I don't know, I haven't tried them, they look unbalanced tbh. I tried Trigon, as it's sort of like FTL with really good graphics, this has massive balance as well as gameplay issues.

Whilst I can gladly commend the return to FTL content, even if temporarily, I heavily recommend against using Captain's Edition as a starting point. Instead, I recommend looking for Multiverse, a much larger and higher quality overhaul of FTL, using Hyperspace to achieve things never even thought possible with the base game. Just as a point of reference, there are 180+ new and unlockable ships in Multiverse. By the way, Multiverse uses its own, separate save file, so all vanilla data is safely stored while you go about unlocking everything to unlock in Multiverse.
i like that there is crew-interactions in this mod. i always found the story aspect of the game lackluster, even thought the gameplay has been fully entertaining. Also hope you continue with this as a whole series

You need to be more patient. Unless you're in a system with enviromental hazards, there's no reason to jump without first making sure you have all systems repaired, all crew healed, and 100% O2.
I think the point of the auto beam is to use it with the auto fire button on so that it keeps the enemy under fire. like a maxed out vulcan cannon its a pain in the ass to keep manually firing and way less effective.
You have slugs you don't need sensors for a nebula You can damage the top layer shields with your laser then use the bio weapons to pierce the bottom layers.
Honestly whilst getting more scrap, you don't seem to get any fuel from capturing ships, which is questionable. Also, the dual laser makes light lasers viable forever, but of course there's better weapons for killing crew.
CE Infinite is really cool so far, unfortunately I'm having trouble dealing with even the first combat with the Federation Cruiser (my favorite ship bc flak spam), as they all came with very bad weapons. Definitely downloaded the Ship Customizer Mod to make it a bit easier to, ya know, start playing the actual game instead of dealing with the Vintage Burst Laser that does literally nothing to enemy hulls.
Trigon is a ripoff of FTL, not a single unique idea, only the graphics are 3D, but it's way too busy, no wonder FTL has simple yet easily distinguishable graphics. FTL is the better game.
Why are you not using the jammer every fight? It doesn't always work, but when it does, 2 power to knock out 1 or 2 weapons permanently is an excellent deal.
Is there anything faster than the speed of light? Because the concept of "speed" requires measuring a certain amount of distance traveled in space during a certain period of time, the concept of speed does not even physically exist beyond the speed of light. *In fact, the phrase "faster than light" is physically meaningless.* Me: :(

Its actually 5 endings if you cound the ending that splits into 2 decisions, and 20’ish if you consider the special crew endings

Pravus playes the slugs, a race that lives in nebulas with a ship without sensors, that could be disabled by the nebula, but avoid all nebulas at all
