Today were installing a carbon creations track spoiler on my genesis coupe!
Definitely not as easy as I thought and for sure need to find a better way to mount it but it works for now I guess lol.

If you heat up that sticky tape with a heat gun it sticks crazy hard. I used that on cheap gopro mounts before, and well good luck getting that off. Also you can use two layers of that tape to fill up those gaps.
This is the only video I could find on the internet that showed how to take the wing off... so thank you for that. I hope your carbon fibre wing stays on. I'm taking the original off to sand and repaint.

Drill the mounting points on the wing, tap the holes you drilled using a tap and dye set, thread the oem studs in with a 2 part epoxy. Still use 3m tape to assist.
Use clay Bar and soapy water it takes the residue tape off quick👍

Dude the wing goes crazy hard. Just be safe and assure it’s not losing grip. I don’t know to much about spoilers. If you do find out a better way to secure it please do an update I’m interested in this spoiler. Overall GREAT CONTENT ‼️
Although the 3M tape works definitely drill holes into the spoiler worst case scenario it could fly off possibly even hit a car driving behind you or somebody in the area that watches your videos could easily take it off your car knowing that it’s 3M tape 👍🏻
yeah put some clear all weather silicone on the edges. it'll keep the 3M intact and water wont get in there. BK2 already has water in the trunk issues dont make it worse
If those are marks in the paint you can always compound and polish the paint right there by hand. Or do a whole video on detailing your car to I did mine the other day with the polisher. She looks so much shinier.
Yeah, pretty good chance that'll fly off. Now that it's mounted how you want it you could just drill holes for studs into the spoiler and set them in with JB Weld. After sitting for a day to cure you can tighten your nuts and then you'll be good to go for highway speeds.
Toggle bolts with weather stripping material in-between wing and trunk to seal.
Just a free mod you can unscrew it abit on rear screws and add some rubber hose underneath to make spoiler abit higher looks 10x better ;)

If the mounting area is thick and not hollow maybe drilling it putting in a couple of threaded lags with some good glue/epoxy then put it in a couple threaded studs and bolt it all together in your trunk with nuts from inside the trunk like the stock wing.I don't think the wing would work well with the rear window deflector the air is bouncing right off it never hitting the wing only a wind tunnel would prove that your stock part would of been fine it was made not just for looks the wing on the SRT4 worked also at 120+ mph.

Using black silicone from Walmart or AutoZone is better! Covers every corner and it sticks better without coming off

I'm tell you from my personal perspective, as a Service Technician, I try and clean that 3M tape up more. You winter drive this. Salt and tape dont mix well. Has the company messaged you yet?
Yea I winter drive this and I never thought about that, will definitely get it cleaned up! And I actually heard back from them a few hours ago, they said "customer needs to install riv nuts to the wing and bolt it on". Not the answer I was looking for haha but I guess its a point in the right direction.

I need the M&S R4TEN ABS Spoiler for mine. But I plan to get performance before I do wheels and spoiler.
Looks good asf but no mounting instructions and it bothers me that there isn’t a brake light on the trunk, feel like it would block view from the brake light in the back glass.
Thanks man! And I know really annoying they didn't include any instructions or hardware. Honestly it may be harder to see if you have the stock tails but the spec d's have super bright reverse lights so its not to hard to see!

@@officialaustenmorpho3224 Its actually still mounted the same way except I added latex/silicone caulk around the edges to keep the water out but its holding up great if you try to move the wing it moves the whole trunk. Honestly though If I were you id go with the stock wing over this one to ensure proper mounting I have no clue the best way to get this one mounted, I'm still pretty bummed that the wing didn't come with any hardware or pre drilled holes like the stock has you wouldn't think it'd be that hard for the company to do it but I guess not lol

Glad to hear you at least got it secured good now, i do agree it shouldnt be much to ask for the company to have it come with holes and installation requirements, that really sucks. Based on your advice then ill probably be getting the stock wing and wrapping it carbon fiber until i can find the real deal somewhere!!! Thanks again for the reply my man 💯

How about some transparent silicone around the mounting area and wipe off the excess? That’s what I did years ago with my genny’s roof antena and never had any issues.
I was thinking about trying that actually, it seems to be pretty secure as is so hopefully if I touch it up with that there will never be any problems!
ethanW you know, I might be overthinking it but maybe as a test you can mount a camera facing the rear spoiler, cross the border to Mexico and do some high speed tests to see how it handles the downforce.

That's what I'm saying lmao, this coming weekend im going to get it properly mounted. Seal it off around the edges with some sort of adhesive and then drill some bolts into it through the stock holes, should be good to go then!

@@FatalFist Yea I talked about it in another vid but pretty much all I did was use the tape then use silicone/latex caulk to seal the wing around the edges so water cant get it! So far its holding up perfect and if you try to move the wing it moves the whole trunk!

I wanna install a tall spoiler on my track, but if I do, I’ll just have holes on my trunk, and a spoiler, My second suggestion was just to buy a new trunk and then install the spoiler on it. Idk what to do
Honestly man Id say your best bet is a new trunk, I thought about it when I installed this one but decided not to just because this wing covers/uses the stock holes

How did you end up mounting it? Just got myself a Coupe a week ago and looking at putting a spoiler on it, didn’t have one when I bought it. Would love to do the carbon fiber wing!
So I used automotive grade 3m and get it on the trunk, then latex caulk to seal it off and make it water tight, then just drive some bolts through the existing holes in the trunk into the spoiler ( i see you said there are none, i just have mine mounted with 3m and caulk as of now and its been fine). I still need to do that last thing!
ethanW if you do the bolts make a video on it. I would really like to see how you do it. Was either going to do the carbon fiber wing or wrap a unpainted one that had the hardware

Are there any imperfections in the carbon and how long did it take to get there i am looking into one but i here mixed reviews about carbon creations
Its not 100% perfect but its pretty close, it took a little over 2 weeks to arrive

Thats rice man you shouldve gone the right way which I know takes longer but spoilers are meant to hold downforce.
