      Hysterectomy is the advice of the physician to me so the 3 huge fibroids in my uterus are eradicated. Sticking to this fibroids t.co/49mDk0XaSq has enabled me to minimize 80% of my own fibroid tumors. My periods are consistent at this point, and I hardly encounter any discomfort.

    Great video. I've found it hard to find fibroid information for older ladies. I'm 51 and scheduled for hysterectomy next month. My fibroid doubled in the last 18 months and I may have endometriosis too (another topic hard to find involving older women). After 4 iron infusions and tons of pain I'm tapping out and having surgery. Knowing that I may still have pressure even after menopause has helped me feel more confident in my decision. Being this close to menopause I wondered if I should just wait it out.

    I have a question, what are your thoughts about the Biote craze that’s going on ? Seems like every other doctor office sells it !, and what I see is that everyone women gets, thyroid medication, progesterone and lots of testosterone ! My best friend in particular, her levels of testosterone are in the 400’s... is that good ? She says she feels great ! She is able to lift a lot of weight in the gym 💪! But every 4 months when the pellets are wearing out she is dragging and rushes to get more. I just really wonder and would love to hear your opinion :)

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  5 лет назад +2

      BioTE is bioidentical testosterone and estrogen. It is being pushed in the alternative and complementary world for hormone replacement.
      It is made by compounding pharmacies, which means that there is no oversight or regulation of the industry. There is no FDA approval.
      As with any implanted product, it lasts for 4 months. So, that's an advantage if you love it. And it's a disadvantage if you hate it.
      The side effects of testosterone are the biggest problem for women. They include weight gain, acne. whiskers, and aggression.

    • @MenopauseTaylor

      Progesterone will not prevent growth of fibroids. Remember, peri-menopause is a time when your estrogen is still high, and estrogen stimulates fibroids.

    Buenas noches Barbie, cómo está? Quiero felicitarla y agradecer la gran labor que hace al darnos el conocimiento que toda mujer debería saber. Tristemente no es así. Le escribo en español porque se que lo habla. Tengo 59 años, me quitaron la matriz hace 15 años y nunca me recomendaron tomar hormonas. He sentido el peor desgaste, me duele todo, no tengo energía, etc. Primero me diagnosticaron con fibromialgia, después miopatia metabólica y de repente la encuentro a usted y obviamente mi problema no sé si todavía menopausia o que, yo sé que ya pasó mucho tiempo para comenzar a tomar estrógeno, hace 1 mes comencé mi estilo de vida vegana pero no puedo hacer ejercicio, lo deseo pues se que mejoraré. Que puedo tomar para sentirme bien, he tomado de todo y tristemente ningún doctor llego a la conclusión que es la falta de hormonas. Gracias por leer, de verdad necesito su ayuda!

    I'm almost 54...and have been banking on menopause being the end of fibroid hell. The bleeding will end...but I have heard they shrink too, but you said they don't, which is depressing because I have a retroflexed uterus that has all kinds of discomfort. But, I don't really want to get a hysterectomy (and mine are in the uterus). Any thoughts? Thanks

      Britt,
      Your fibroids may shrink some. But not enough for you to feel like you are free of the matter.
      You should consider scheduling a one-on-one consultation with me. I can help you a lot by tailoring all the information to your personal situation, helping you understand the implications of a retroverted, retroflexed uterus, and weigh all your options. I can't do that here in this comment box.
      There are so many factors to take into consideration. And you'll benefit greatly from understanding all the benefits, risks, & alternatives as they apply to YOU.
      If you want a consultation, go to MenopauseTaylor.ME to schedule one. I do them on Skype, FaceTime, and Facebook Messenger.
      You can include all the things you want to cover when you fill out the form, and then send me any labs or tests you've had. That way, I can incorporate everything into the session. I'll create a personalized document addressing all your concerns, and send it to you at least one day before our session. That way, you'll have time to read it in advance. It's usually over 12 pages long. You'll understand everything and have all the options tailored specifically to YOU.

      It sounds to me like you need a one-on-one consultation with me to understand everything about polyps. They are a completely different entity than fibroids. And I don't have a video scheduled for it any time soon. (I'm such a nerd that I shoot my videos about 8 months in advance!)
      Your suggestion isa good one, and I will eventually create a video on polyps. But, I try not to veer far from the subject of menopause, and polyps are not a common part of menopause.
      I can spend time with you making sure you rally understand all the ramifications as they apply to you and that's better then a video for everybody.

      Well, think about it: They are stimulated by estrogen. When you are breastfeeding, your estrogen is somewhat suppressed. So, the may stop growing. Shrinkage is possible, but that's mostly from the huge decline in the levels of estrogen that you had when you were pregnant compared to the level you have while breastfeeding.

      How’s your diet? At 32 I was diagnosed with 4 clustered fibroids the size of apples on the outer of my uterus. I was afraid to have them removed because research showed they grow back. I went RAW vegan for 2yrs. It was hard but I did what I had to do. I’m certain one fell out during a cycle because it didn’t look like a clot but a huge piece of pinkish flesh. The Dr said quite possible but usually when that happens you need a blood transfusion. For my annual when I turned 33 yrs old the Dr told me it was only 3 and they were the size of plums. I continued my journey and by the time my 34th bday annual it was 2 and they were the size of peas. I knew they had shrunk cause not only did my period pains and heavy bleeding go away my period was only lasting 2 days I know from the raw vegan. I went back to eating meat, dairy, chips etc and noticed about 9 months after I started cramping again and heavier flows. Went back to my GYN and they had increased to the size of prunes. I then knew that meat, dairy, sugar, junk helps increase their growth. I went back to raw vegan and by the time I was 38 I had no more fibroids. I’m 49 now, still a vegan but not raw. I don’t eat processed foods or refined sugar and snacks.I’m going through perimenopause but it’s not too bad because of my diet. My periods are like 4/5 days and always very very light. No cramps or clots. I hope this helps. Our diet plays a huge part in the growth of the fibroids and a lot of other illnesses we have.

      This is precisely the kind of thing for which I do one-on-one consultations. Your mother definitely needs one. No two women are alike, and addressing her situation requires tailoring all the facts specifically to HER.
      I'm in the business of educating you about everything you need to know and do in order to get exactly what you want for managing whatever you need to manage. So, here's how a consultation works:
      1) Your mother would schedule a one-on-one consultation at my website, MenopauseTaylor.ME, choosing a time that is convenient for her. I do consultations on Skype, FaceTime. Facebook Messenger, What’s App, and the phone. (But very shortly, I’ll have my own video platform embedded in my website.)

      2) I would send her an email to confirm that she is scheduled for the stated time, and invite her to send me as much information about herself as she pleases. She can make it brimming with details and tell me about her reproductive life, any gynecologic problems she's had, and her symptoms. She can include all her fears, concerns, and goals. She may also send me any labs, mammogram results, bone density results, etc. that she would like me to address. I will give her a 5-day deadline for sending all materials, and will not accept anything after that date.
      3) I'll get busy creating a document that gives her all the education she needs to understand absolutely everything, points out the pros and cons of each option, and tailors it all to HER, using the information she has provided. The document will be loooooong. Most are over 30 pages.
      4) I will send her the document by email 72 hours before her consultation. She will benefit greatly by reading it in advance. Light bulbs will go off like crazy, and if she's like most women, she'll feel that she's already gotten her money's worth.
      5) During her consultation, we will review the document and address any issues she want in order to fine tune everything and determine her best options. I'll tell her exactly how to find the right kind of professional, how to have the conversation in order to get what she wants, and the nuances of things like guidelines and insurance. I leave nothing unaddressed.
      6) She will go to a professional of her choosing in order to get the actual hormones or whatever she chooses to use.
      7) After the first consultation, I'll hold her hand (forever if she wants me to). In other words, she'll be able to schedule mini-consultations (30-minute, in addition to full consultations) whenever she needs to. I'll keep records of her situation. Most women schedule mini-consultation whenever they go to the doctor and don't understand what he or she said, or why. I translate. I make sense of everything. Most schedule mini-consultation whenever they have a new test and they want me to explain the results. And all schedule mini-consultation whenever their situation changes and they need to re-weigh and re-balance their options.
      The time she spends with me will make everything about working with any other professional so easy. And they will love the fact that your mother has an actual education rather than a bunch of misconceptions that she got from the Internet.
      So, that's my role. And nobody else on earth does this kind of thing but me. So, I hope she schedules a consultation and lets me hold her hand (figuratively).
      I hope to meet her soon!

    This confused me because one of the big medical treatments for shrinking fibroids are drugs like lupron and elagolix which shrink fibroids by blocking estrogen. That is the method that causes the shrinking. But you're saying that lowered estrogen levels will NOT shrink fibroids. Why do doctors use these medications successfully to shrink fibroids (for surgery/etc) if blocking/lowering estrogen doesn't work? One idea regarding menopause is a new study that shows that fibroids produce their OWN estrogen via aromatase. RUclips won't let me link the study but you can find it by typing "fibroids aromatase study". Anyway... would love to hear why these drugs work but menopause doesn't to shrink fibroids....

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  11 месяцев назад +1

      Nothing can treat fibroids completely except removal of the organ that creates fibroids.
      Remember, the medical system is not a "health care" system. It's a "disease care" system. We medical doctors are repairmen. We learn how to fix you once you're broken. So the system is designed to let you break.
      All the new-fangled technological devices, less-invasive procedures, and non-surgical options are ways of leaving you with your pathology so that you will just have to come back again later & put more money into the system.
      Just like any insurance industry, the guidelines and medical insurance companies are looking for ways to avoid spending their money on you.
      If you have any problem, schedule a consultation with em at MenopauseTaylor.ME BEFORE seeing any doctor. I will tell you the whole story and the whole truth. Then you can go do whatever you prefer. I do not gain a thing by what you choose to do. That's how you know I'm telling you the whole story and the whole truth.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  5 лет назад +2

      That is not uncommon advice. The logic is as follows: If you no longer need your uterus to reproduce, and the fibroids are causing awful symptoms. it makes more sense to remove the source of the fibroids (your uterus) thats it does to just remove the fibroids themselves. And that's because they can come back.
      But, if you do want to get pregnant, then the more reasonable thing to do would be to remove just the fibroids and leave your uterus intact (if that's possible).
