We also lent him our 1958 Gibson Flying V Korina Aka Virginia to play the whole encore on stage that night!

04:19 "it's what I used with Gary when we started Michael Schenker Group with Simon Philips in the early 80s" -- He can't mean he was playing Dean back then. He was playing Gibson for sure and his Dean association/ endorsement came quite a bit later. Maybe 2004 ish?
Probably means that its a black and white V, not that its literally that guitar which was Gibson of course.

Many don't know he almost lost everything in the 1990s to alcohol. Had a divorce that forced him to sell some of his prized guitars. Really down and out. But pulled it together, stopped drinking, got healthy and got back on top of his game. Got to hand it to him.

Oh man, This is my guy! from the Scorpions to UFO, to MSG to now! This guy was my generation's Van Halen, just right before Eddie blew up.
I played a show with him and David Lynch. He had no interest in meeting anyone. Walked to the stage from his bus, played, walked straight back to his bus.
I think his natural personna is shy. I've found many guitarists to be quite sensitive people, some with oddball ways that sometimes comes across as arrogant, but often not the case. Micheal is, and was a wonderful innovative player, he inspired many guitarists. And yes I've met him when he was much younger.
He wouldn't sign anything or stay for a few after the show when I saw him. All the other guys were cool. Robin McCauley signed my buddies record and told us Michael didn't travel on the bus and that he never hung out or traveled on the bus. The guys an asshole lol.
Many awkward moments in this short vid, very strange & he’s my all time favorite. He didn’t seem interested in the Hendrix guitar or any others.

First heard MS on obsession by ufo In ‘78…if you are a guitarist and his playing on obsession doesn’t move you…., your immovable . Very unique style of playing the V, he becomes one with the instrument . Would love to hear his touring stories from the 70s With Rush and a slew of other bands.
Ok, what I've learnt after watching this video and reading the comments are two things: Michael doesn't like to shake hands and Michael doesn't like to look like an old man. These are two things that I also don't like. The only little difference between him and me is that he is the best guitar player and I am not.

He is from Hanover, Germany. Post WW2, I am sure it wasn't as easy to get records back then as easily as UK or Canada. I mean, You have to be old enough to remember the world before the internet, and like my uncles who sailed the world via Merchant Marine vessels.
