Please show us the Jamaican version. Love the channel. I am blind & I love the way you describe everything in detail. It helps when I try to make the recipe.
😮Yeppp this right here is goin on the Holiday Menu Express from now on!😂 and we addin some finely chopped pecans to tha mix😋🍽️🧡Thank you for another additional Family tradition on our table😇Hallelu!✨
🥰 Oh wow!! 😁 I would tear this up when I was younger when my grandmother would make this. She has passed since. Haven't had this since I was a teenager. I will most definitely save this for future dishes! 😊
Baby I gets into a tussle with the folks in instagram every year about roasting them potatoes vs boiling them…they be mad when I say ROAST EM for that pie! And my gramma used to add that rum to her pies and my uncles used to fight over them 😂 I do a lil butterscotch schnapps here and there if I ain’t got no rum.
I've seen tons of sweet potato pones & puddings. But that is THE creamiest, most scrumptious-looking one I've ever seen. So creamy and smooth and rich. And the ingredients list is "a la perfección". Nothing unnecessary yet not missing a thing. I just want to bury my face in that pudding. Thank you for showing us this. It was a pleasure. p.s. I'm still staring at that vid shot at from 10:44-10:46...
My mother's oldest brother used to make this. We called it sweet potato pone/palm. He learned it from my grandmother. Both were awesome cooks. We ALWAYS requested for him to make this. It was my absolute favorite dessert from him. This is truly southern in my opinion as we ate this in southern Mississippi. You have just reminded me how much I miss him. Your dish looks delicious and reminds me of home.❤
I've never tasted this before but it looks like a crustless sweet potato pie. I would definitely try this recipe, although I like a good flaky pie crust. I love your videos!
Wow-the timing of this video! My husband baked three massive sweet potatoes last night (like 1 was too much for the fam to get through) and I’m searching for recipes to convert them into a treat. This looks like comfort on a plate!! If I don’t make it tonight, then definitely next week. Thanks for posting 🫶
My mother in law used to make this and I’ve been trying to remake it for years! Thank you for making this video! I’m looking forward to seeing your Jamaican sweet potato pudding video as well.
Thank you for giving us tips about the strings in the sweet potatoes. Unfortunately back in my Granny's Day she didnt have all the luxury appliances and to tell you the truth I dont either but my sweet potato pies and pudding has no strings!!!! Its labor but "good labor". My hand mixer went caput on me but thank God my son got me a new stand up mixer so now its easier to get the strings out!! I will be trying your recipe soon. God bless you as well.
Girl this is what I have been waiting for. back in the day we called it tater bread and it was our favorite snack X the rum I am thinking about making some this weekend my children have not had this in a long time thanks again. be careful out there.
Happy Sunday Camirra 🤗 Sweet Potatoes have always been a dessert for me. My Grandmother 🙏🏾 was the only one who understood why I would eat mine with Vanilla Bean ice cream after the holiday dinner. I will eat them with a good piece of fried chicken now. I would be dipping the chicken in that.
❤My stepmother introduced me to this and this is so delicious but she also add marshmallows & pecans to hers. Unfortunately I haven’t had in 2 1/2 years she passed away and know one makes it like she did. Seeing you make this I might try to create it this year, thanks 🙏🏾 for this 🙏🏾🥰🙏🏾🥰🙏🏾
Hi Camirra, ❤s this recipe. Yes, please show the Jamaican pudding with the coconut flakes. I was hoping if you can show how to make the old fashioned coconut pie. Thanks! Keep up the great work.
My granny on my momma's side used to call this _Sweet potato pone_ ... but instead of baking the sweet potato, she would clean and then grate the raw potato, add the other ingredients and then bake. Her dish had more texture... but quite delicious. I've never seen't anyone else in my family make it. This was 50+ years ago.
So love all your dishes and I can see from everything you cook it is a NC thing. My mom was from North Carolina and yes it is a side dish. She made this for us all the time. She did not make sweet potato pie. Yes please share the carribbean recipe

Midwest rural raised boyhood here. Never heard of this dish. Interesting cultural question. Since, food variations differ greatly could this dish evolve from Black culture? I am now in southern Arizona and the one of the local Tohono O'odham (formerly Papago) areas has a chunked sweet potato recipe using spices for a taste which is a wonderfully unique flavor. The wives simply smile about the recipe.
tbh i dont know. this isnt one of those where the exact measurement in the sweet potatoes matters. if you use 6 medium large size (about the same size as mine) it will work out.
I hope you see my comment.can I PLEASE have the recipe I haven't had this since I was about 16 I'm now 74 my mom made it for us let a Old lady remember that taste please

This is one that says on my Holiday Menu. We do pies for Thanksgiving and pone for Kwanzaa. We call it pone instead of pudding.

Yes We Eat It All The Time In South Carolina

Yes I’m going to try your version of this, but still would like your Jamaican or Caribbean versions as well. Thank you!
Quail eggs. And yes duck eggs have a much creamier texture than chicken eggs. And yes please share your Jamaican version as well

This is a very famous Jamaican dish.
this is not jamacian. though there is a jamacian version of sweet potato pie. this is differnt from that in many ways.
We call this a sweet potato souffle here in the southern US
yes i grew up with that name for it too!
This is also delicious if you substitute your sugars for 1 to 1-1/2 cups thick date paste.
i can't lose weight at all around here 🤪😘😘😘 whipped cream now and i set 😋😋
My mother used to make this. All the things you said. She called it sweet potato pone?. And yes it was a side dish. Also she would put Bisquick in it or flour.

We eat it as a side dish. My family calls it sweet potato fluff and add large marshmallows to the top
To me this is just sweet potato pie filling and is the way I prefer to eat mine, crustless and cold!
Can you make this with the white sweet potato? Do you have a recipe ?
yes this can be made with white sweet potatoes
I need a food processor to make this sweet potato pie😊😊❤
I have all the ingredients except the nutmeg making this Sunday
Need the fiber. Keeps the strings. I use immersion blender works as well
blending it keeps the fiber in the dish. I think using am immersion blendier could work

Yep, I’ve used the food processor for the stringy solution.
I’m wondering if condense sweet milk can be used?
yes but reduce the sugar
That food processor made the sweet tater silkie ! Thanks ! ❤
The big sweet potatos have strings ... Use the smaller ones😊
May I have the recipe please
I use ginger and whole grain mustard . No cinnamon . Brown sugar only. Butter , heavy cream , sea salt & dash of mace
Good afternoon
You know Grandma use a fork.
My mom always made this for thanksgiving and Christmas I only like my sweet bread, don't care for pie. Miss her she is Rip now
Oh yeah I remember you said 3:50 degrees to preheat in 50 minutes to bake
can you tell me how many cups of mashed sweet potato this calls for?
tbh i dont know. this isnt one of those where the exact measurement in the sweet potatoes matters. if you use 6 medium large size (about the same size as mine) it will work out.
