TLDR: If you have the ability, get a 2nd, 3rd...10th opinion if you have scary or obtrusive symptoms, and your doctor can't or won't help you. Please don't let the gaslighting and your suffering grind your life away 💞 . About two months ago I had a hysterectomy, and via pathology found out my uterus was full of fibroids of all types. I had been dealing with menstruation problems for 30+ years, since before my period started, and they got much worse in the last 10 years or so. My biggest obstacle was getting a diagnosis and the right treatment, and my biggest concern was (and is) the symptoms. It felt like there was a stone in my abdomen, and I had and still have a lot of other scary, obnoxious symptoms. OTC pain killers and birth controls didn't touch the problems. I had 2 vaginal and 2 or 3 external ultrasounds, an MRI, an abdominal CT, a hysteroscopy and a D & C, and they all weren't helpful. The gynaecologist who did the hysteroscopy and D & C said he suspected endometriosis?? and suggested the hysterectomy. I'm confused how he wouldn't have seen fibroids during the hysteroscopy, but I guess I don't have a surgeon's eyeballs.
Hi, what about women of my age group. I’m 68 so way way passed the menopause, yet II have gone from 1 fibroid to multiple in the last few years. Why at my age? Bleeding stopped completely 15 years ago.
I have a fybroid and never had pain .butttt recently a dr made an transvaginal ultrasound and after that my leg is hurting and my lower back.what the heck happened during the ultrasound I don t know.
Hi, sorry to hear of this . It's not usual to have these symptoms following an ultrasound. To clarify your symptoms further, you can reach me here - askawayhealth.org/symptom-checker-stage-one/
Similar thing happened to me. I was told I have about 10 fibroids. They’ve been bothering me for a few years now. I’ve done CT scans MRI’s still can’t seem to figure out the root cause of all the pain in my stomach and pelvis. Also my back. Went for a ultrasound in my pelvis right where there’s a lump protruding in my inguinal after that I’ve been having a lot of pain in my stomach pelvis and legs. Just don’t feel good after that ultrasound

One of the things we are not sure of is why fibroids grow after menopause - we used to think they shrink, but that's simply not the case!
