show by the way). He stood there on the right side of the stage, blonde hair covering his face, just shredding. Always a fan
Although shredding is something he never did. Thank god for that.
@@blender1188 70s version of shredding 😂
I saw the same tour, in San Francisco
Michael is one of the most interesting guitar players we’ve ever seen or heard. Followed him since the UFO days and he is still one of our favorites. We could watch him plays for hours! 🎧🙏🏻
Interesting is not the right word. It’s more about his feel and melody. Musically it’s not that interesting and very repetitive. Not sure if that’s a bad thing though.
Here's what Schenker said about EVH. "I love Eddie's playing, you know, he's for me, by far the best guitar player. And even though I wasn't listening to music, you could never get away [from] hearing [it] anywhere... And so really, he was fascinating. I mean, he's my favorite guitar player."
His bass player’s (Dutchman Barend Courbois) dad played drums with The Jan van Halen Sextet. At the time when the Van Halen family were living in Nijmegen, The Netherlands.
His name is Pierre Courbois and even now, he’s still a drummer!
Strangers in the night, you can't listen to better guitar playing
I have always gotten positive vibes from Michael. I can't say the same of some of the other guitar heroes I've had. Once I began to learn more about them it could be an enormous let down. Not so with M.S.
Schenker is a fine guitarist. Underrated
The French guy and the German guy are using English to communicate. Europe is cool.
michael still hass his humor so glaad he is a awsome man
He's an absolute genius !!!
Nice to see u again Michael....looking sounding. Great. U.F.O...FOREVER...
Carrément M. Schenker ! C'est la grande classe. Merci !
Avec plaisir !!
Un des plus grands guitaristes de hard rock pas assez cité à mon goût. Compositeur, virtuose, un touché et un son uniques.
He is THE BEST!!!! I just love him!!!
Love me some Michael!!!!!!!!
How is he only 30 years old still?!
How he’s getting on at 69.5 is just fantastic.
Is that a radio station?
Very Nice and Easy going Guy ❤ nothing Complicated or Ego Player !!! Heard Good !! Feels Good!!! I’m Happy He Say!! ❤🎉❤😂🎉 Agree!!
Ok, what I've learnt after watching this video and reading the comments are two things:
Michael doesn't like to shake hands and Michael doesn't like to look like an old man.
These are two things that I also don't like. The only little difference between him and me is that he is the best guitar player and I am not.
Please, more of those videos...!!!
More coming!!
Does this guy ever age ??
I remember seeing him for the first time back in 1981 when the first MSG album came out ( I was a little kid ) and he has hardly changed at all...
And he plays 2 and a half/3 hour shows ?? Wow...
Haha same i was flying to Mexico in i think 85 and saw Him at LAX AirPort … we took a Photo together i was a mad fan Of MSG … he looked the same then And towered above me
@@bobbyarthur-yf3yf Sweet memories 👍👍
A mi parecer simplemente el mejor guitarrista de Heavy Metal! M.Schenker ⭐️🤘🍺
UFO albums are MASTERPIECES!!!!
Yes, especially Strangers In The Night.
@@philfyphil that and the entire Force It album
The Schenker ones are. The Paul Chapman ones are mediocre. High Stakes & Dangerous Men with Laurence Archer is excellent. You are Here with Vinnie Moore is also well crafted, but the stand out UFO albums are the 7 studio albums with Michael Schenker & SITN.
@@johnnyrocker7495 I saw UFO on the No Place To Run tour. Chapman mullered every Schenker SITN song.
I also saw UFO on the Walk On Water tour which was Schenker’s return to the band. His playing & solo-ing was note perfect as was his live reproduction of the album new songs.
Iv seen Michael Schenker live with his own band many times. He has always excelled.
Laurence Archer on the High Stakes tour was the only guitarist who could reproduce Schenker’s excellence. Michael Schenker at 67 is still performing UFO SITN songs note perfect. Richie Faulkner recorded Lights Out on his album with his new band Elegant Weapons & it is a superb rendition.
very melodic.... this was cool
A UFO patch, love it.
Michael Schenker is a legend himself.
His English skills, too
EXCELLENT.
Thank you!
This came out a while ago. Schenker 🤘🏼🎸🎶💫💫🎵🎶🎵💫🔆🌀
Giant fan of MS since the early 80s-He has always inspired my playing abilities since day one-MS helped build the metal scene and the emotion he puts into his playing is fantastic-Today all we get is 11 yr old kids trying to shred faster then the next kid- THATS NOT MUSIC OR CREATIVITY
Tripping . Micheal is eccentric . Probably hard to work with like has been written for years . But that's a genius for you . Strangers in The Night still is my favorite live album . , He is the great grandfather of a style of 70's hard rock and he's still relatively young . Been bending string since he was in diapers
Long Live MS
A living legend with its excentricities as all genious minds 😂
Schenker is my guitar God. 🐐
My mom is German and I'll say this with total respect, Germans are serious no nonsense people.
I worked with German clients and partners for more than 9 years in a big operation, and they can be as nonsensical as anyone else. They're regular people, like you and me.
It's only due to cultural traits they're very assertive when speaking, and also (for some reason I wasn't able to determine) very well trained at pointing fingers to others, making you believe they're so right and you're so wrong. But they won't catch you off-guard once you're able to recognise such potential situations, and then you can make their logic trip and tumble, since it isn't better than any other.
Take Michael Schenker, we all love him. He doesn't listen to new music because he doesn't want to get influenced. It sounds like it makes sense when you first hear it. But then you think about it, and it doesn't make sense at all, because you grow by constantly taking and sharing, not by remaining isolated.
Schenker isn’t bald. I saw a recent wedding shot without the hat.
🤣
He's clinging to scraps
I've gotten into U.F.O/Scorpions over the last couple of years. I knew of the Scorpions "Rock you like a Hurricane." But, I didn't explore their 70's material till the last couple of years. I had heard of U.F.O. and said that I should check em out for many years. And. only in the last couple of years have I finally dived into 70's Scorpions and U.,F.O. I know T-Bone Walker!
I of course know the Briitsh Blues/Rock scene. That was my first main thing - really John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and then Peter Green Fleetwood Mac - beyond the obvious Led Zeppelin/Cream/Jimi Hendrix.
The 60s(and 70s) British Blues/Rock was my father's main vinyl record collection; but, he did have one American Blues record - a T-Bone Walker! Most of it was Jazz and Jump Blues which is okay; but, there's a couple of songs on there that will absolutely blow you away!
Listening to T-Bone Walker is like the "Back to the Future" scene where they're playing ballroom Jazz, and then Michael J Fox goes off on a Chuck Berry and then 80's heavy metal licks . .. and then goes back to ballroom Jazz horn section! But T.Bone Walker did lataer make more modern good all around songs, and with great guitar. His discography is pretty hard to dig up; but, it's well worth it!
Ce gars est une légende ! 🤩
C’est clair!
This man can play guitar,
At 3:42…. This guitar looks so cool. Just looks like Schenker!!!
Noisemaker!🙂
Ufo foreverrrrrrrr

I am quite sure that I saw this same video years ago
Yes! That’s why we said it’s coming from the archives for this new video
Annoying isn’t it, a like and a block for the channel.
Россия слушает.Live Michel!
Seen him with ufo then msg always great player and showman, was not even a teenager when I saw him with ufo it’s great to see him going strong,at the time no one thought he would make 40 years old
50 + years*
BABY MICHAEL !!!WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN THISMAGICAL BOX OF LIGHT.JAIL KINGOF ALL GALAXIANS🏴✌️😎
He looks very healthy for his age.
So cool, love Schenkers playing! Is your shop in London?
Paris.
Super Star
I love you Mike. You are the best......
James Hetfield named Micheal Schenker as one of his most important inspiration. Wow
Surprised he doesn't know of T. Bone Walker.
He is from Hanover, Germany. Post WW2, I am sure it wasn't as easy to get records back then as easily as UK or Canada. I mean, You have to be old enough to remember the world before the internet, and like my uncles who sailed the world via Merchant Marine vessels.
@@mikeykimm6719 probably never heard of beethoven either
Virgin Killer was a Great album....
Seems like he and Rudy are 180 degrees different.
Avoided handshake- wanted a "high five!"..... Interesting.
Covid..I don't care to shake hands either a "fist bump" works for me just fine.
Cant remember the exact year😅..but seen ufo..around 79 or 80..🤘✌
Schenker bombed out during the usa tour in 1978 and was replaced with Paul Chapman.
@@kevinstreet220он не провалился, он ушел из UFO.
A saw him with UFO they were really hot , He also mentioned cassettes , I'm hearing that again from a lot of people.
One would assume that people who follow this channel would be interested in guitar players. And yet all this crap on Michael. Embarrasing. One of the greatest ever, and he can look how the hell he wants to look.
Listen to his song Captain Nemo, it's a real toe tapper
1:00 that was the most awkward greeting ive seen in a while. haha
Haha...yeah it left me feeling a bit funny. Like the guy was going in for hug. 🤣
I had to cover my mouth. It was the most embarrassing high five I've seen on RUclips. Maybe it will find it's way into a compilation. ^^
Most awkward high-five ever. Oh boy. Someone's guitar hero was deleted in that second. ^^
No shit. He is an oddball. But I don’t care. He is not my friend but I friggin love UFO
@@johnunderwood3132me too mate, I've been playing guitar for 50 years and the 70s UFO Schenker era was such a big influence on me. Fkn love it.
Interesting that he never heard of T-Bone Walker! 🤔
He was influenced by that generation of guitarists.
Not a huge fan of his style. But he seems like a cool guy, and he looks cool as fuck
His style is awesome…scorpions is one the greatest bands
He don't look cool ridiculous now it's 2024 may be years ago
Seems way younger than he is....
He does!
Майкл и его гитары- сами легенды. Зачем ему гитара Хендрикса или еще чья- то? Тем более, что Хендрикса он от Ули наслушался
James Marshall Hendrix and is fender guitar 🎸 legends more than a legend and Hendrix also played the Gibson flying v long before Michael schenker. Hendrix number one always will be number one
Why's this dude look so young ???
Because he hasn't had a drink for 15 years and never smoked. And good genes helps.I mean his brother Rudolf is 75 and still touring like crazy.
When the guitar neck turns away at the end, you should think about whether you should really film with this crazy angle. Otherwise: Thank you
MS wasn’t interested in the T Bone Walker or the Jimi Hendrix guitar whatsoever.
The rest of us would have jumped at the chance to even have it in our hands for just a moment.
I think he might be superstitious
he’s got a preference for a particular guitar that hes been playing for yrs and thats what he prefers and is part of his sound so why would he care about a semi hollow body or a 60s strat? He’s also probably well aware of the weirdos on the internet who would be quick to say stupid shit like “he doesn’t deserve to play that or hold it” or “it sounds like shit in his hands”
@@knightfall9394
We all have a preference, still every single one of us including those artists peers would have at least asked if they could hold it and possibly play it through an amp.
I guess it’s just how MS rolls.
He’s definitely a different breed.
How he look so young?
That's the first thing I thought too.
Same
This seem to be an old video, guy is 69 in 2024, so this must be 10 years ago? Too bad they don't put true dates in videos, kind of clickbaity
The video must be from 2019, because he mentioned Ted McKenna who passed away in January of this year.🤓
@@GerryBlue Yeah I could've sworn I've seen this video before.

Michael was trying to be friendly with the high five, chill out boys and girls.
Do the neighbors ever complain?
"Play and discover" (not practice)....Damn, that's inspirational. It's what I've always done, only no one listens to my music. I also don't play like this guy.
il ne connais pas T Bone Walker c'est étonnant pour un pro de la guitare !! souvenirs des supers années UFO 🙂
What a f****** row.
Shenker, best guitar player ever. Period
Now in his 60s still blows them all away.
All these speed metal players are pro at scaling, no feeling no song writing skills
To ALL the Naysayers, ..Listen to this, ruclips.net/video/p9D2JhV4zrE/видео.html The GREATEST Guitar solo you will ever hear ! ( and an AMAZING 'Live' Album ) His 80's style playing was unbelievable !

What’s w the hat? He never takes it off
We can all geus what's going on underneath, honestly don't blame him, people do not respond well to rock stars losing their hair, very shallow.
@@MrShadowofthewind yeah that’s what I figured. I mean. I’d just shave my head
Hair has NOTHING to do with music.
A lot of musicians are very superstitious.. This might very well have been Michael's reason, for not touching Jimi's guitar.. Wonder what he hides under his grandmothers hat though ;-)
Will there be any Floating Points Flight V Signature guitar any sooner? I don't know. I'm still sobering. Namastè.
We have his Dean V for sale at the shop though ;)
Signature of who?
the french is a french jajaja
so he is standing next to jimmy’s guitar and didn’t care much 😮 and then just walk to the Flying V guitar ?😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It’s clearly edited. Notice the jump: He may have played it.
Почему это его должно волновать? Майкл сам гитарный Бог! Пусть другие волнуются рядом с его гитарой.
It's wrong to say, but come on. Michael as always been better then rooty. Don't get me wrong, he's good. For the scorpions. He could never go Solo and really doesn't have an audience. Hell the black and white v, he plays Michael gave to him. Scorpions do to many fairwell tours. I want to see Michael shenker. Not really running out to see scorpions.

Being a big fan of Michael Schenker & the fact he wouldn't even touch Jimmy's Legacy guitar is a disgrace by all means.
Good guitars, bad optics.
Never meet your heroes.
Well looks like the hero is awesome
I would love to meet Michael. Brilliant player that's living a happy life. Him not having a good relationship with his brother has nothing to do with me or the music. Just admit that you are a Scorpions stan.
