gibs is planned for a while down the line, with so many ships in the mod we're making ships faster than we can give them gibs. We don't plan on adding gibs until we have gibs for every ships, so as not to be inconsistent.
This mod has so much content in it, ALOT more than you’d realise. Stick to it and it will reward both you and us with a good video Ps. At an empty beacon, you can ‘perform a task’ then salvage a sector once per sector for a few supplies :)
btw it's good that you avoided reading the atlas, because there's currently a bug where if you read the atlas a bunch, the sector count increases internally or something (i have no idea how it works actually), which will make it so that late game enemies and bosses will spawn in early sectors
I think this mod is content overload. What I enjoy about Vanilla FTL ( referring to Advanced Edition ) is it's simicity combined with it complexity. There's enough content to not get stale quickly but it's not too much where it becomes overwhelming. The thing I wholeheartedly enjoy more though, and is the only thing I am bummed out about Vanilla, is the Vanilla weapon balance. Burst Laser MK3 no longer such a heavy commitment at 3 power, Flak 2 is now Flak 1 to actually make it an upgrade. Chain Vulcan also down to 3 power makes it super fun and powerful, etc, etc. If only the devs of FTL had followup patches for their game to target balance.
Just won my first run on the base game of ftl thanks to your guides. I got such good rng too, was able to swap out my scrap recovery arm for pre-igniter the jump before entering the last stand.
Gotta say, I know I just commented on your captains edition run but I think this intrigues me more. So much to do. And looks to be less harsh/better balanced in the opening stages. That pre-flak tho.
I think the biggest thing about the Pre-Flak is how *accurate* it is. Usually Flak, Flak I at least, will crush shields but it won't reliably hit the hull for damage...maybe 50% on average? This one feels like most, if not all the pieces, hit.
I agree that this game is much more balanced than vanilla FTL. No diss, but it's just very RNG based. In multiverse, though, I always feel like I have a chance to win, and I never really feel like I got screwed by scrap rewards or anything.

Mod seems very cool, I'll definitely look into it myself eventually. Pre-flak seems really strong, but I bet its balanced out by being hard to find in the massive additional weapon pool it seems to add. I also imagine NPCs can have it too, which is terrifying.
The weakness of the pierce laser is that it only goes trough 1 bubble but it doesn't take it down So it doesn't synergize with the more OP laser/flak spam combos Later on you won't have as many situations where piercing just 1 bubble will make a big difference either
23:30 If you buy the fuel conserver early on and don’t need that augmentation slot, then it’s actually ok. You net up to 14 fuel for 20 scrap, while the fuel crate is 5-10 fuel for 22 scrap. Taking up an augmentation slot is usually quite a disadvantage though, so maybe it isn’t worth it.
What mod are you using to get the extra jump lines on the map? It is really annoying to try to guess how many jumps I have without them so It’d be really good to know.

When you get a drone schematic why does selling it remove your ability to produce a drone from that schematic? It's just blueprints for a drone, why doesn't the ship just make a copy of the scheme?
I agree it's a bit odd. My theory is that in the FTL universe, a "schematic" includes not just the blueprint for a drone, but also a specialized assembly module that must be installed in one of your ship's drone slots to manufacture that specific drone. You sell the schematic, you sell the assembler with it.

Not getting the schematic, but creating a schematic by analysing a drone. So that don't explain why you can't just create a copy of a schematic since you able to reverse engineer drones to create one. I know the reason is probably just for balance reasons. But would be nice if there's some actual in game logic to it. Not just because it'd be too OP.

I’m not sure if enemies can actually get any pre-weapons, but do be aware of some POWERFUL missiles and crew types..

Licensing. If you produce a drone without the schematic, space FBI will arrest you for intellectual property theft.
Maybe the information contained therein can't be digitised due to file sizes or somethin.
