Wew lad. So this was a pretty hard file to make, mostly because it was the first time I've ever dinked around with proper math or sprites in files.

To install the song, find the folder in the download labelled "The Last Stand", and drop it into a folder in your step game of choice's Songs folder.
Also, follow Taronuke's steps on how to set your render mode to OpenGL, otherwise the screen will whiteout.
": follow these steps:
- Open %AppData%\Roaming\StepMania 5\Save\Preferences.ini
- find "VideoRenderers=d3d, opengl"
- remove d3d from list"

@@bluepikachu512 Nah the phase two surge is the much much worse one as those drones will eat your shield and than the beams will tear apart your shield.
@@rtasdsasfrt7671 I've had so many issues with phase 2, but I'd say that phase 3 is a little harder. Phase 2's drones can be easily cloaked through if you time it right even with level 1 cloaking (iirc), and if you upgraded your engine enough/had your crew skilled enough you can easily get past 100% evasion. Phase 3 is a little more difficult, because you can't immediately try to take out the flagships missiles, meaning that you _have_ to tank a few missile hits at some point (maybe even 2 if you really want to avoid getting hit by the first power surge), which with some bad luck could easily kill a run. Either way they're both very difficult, but I've struggled a lot more on phase 3 just from the Zoltan shield alone (though if you get weapon pre-ignitor it would probably be a lot easier to get through if you have powerful enough weapons)

Before watching this, I downloaded the map and went into it blind. The disorientations were interesting with great presentation, but fortunately I know this game's music well enough that I was able to keep pace with most of it. I earned just over 80 scrap and got a B for Burst II!
The most difficult attack by far was the superweapon, followed closely by the missles. And, like in FTL itself, multiple attacks at once are devastating. Mind control + superweapon + missles overlapping each other was killing me. The drone surge was surprisingly easy to deal with since I could reassess the board after each shot.
But wow, that was the most fun and exciting stepmania map I've ever played. It kept things interesting without being annoyingly difficult. Great work on this.
Although I do not play Stepmania, I do play other rhythm games and a lot of FTL. I bet I'm not skilled enough to complete this song since I'm horrible with distractions, but regardless of that fact I must still applaud you for the dope creative design choices you made when you created this chart years ago.
Even if you might not be the most proud of it, it still shows off your knowledge and love for both games, and that is something that everyone can respect. I'd be surprised if this video doesn't get recommended to more people, because it is damn well made chart that anyone (in the FTL community at least) would enjoy watching.
People that enjoyed the game enjoyed appreciating this at least, and what this lacks in gameplay design on the mod side, I think I made up in clever visual use of just, stuff. I'm happy with how the graphics came together.

Well, this is exactly how the fight goes. At first I thought "wait a minute, I'm suppose to be watching Step vid, why am I seeing someone's FTL run here lol. Great job, this is sick. Only thing this is missing is a horde of boarder teleported from the flagship in phase 3 (and the freaking boarding drone in phase 2). Oh and the green Zoltan super shield in phase 3. Oh and I think maybe the sound effect is a bit too loud...? Well, nvm I'm 6 years late.
I would love to see this as an FNF mod and have Rhythm Game Veteran play it.
Man, I'd love to see someone remake this in FNF. It'd be absolutely amazing.

i count this win as the win on a hard in the original game
this is amazing, but what if the ship you were using was a dance pad with a little arrow icon, and every time it got damaged/ioned/hacked it would show
also idk if this is too hard to make but what if the human crew also stepped to the d-pad by the buttons you were pressing and (MAYBE) there would be a new shield mechanic

i cant play it, when i was putting the The Last Stand folder to song and play it, and it pops out "The folder "Songs/The Last Stand" appears to be a song folder. All song folders must reside in a group folder. For example, "Songs/Originals/My Song" will contain the music file (MP3, OGG...), the steps file (.sm, .dwi, .ksf...) and other related files." halp

See I store a portable version of the program in a synced folder, so... uh.

While your waiting, uh, just, do a hard drive search for Preferences.ini.
Didn't find it. Damn.
If I'm correct, the default SM5 installation is somewhere in the a folder called "Games" in the root directory of your hard drive that you installed it on. Then it should be in Save from there... but uh... not sure.
If you can, ask the chaps over on the UKSRT Discord, they, basically helped me make half of this file.
