The Mace that Horus has in his left hand is called the world breaker a power mace forged by his father the Emperor.
One his right hand is the clawed gauntlet called the Talons of Horus thoses claws has killed two Primarchs, nearly killed another and greatly wounded the Emperor. The Talons are now used by Horus former first captain and gene son Abbadon the despoiler.

Horus towering and handling that Imperial Fist sergeant like Mike Tyson handling a toddler gives you all the information you need about how fuckin terrifying a primarch is.

The Horus Heresy has a huge ent, which is presented in about 60 books (many of which, by the way, are cool and worth reading), but in the desktop Warhammer this period of time has never been officially presented, only models created by individual casters, not made of plastic, but of resin, and this is the official trailer of the gamesworkshop, which the teaser is that they finally decided to take up this period of time (10,000 years earlier than 40k) and create normal rules and official models for different legions, including their Primarchs

Oh yeah so basically this trailer is just for the Horus Heresy tabletop game. They recently announced updating the game for a new edition and they opened up with this cinematic. But yes it's separate from the main 40k tabletop game as the Horus Heresy is a spinoff that uses rules ported over from main 40k with some changes. You are correct in that the Horus Heresy is pretty much concluded. They introduced the idea of the Horus Heresy in the lore all the way back in the 80s, but never actually told the full story until recently. Before, you only knew how it ends: Horus dies and the Emperor is crippled. But now there are novels covering the start and everything in-between. The appeal of the Heresy's current story isn't just about seeing Space Marines and Primarchs duke it out. It's about seeing how we get to the known end of the story. Writers were only given the ending of the Heresy as a guide and it was up to them to build the lore. Heck, Alpharius Omegon being two dudes wasn't even a thing until the novel Legion by Dan Abnett in 2006.
Hoping to see more warhammer stuff soon! Glad to be a founder!

I don't want to be a fan killer but it's for TABLETOP new miniatures for Horus Heresy series (like a hundred novels/books of awesome lore PRE set the events of Warhammer 40k main story line).
Plastic models for Horus Heresy 18 legions/titans/primarchs (mb solar auxilia) etc.
BUT there is still hope, the CA (Total War: Warhammer) said that they want to make a World War 1 game with new range combat mechanics etc, and AFTER that they are dreaming to make a Total War: Warhammer 40k or 30k (30k is Horus Heresy, it was 10 thousands years before 40k events).
So, MAYBE someday we could play it some AAA game.
    Peace to your home.

Ahhhh, Horus Heresy, the beginning of the corruption of the imperium of mankind and ending with a bang, as Horus killed one of his brothers who is also a primarch, corrupted half of the other primarchs to Chaos side ,and fatally wounded the emperor of mankind's. Before he himself die in the end.
Horus is actually the favorite son of the emperor of mankind, he's the primarch of the Sons of Horus legion. Which in this state he's already corrupted by the whisper of Chaos gods. He's serving the undivided Chaos as later his legion that turn into Black Legion all of them are most Chaos Undivided worshippers.
In this one Horus legion is battling the Imperial fist with his legion, along with titan class knight's.
This is a cinematic trailer is for the new and updated miniature models, as well as expanding the moment/story of the Civil War between primarches.

Think of the Horus Heresy as the story about Yahweh and Lucifer, but in Space.
Simply put, Horus was my favored son. He was the first of the lost Primarchs that was found following the Great Crusade.
But he was tricked by the Chaos Gods and became corrupted, converting half of my Space Marines Legions against me and launching a civil war known as the Horus Heresy.
Horus Heresy takes place in the 31st millennium.
40K takes place in the 41st millennium.

@@lunarwaslost sick is a good word to describe things. You see I am far more powerful than the Christian God. And like the Christian God I the man sacrifice however the sacrifices involve people with psychic abilities to keep me alive each day because without me there is no space travel for the imperium
In addition I ordered the destruction of every single Temple, Church, Mosque, Synagogue and any other house of worship because religion retards human progress.
But because I am immortal and I've been around since the beginning of human history and due to my immense and powerful abilities my people have begun to see me as a living God. The true God of humanity.
And unfortunately in my current state of spend the animation between life and death I can do nothing to tell my people not to worship me.

Ok I'm going to be real for a minute as this is a pet peev of mine as I've done animation pipelines, and I don't want to be misunderstood here. But people who say every time a cool GW trailer or Warhammer trailer has hired fan animators working on them have no idea what they are talking about. Like every cool trailer people love to say Syama Pedersen (the guy that made Astartes) made it and I know for a fact the chances of that being true are redicoulsly small. Not saying the fan stuff isn't good in it's own right or only an official company can make a good animation, it's just a man hour problem. Like if we look at Astartes on a technical level, it's worst than say the Dawn of War 3 trailer or even the 9th edition trailer it's worst for a number of reasons but really Blur Studios did the DoW3 trailer and your talking about a company that pulls in 100 million a year making trailers and 100 people working on a project 9-5 for say, 2 months or so is always going to produce a better 1 minute animation than 1 guy working on it for 2 years.
That said, aesthetics is another matter. If you can bring the pieces together in a cool way, it doesn't matter how much cash you can or can't throw at something. Like DoW3 has a lot of lore related problems with it and for a lot of people it gets to the point where it ruins the trailer for them. So even though something might not have, I don't know, let's say sub surface scattering on all the skin, doesn't mean it's bad.
Final thing is a lot of these things are not even GW doing them. Like Blur is a third-party independent studio you can hire to make animations for you. Games like Chaos Gate buy the license to use the 40K brand for their game. GW might have a hand in the creative direction but it isn't likely Complex Games would get the IP and GW would send over an animation team to help out this small studio make the game so Syama Pedersen probably never worked on that either. Also I think that's a Canadian company and Mr. Pedersen is in New Zealand.
It just sucks because there are all these great animators out there that'll never get shine outside the industry even if everyone sees their works.

It wouldn't surprise me if Henry Cavill provided the voice for Horus Lupercal. I'd like to think so myself at least. *If he did*, then kudos to him (even though I wanted to play as the Emperor of Mankind). But with regards as to who should take on the role of Sanguinius, without a doubt it has to be Tom Holland. And Tom Felton should play as Lion El'Jonson.
