This was such a great recipe! I wanted mine a little sweeter so I added 1/2 cup of brown sugar instead of 1/4, a tablespoon of allspice and 2 full cups of sweet potato (didn't want to waste what I had) and 1/2 tablespoon of vanilla, 1/4 cup of butter. I also used a potato ricer to funnel out that string sweet potatoes annoyingly have. I needed to bake for 1hr and 10 minutes and I covered the top with aluminum so it wouldn't burn. It came out moist and perfect. I had pecans and wish I also had raisins. Like you said, this IS a very versatile recipe. I can make it decadent for coffee or more plain for tea. This is the best sweet potato recipe and I've seen many! Thank you!
I add finely chopped pecans to the batter and extra brown sugar and real melted butter as well so half oil 1/2 butter. When it still slightly warm I wrap in saran wrap then in foil . It stays moist for a long time like that if it last very long at all around here 😉😂.
I made this the other day for my family using fresh sweet potatoes from our garden and it was moist and delicious! I used one cup of all-purpose flour and 3/4 cup of whole wheat flour. I wanted the extra fiber. When I tasted the raw batter, all I could taste was the wheat flour and I got a little worried. I was also worried about the wheat flour making it dry, but once it baked, the bread came out wonderful! Just put this recipe in my cookbook! Love it! P.S. I also added raisins and pecans to the mix!
This is the exact recipe I used years ago but lost it. When I saw the sifter I knew I found the right one. I like to add chopped walnuts to mine. Will be making this soon. 😋
Amazing recipe! Super easy and moist! I added drizzles of toffee sea salt caramel sauce and mixed nuts? It is very customizable. It does need more than an hour to cook
I'm so glad this bread recipe has no yeast because I'm allergic to yeast. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful recipe! Also, can we scoop this batter to turn into a dinner rolls?
I’ve never tried but I don’t see why not. You might need to add a little more water or/and oil since whole wheat flour absorb more liquid and we don’t want the bread too dense. Another option is to try half all purpose and half whole wheat. Let me know how it turned out!
I tried with whole wheat flour and minimal sugar. Just added one more egg and 1/4 cup of yoghurt to the recipe. Turned out be super moist and fluffy and everybody loved it. Thank you for this awesome content 😁
Delightful cake for fall.
I added dried cranberries to mine.
Ohh! Good idea. I’ll try it this fall. Did you use fresh orange dry cranberries?
Love this recipe! 😊 so did my family. I baked mine in Bundt pan. I have better luck with the bake that way Thanks!
I’m so glad you liked it!!

Is it good for diabetics..is there replacement for sugar and white flour
You can replace sugar with honey or maple syrup. And you can replace some of the flour for whole wheat but I wouldn’t replace all of it.
How long does it take to expire
It should be good for 7-10 days in the fridge. You can heat individual slices in the microwave for 10-15 seconds before serving.
You should try this with minced apples
That’s a good idea!!

Mines came out more lile a cake texture not bread what wrongs ??
That’s the texture. It’s called a bread because it’s made in a bread pan. But really, it’s kinda like coffee cake.
