I just picked one up. Dealer maintained, one owner, 78k mikes and $7500. So happy. Nothing is wrong with it except tires, and a small chip in the rear bumper. I am blessed!

If I'm not mistaken, both the M5's should also open the windows and sunroof when you press and hold the open key button. I know the E34 540i from 1995 did do that.
You're correct. Opens them all when you hold down the unlock and closes them when you hold lock button. Though it usually doesn't work too well on the older cars with worn key batteries.
Also, should open and close the windows if you put the key in the door lock, twist & hold. Twist left and hold to roll down windows and twist right and hold to roll up& close sunroof. My volkswagens do it
That's what I was thinking too, my 2001 E39 540i did so I'd be very surprised if the M5 didn't!
On my VW had to get a scan tool that had credit codes to be able to do that for the windows down and up holding lock/unlock - looked up real quick doesn’t work for that model BMW OBDeleven scan tool
It might be disabled in the GM3 module for some reason. It can be enabled with a cheap K+D-CAN cable and NCS Expert/Dummy.

Windows will go back up. Press lock once and release and then on second click hold down
@Speed Academy- In order to put all the windows up, you have to use the key and lock it twice and hold for 2 seconds and all the windows will go up.

i would of used blue loctite on those screws seems to be common for them to come loose in the arm rest.
Judging by the thread i think they go into the plastic on the arm rest. So shouldn't use locktite.

I've owned two LS430s, so I qualify as "in love" with them.
Every time I see this car I’m reminded by the heritage of Toyota in the wheels and I love it.
Using a key to unlock a car is something I quite enjoy, especially when turning the engine over. Nothing like the feel of manual mechanism.😊

You should be able to put the windows up with the key in the keyhole next to the handle. The windows down with the unlock button is a feature that is on a lot of Japanese vehicles. My Mazdaspeed6 and Infiniti G37 did the same thing
Love my Pioneer in my daily driver. Works both with I phone and Android. It works brilliantly with bluetooth and has a direct wire that gives a good piece of mind when traveling. Battery doesn't run out.

There's not an elegant way to roll the windows shut. BUT, putting the key in the driver door and holding it counter clockwise will close everything.
Also, the door unlock system is my favorite from that era (used to valet). It has a strip on the inside of the door handle that unlocks as soon as it feels your skin and the key is close enough.
Many more hidden features like the slide out compartment under the front seats. Just look up "hidden features ls430" on clublexus.

With all the windows down, try locking the drivers door with the key...some cars it closes all the windows and sunroof.

On some JDM cars you can put the windows back up with the key put it in the door and holding a lock turn. Maybe?!?!?
yup came here to write this. on my accord if i turn the key twice to lock the doors and hold it in the lock position it will close the windows. idk if this lexus will do the same but worth a shot
The closing shot, supporting trunk lid whilst replacing gas struts was a good move. I managed to get a slap on the head recently when carrying out the same procedure on my BMW Z4......very painful 😫

You can close them (the windows and sunroof) again! Simply put the key in the door and turn right and hold. All will close. You can also open all by holding key in position after turning left.

FYI:
BMW's do that Key-Remote Windows Up and Down thing since about 1992, the E39 does it as long as all the Window Regulators are programmed and the Key Functions are still working.
The opening of the windows and sunroof thing works on many cars. Many people have no idea this is a thing. Read the Manual! It's pretty nice in the summer on my '09 Mazda 6 to start the cooling process.
That elate supercharger kit cost more than the whole car 😂😂😂
I am sure they just purchased the adapter plate and maybe a couple other essentials only. The supercharger and other parts were likely sourced separately for much cheaper.

Between LKQ and a few others I’m amazed of how many other parts distributors we have in common between the US & Canada. I used to order from World PAC & LKQ on a daily basis at my previous job 👍🏽
Dave pair the Android head unit to the OBD2 port with a bluetooth adaptor and run torque-pro with digital gauges on engine vitals. It is so elegant I ended up removing my physical boost gauge and WB gauge, daily display showing Coolant/AIT/VAC-Boost best of all you should still be able to push audio through the head unit via bluetooth/android auto from your phone at the same time.
I went the hard way and got a non android based Pioneer AVH-2300NEX head unit BUT utilized the backup camera and component input ports along with an HDMI box with a dedicated old android phone stashed in the glove box so the head unit boots up then after 30 seconds of no activity switches the display to what it thinks is the backup camera but is video out from the phone sending the torque-pro display. The 3 cons of this setup are the dedicated phone, Non HD video signal through the component cable and the backup camera warning display that can't be disabled.
I did this around the time you did the Android unit in the Tundra and that scared me away from using one of them instead although my setup would have been much much easier to accomplish... I can't even recommend the Pioneer units as a better option as Android Auto is useless and drops all the time.

The M5 should open and close all windows and sunroof, most german cars do since the early 90’s, it’s called comfort access, hood the remote button and everything opens, hold again and everything closes. Convertibles do this as well and the roof opens and closes as well as the windows. Means you can let the heat out before getting in and close all windows/sunroof etc if you have got out and forgot.

You can buy a dongle to enable Apple Carplay/Android Auto for your Tundra to make up for the lost Bluetooth. Should be less than $30USD.

Older BMWs with actual keys like E46s can open all windows before entering. You just put the key in the door and turn it to either left or right and hold it there for three seconds all windows go down. Same with most VWs too.
The e39 has auto down windows from the key also
and up in Europe or with programming

Yep, my old E46 328Ci also had that feature - both up and down - when you held the unlock/lock key fob button. The nice thing on the E46 Coupe is that, as well as the frameless front windows and sunroof, it also had the opening rear side windows that were electrically operated too (which they didn't do on the later E90s and F80, its one thing I'd like on my current F82) so you could really open the thing up in summer.
Regarding the windows automatically opening with the sunroof when depressing the unlock button, no you cannot make the windows close with the remote key. However if you insert the physical card key into the door and hold it to the left or right for a sustained period of time the windows will go up or down automatically from the exterior driver’s door lock You can replace the shocks for 50 bucks at auto parts place, their standard, crazy at Lexus. 2.5 K to replace two mufflers, at rear. Heat shields contacted the tin composite metal housing of the muffins and that generated an electric current between two different metals causing corrosion. Make sure they don’t touch. $600. Mufflers from shop + custom shaped pipe work. No sound difference. And lifetime warranty on the mufflers LOL. That’s my 2001 LS 430

It will close all the windows back up. You have to either hold the lock button for the same amount of time or try to put the key in the door and turn it to the lock position and hold it until the windows roll up and the sunroof closes.
The window parlor trick is pretty cool. My NC Grand Touring Miata has it as well.

YOU HAVE TO PUT THE KEY IN THE DOOR AND HOLD IT IN THE LOCK POSITION AND THE WINDOWS WILL CLOSE. My 93 Lexus Ls400 and 98 GS400 did the same thing

the 350Z(and most nissans) does the same thing with the windows on the unlock button. You can also insert the key in the door lock and hold it in the lock position and it will close everything.
I love these LS 430. I currently have 2 of them; both in Cypress Green: ‘04 is Sport Suspension & Keyless entry; ‘05 is just basic. I would love to buy 1 in black/black and another in silver/silver.
Still haven’t gotten over those wheels, they are amaze-balls

I have the PX5 unit from the same brand and it is awesome. Get PX5 or PX6 from any brand. PX6 is the most powerful and internals are same in all brands. Buy one which has glass panel because it will be resistant toward scratching. Last thing, buy one with Toyota harness and can bus module, you can get the ac control working from the head unit.

The e39 also opens and closes the window with the key fob. Press the unlock 2 the hold it a 3rd time. All windows and sunroof will open. Then to close hold the key in the door in the lock position to bring them all up.
You can bring all the windows back up and close the sunroof by holding the key in the lock position in the driver's door.

On most Toyota around that time period the luggage compartment strikers are to be adjusted with a brass hammer or pry bar depending on direction. Reason for this is that with slots cut into striker the striker would continue to be pushed back down over time. There is actually a TSB for it I believe. Or just in the standard repair manual. But ya that’s how we do it at Toyota.
Oo and to add to the center console for anyone that has a dealer charging them to replace the center console, then take your car to another. There use to be a problem with this and Toyota released a fix on TIS informing to first adjust before replacing.
Also if you have a older Lexus and you need to go to the dealer always take it to a Toyota instead of Lexus save your self a lot of money

Im not sure it that year LS will do it, but if you put the key in the driver's door and turn it to the lock position and hold it there for a few seconds, it'll bring the windows up and lock the vehicle.
That's amazing you got this for 6k I've had 2 ls430 . 2 of them got amazing deals $4800 for a rust free snowbird 01 lexus ls430 spent winters in Florida summers here in Canada. Me and my wife gave it to her parent for all the free daycare stuff that we didn't pay for lol. The other was a 01 ls430 ultra luxury over 300k km for $2500 sold it a few weeks later for a nice profit. This was in the last 2-3 years or so. Still looking for another one.
I think in order to roll the windows up you have to stick the key in the slot turn it clockwise and hold it for a couple of seconds. The window should roll up I believe.
My 2003 m5 will do the same window trick with the remote. And if you put the key in the cylinder, hold it in the lock position it’ll roll it all back up

8:30 this is a feature on every BMW (with powerwindows and remote). Hold UNLOCK to roll down, LOCK to roll up. I think you can do the same by putting the key in the door.

I believe it is a safety feature that it won't close the windows and sunroof with the key fob. If you could do it with the key fob, you could actually hurt someone if they were in the way and you did it remotely from, say inside your house. You know, kids playing in the car and all. However, lock it with the key in the driver's door and hold it in the locking position. It should then close the windows and the sunroof that way. Anyway, that is the way my '07 GX470 works.
The door lock actuators are really easy to replace on this compared to the GS400. The cables always break, they don't sell just the cables you have to buy the whole assembly, the aftermarket motors WILL need to be modified if you decide to use them, sanding the arms to make them fit, and the rear door handle needs baby hands to get them out and a lot of guesswork as its tucked into the door handle and needs to be manually depressed aswell as wiggled out from again a tiny space created by the wheel arch. Outside of the steering wheel tilt, one of the least reliable things in these cars.
I love the video. You have the same amount of OCD as I have. I just got a 2007 ls460 with blown air suspension for 3500. Suspension is already fixed and I LOVE the car.
@Organic Iverson Yes! I’ve been in love with the LS460 for years but couldn’t justify paying so much money for it. I got a high mileage with bad air suspension and check engine light on. I replaced the air suspension with traditional shocks and springs ($350 used OEM, I instala them) and working on getting the check engine light fixed I’m hoping ($50) in parts plus my labor. So far the car drives super smooth and still in love with it!
