When tennis balls now begin existing in my current blender project, this will help very much with the house i'm tryna design in blender in a way it both being lived in but also being displayed
@Dyslexic Mitochondria ok
A tennis ball would be a great decoration for the house ;D
Why not turn the tennis ball into a house?
@@DangericeDreams cause is not my goal, my goal is beyond your understanding XD
Ah yes a tennis ball ...just what I needed
Edit:
Wow 1k yayyyy

You don't actually need Extra Objects for this! Just subdivide a normal cube, select all in edit mode, then Shift+Alt+S to project to sphere!
Pin this comment please
i was literally questioning if this is a troll video because of that. xD like woah thats the longest way to go about doing that lol.
That's how most experienced blender users do it. Thanks, tired of click bait like videos
this. Dude added so many unnecessary steps. Lmao. Title clickbaity af.

I thought I would see an unprecedented new modeling technique, but I see a tutorial for modeling tennis balls like a pro. Can you imagine a portfolio full of tennis balls?
I mean, a well modeled tennis ball would be a good addition
Great tutorial, but I really hate the YT shorts format, I can't go back in the video if I miss a step, I have to rewatch the whole thing
In the url link you can remove the "shorts" there and replace it with "watch" then you have it like a normal yt video =)
@@Pepnoable thanks
@@Pepnoable never knew that thats sick thanks bro
Just share the link to a text file.
I have tons of them
@@Pepnoable And I, the stupid web developer who knows what GET-variables are, always replaced shorts/ with watch?v=
Those were two more unnecessary keystrokes.
Perhaps I should just write a browser add-on that adds a button to every short to do that.
ah yes, when i decide i suddenly want to model tennis balls, ill be sure to use this.
This would actually work perfect for making spots for eye mesh to go
Thank you thank you! These vids are soooo much better than Blender Guru, that guy is so annoying all he does is sell his material packs, he doesnt teach shit imo.
sure it might be good for rendering, but in a games aspect, or even an environment in blender, you want to try and keep the poly count as low as possible, if youre gonna have a lot going on, the more polys you have, the longer its gonna take to process things and potentially cause a crash. The tennis ball white strip could easily just be added with textures and a normal map
u could make a high poly version with the video's method and normal bake to a lower poly version tho
of course for game engines.. you need to bake maps or you can just delete the subsurf modifier
@@Habanecro depends how mich time u have. Model a complete HP Model for a LP mesh is sometimes overkill.
Depends on how important is the ball itself in the given game, if it is just a background object you don't even need anything, just a low round cube with textures.
But if it is like the main character of the game, this might work perfectly fine. These are not even that many polygons.
Thanks you for blender tutorial
It’s amazing how bottomless the out of shortcuts to make things is.
Would probably take me a whole day if I was to model this myself 😅
Well this will certainly help, thank you.
Glad to hear it!
@@BlenderArt I unironically find it very useful, so many people want tutorials that equal to a google image search. Not me.
Just starting with game development, appreciate the tips brotha🤙🔥
Nice!
you can also make the quad sphere without the extra objects addon by subdividing the original cube and then applying a shape cast modifier to make it a sphere
Yeah veri simlpe 😳🙂
Cool!!!!!😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you. your quick tennis ball tutorial helped me to model this fox I was working on. I just followed the tutorial and I had an entire fox.
Cool
Very nice video to follow along to! thank you
Awesome! Thanks!
No problem!
nice tip , unfortunately i need the tris count as minimal as possible so i will most likely avoid subdividing
Nice
Thats f#€king genius!!!!!
Yes very easy
I love how he just begins with out we know what he makes

Love your shorts friend. Thanks!
Thank you too!
Lol you had me… then you lost me 😂 im getting my computer to work on some stuff and try things now 💯
An easier way to get a sphere like that is subdivide then use a cast modifier.
cool
Yes easy easy easy
❤👌
You made it look very easy😊
Genius method !
This is use full but for a small object like a tennis ball I'll just stick to using normal maps because unreal can only load so many faces at a time
Good one
You could just skip some steps by adding the subdivision surface modifier to a cube
the process in vanilla is to add subd (ctrl,3) then cast (to sphere, factor =1) then apply modifiers.. (used to be apply, now its convert to mesh)
How is that less steps to get a quadsphere?
Hmm!!! A tennis ball. Easy peasy.
Finally i can make tennis balls more efficiently
That sphere that u added seems to be like a subdivided cube tbh
Do you make tutorials?
I need somebody to assume( correctly) that I am clueless about the functions and capabilities of the basic tools..
❤
Beginners has been upgraded
holy mother of long way around
You're a god
Ty!!
Everybody on the internet slow rolls every useless video to keep dummies in suspense, but useful tutorials speed through it to make dummies watch 9 times and mock them with a nonchalant, "easy right" lol thankyou for the tutorial. I downloaded the manual, now I have to take some time to organize that mess into some readable form with a sensible order of prerequisites. Then some time in the future I may begin retraining myself to move an object
you forgot that after the extrusion dont move the mouse, clic, and then scale it
Thats true and the really hard thins to learn and express about blender and 3d, so many right click and hold click options
To get the cube, you can subdivide a cube and apply a cast modifier and set it to sphere.
Thanks for sharing sir, this's really useful
You are welcome
This guy's a fuckin genius 😂❤❤
why not just create a normal map for this and use a low poly sphere instead? its much more optimized than what you did here.
You are one of the best! Awesome channel.
Wow, thanks!
We can do this with less moves and no add ons. When you rely on impressing people with add ons you miss the true opportunity of speed and efficiency that you need. Just saying
Cube, subdiv(smooth to one), option select edges, bevel, extrude (individual origins), cmd+ to get all faces, switch to edges, crease, subdiv modifier.
No addons
“Stop modeling like a begginer” procedes to make begginer mistakes…
what was it?? feel free to share your knowledge with us
Awesome!! I remember wondering how in the world you'd model something like a baseball with the stitching patterns
this is a good idea
What does relax even do? I didn't notice anything
That just sounds like beveling with extra steps
What you're modeling determines what approach you'd use, clickbait cause the title is misleading.
Just Shift A add a cube, Ctrl+2, apply subdiv. takes only 5 sec. Why to get a round cube
well beginner's probably need many options and many knowledge about a new software.. that's why I tried to introduce many add-ons in a short video ..so that's gonna help beginners a lot
@@BlenderArt yes thats right, there are too many addons which is never used but beginners need to know
@@BlenderArt I for one applaud your courage and commend you on your success, alot of comments seem really butthurt for no reason, literally projecting haha and its obvious why
i dont even have blender installed
my head rn 😫
me who plays tennis but never thought of using a tennis ball in blender and watching this video:
my brain: MAKE ME A TENNIS COURT
Tenis racket?
a tenis match animation?
Could have done with a texture and a normal map and be game ready
yea... easy
Hey!
So, I have this playlist I named "I need those", in which I put videos that are useful for me.
Yours absolutely fell in that category, so I tried adding it.
But I just found out there is no button to put a shorts in a playlist
So, I would like to kindly request a video where you give more of those tips, but not as a RUclips short.
Please :)
wow that looked so easy, but i dont know everything youve clicked lol
how do i use spin tool? how do i find it?
I'm just beginning 3d.... And I have already bought Cinema 4d and V ray for couple though dollars😢. Should I trash those and start blender?
Instructions unclear…made Dark Lord Tiness -Bla, destroyer of Worlds
Actually this is exactly what I was looking for wtf
How can we use this same trick with similar projects?
Is it optimized though??
so basically, you're saying that having unnecessary vertices in your scene is better than simply slapping a tennis ball texture on with way lower vertex count
Wow that looks so easy!(sarcasm)
What were u making, what does that thing do, and why does that thing do that
Good Tennis ball tutorial, but has nothing to do with the title
I m a beginner in blender applications so can anyone will give me ideas regarding this application
I dont have the menu for changing the radius of the cube and stuff what key do
I use??
if you use a MacBook it's probably on the top of your screen
i have seen the light.
omg bro
Every time I use subdivision the object always wrapped in the box and doesn’t show any points, pls help :((
when i press e its just 1 line i cant make it inwards
Ittni settings daiya re daiya 😀😂😂😂
😍😍😍😍
when i do ctrl b it add like 4 different lines
"Stop modeling like a beginner"
Beginners: uhhhh
When he said "Easy right?"..😅
It’s cool in all but I don’t think beginners need tennis balls
why not 😬
It's Agador Spartacus lolol
Instead of “this number” can you say what it is?
Blender should start coming with addons
And now... a golf ball. With all the correct dimples and indentations.
That would take me about 40 years and it would still look crappy.
I find it difficult to figure this out though.
Elo tu polak. English. Hello am polish guy
But what if I am a beginner?
