I think most people think like you Marie. It's not that people are necessarily anti vax, it's more that we want to make our own decisions and some of us would like more or better information and less contradictions and intimidation. Stay positive! Love your content. :)

@@singsbass Yeah but that outlook is implicitly assuming the risk of waiting is lower than the risk of getting vaccinated. Did your doctor say you should wait? At what point do you estimate your grasp of the topic will exceed that of the epidemiologists? Have you neglected other areas of health care while you researched the medicine behind it, or did it start here? I’m genuinely curious about understanding the hesitancy.

Two of you have said you need more information... So what is your plan to get that information? Are you consulting with medical professionals? Following the studies and journals? In my experience the overwhelming majority who say that are using it as a disingenuous excuse to do nothing, or worse, are only listening to politicians and/or social media.

    • @mikeg.4211

@@gregweatherup9596 , that's exactly right. Every credible doctor in the world and every government that isn't Brazil all agree; but these people want "more information". It's a rationalization for being stubbornly selfish and spreading a deadly disease, and trying to make it sound otherwise.

Thank you for sharing! Your story is very similar to mine. I had to get it for work as I was attending a conference that was supposed to start tomorrow in New Orleans. Marie, Each of us must do what we believe is best for our own situation. No apologies needed. I received mine a) because it was required for my job- I am a healthcare worker. B) my wife has a health problem that puts her at high risk and I am a cancer survivor. I have family who absolutely refuse to get it. For my shots, I had no noticable side effects. (I also have degenerative joint disease and always hurt. I did not notice any additional pain from either shot. )
Sadly too many people seem to forget the simple fact that each of us have an opinion for or against, and each of those are equally valid and need to be respected. Keep your head up, you have a great channel

    • @patrickstracener5329

But she's not doing what she believes is best for her. She didn't want to take the vaccine and hell, even thought about moving out of the country.
She's being forced to do what OTHERS believe what's best for her.
      Stop virtue signaling.

And the most notable of those who forget are government and media, both of which are removing speech and opinion from one particular side of the debate....... The one thing that you said that made the most impact - Live in the moment, too many of us spend much of our time worrying about things that we cant do anything about, life is short - we need to live it the best that we can. Here in the UK we don't currently have such strict requirements for a health pass, mainly for international travel, but this may change in the future.

You made that decision yourself and were not influenced by other people either way.We all have the right to choose for ourselves our health choices. However, sometimes, in emergency situations like this pandemic, where our choices can seriously affect our fellow human beings, we need to consider this as well, when making our choices. I am a Health care worker ,,and my job as an EMT requires it. Im also my 92 year old mother’s full time health care giver, so that was also another reason I decided to get the vaccine. Like you , I’ve had the Moderna vaccine (both shots). I had no side effects at all with both shots. I’m so happy that this means your videos will keep coming !!! I love them so much. I got my vaccine(s) as soon as it became available at my local pharmacie in Aix-en-Provence. First shot in March. Second in June. I was in the military during Vietnam, so I have no problem getting vaccines. When I was in the service they gave us 12 different vaccines in boot camp. I got 4 more before leaving for Asia. My second deployment was in Africa, so I got 4 more vaccines. I'm already a walking petri dish. I had absolutely no side effects. I have my Certificat de Vaccination and my Pass Sanitaire (Health Pass) on my phone. I meet friends for coffee/lunch/dinner several times a week in and around Aix and the restaurants always ask for our Pass. I'm also old enough to remember the Polio vaccines were REQUIRED for everyone in the 1950's. Good for you Marie.

Lot's of very opinionated people in the world and many who feel that if people don't agree with them, then they are immediately wrong. You do you and let them worry about them.
I also had the Moderna shots and had similar experience to you, little pain in the arm and a little bit of tiredness after the second shot.

On the first jab the only reaction was my Arm was very sore for a couple of days. That didn't happen on the second jab but I was in bed sick for about 24 hours so it sounds similar.

I'm so glad you got vaccinated and that you shared your story.
This is going to be a long comment and I will tell you my experience of getting the vaccine at the end. But first, this is how I look at vaccines. I don't look at it as being on this side or that side. I look upon it as a duty to my fellow humans. I'm on the side of protecting people from getting sick and dying. I got vaccinated as soon as I could. For me, it's not about the individual. It's about helping all the people by NOT spreading a disease that can kill people. Polio was eradicated because of vaccines. And other diseases as well. #1 It's our responsibility as citizens of the world to take care of each other. We can do that by helping to not spread a disease. How can we do that? By getting vaccinated. Or wearing a mask or staying home. #2 There are some people who cannot take vaccines for health reasons, they are very ill, going through cancer treatment, or they are allergic or some other reason. People that CAN take the vaccine help people who cannot take the vaccine. How? Because by getting vaccinated you are NOT letting the virus spread and mutate.
All that being said, I still believe it is the individuals choice whether or not to take the vaccine. But I really really hope and pray that those who can will get it. I personally believe Covid will never go away because many people, who are able, will choose NOT to get vaccinated and the disease will continue to spread and mutate and we will have to get boosters every year. Just like the Flu.
I live in Texas near Houston. I got an appointment to get my first vaccine in February. They were giving free vaccines at NRG Stadium(it's a football stadium) in Houston. I never had to leave my car. They checked my appointment twice, took my temperature, gave me the vaccine (while I was sitting in my car) and then gave me a proof of vaccine card. They made people wait fifteen minutes after getting the vaccine before leaving. Second vaccine was the same procedure. I really didn't have much of a reaction to the vaccine. A little soreness on my arm and the second vaccine I felt icky for a couple of days and that was it. Now you can just go to the pharmacy like Walgreens and get a vaccine. Very easy. And the Pfizer vaccine has been approved by the FDA now. That is the vaccine I got. My cousin who it retired military volunteered to be a part of a program testing the Pfizer vaccine. I am so thankful to people like her. Military personnel have to get many many vaccines because they are stationed all over the world. Vaccines have prevented many illnesses that used to kill people. And the vaccines they come up with today are much safer than in the past. I just hope people will do their research and look at the science in regards to vaccines.

It's great to hear you speak out about this topic. It's something that should be discussed openly because there is much at stake.
It makes me sad that you had to take the shot, in order for you to keep going about your daily life, and not out of free will.
Governments around the world are pushing this "mandatory" system to someway persuade people to get it, I use quotation cause in some countries it's not a law, but it's very evident how they make it feel "mandatory". I've had the luck not to get the shot yet.
I encourage people to check out and study the laws in their countries a bit, it will be of great help to understand the position you find yourself in and the choices you have available.
Everyone should be free to decide what they do with their own lives.
Anyway, much respect to you Marie, thank you for bringing great content to the channel. I wish you the very best, you pretty flower 🌼 🌻 🌞

I got the Pfizer shot and only had a sore arm (kind of like a flu shot) but I’m older than you. My son had the Moderna and he got sick after the 2nd shot but only felt crappy for a couple of days. My brother had Covid over a year ago and still has antibodies (he had his blood tested) so his doctor advised against getting the shot. They say if you have antibodies it’s even better than the shot so he’s good. Don’t let people get you down. You do what you have to do. I don’t judge because some people have valid reasons not to get the shot. The newest thing I heard is that 8 months after your shot you might need a booster so it’s sounding like flu shots over here. You don’t have to get a flu shot but every fall/winter they’re available to everyone who wants one to help you avoid the flu. Have a good week.

Had the virus in November 2020, had a cough and fever for 10 days straight. Highest temp reached 104F/40C, used ice packs and regular fever reducers cause all medical places around advised us to only go to the hospital if you have difficulty breathing due to limited bed space. I never did, thankfully. I got the jab about 6 months later. Figured if the virus didn’t finish me off after 10 days then I’d be fine.
