I’ve made this bread five times and each time it has come out perfectly. Just like in the video. It tastes amazing, and it’s so soft and fluffy. Thank you for this great recipe! (I have found I get a better result in my kitchen when I activate my yeast in the warm milk with sugar first, and then add it to the dry ingredients).

Every Country has different type of yeast; my yeast doesn't need to be activated, but many types yes, so you made correctly to activate it wih warm sugared milk if your yeast required it! I tried this recipe, freaking amazing. I forgot the butter and used all purpose flour instead of bread flour, but it turned out very soft and delicious. will not be buying bread from groceries store anymore. I cut into 8 pieces, perfect size for french toasts

I made this bread today and it comes out exactly as shown. Absolutely delicious!!! I made it from the video, not realizing there was a link to the printed recipe. My dough did not rise 3X the size, even after 4 hours. My home is warm so I figured it was the yeast. I made a second batch using different yeast and that one did not rise as the video shows, but both came out perfectly anyway. Definitely a keeper!!! Thanks very much!!

Hello and welcome here! You can use all purpose flour but consider that you have to reduce milk amount since all purpose flour absorbs less liquid than bread flour. I've never tried to knead a bread with coconut oil, try to reduce the amount of coconut oil to 30 grams and let me know how it turns out! Much love
@@HowTasty thank you for replying! i made it with butter since i saw it was only 2 tbsp anyways (i tend to use coconut oil more as my grandma is a heart patient and too much butter doesn’t sit well with her) it’s still baking in the oven right now (taking longer than 25 mins to brown though 😭) will let you know how it turns out once we try it!!

Firstly, great video :) I am curious Howe, you said to purée 140g of sweet potato but to only use 85g of that purée into the dough mix. Was that an error or are we meant to be using the remaining purée for something else?
Hello and welcome to my channel! It's correct: in the bread dough recipe I've used 85g of puree, but to get 85 g of puree, I've used about 140 g of fresh sweet potato. If you steam only 85g of sweet potato, you'll get less amount of puree ;)

I want to try it out but without the yeast. Maybe using egg whites or vinegar with baking soda could be healthier. Either way after forming the ball I have to let it seat for an hour but if it’s with egg whites? Thanks

Ciao Elisa e benvenuta nel mio canale! Per questa ricetta ho usato le patate dolci americane, quelle con la polpa arancione; io le trovo all' Esselunga, ma non tutti le hanno. Ho usato 85 g della polpa di patate dolci bollite (o cotte al vapore come ho fatto io nel video) e schiacciate in purè. Quindi non i fiocchi già pronti per purè. Se non le trovi, puoi usare le patate normali (sempre bollite e schiacciate), ma tieni presente che hanno una polpa più bagnata rispetto alle patate americane, quindi magari dovrai ridurre la dose di latte nell'impasto. Fammi sapere se lo provi e mandami una foto su Instagram! Un abbraccio

Yes, but the amount you need of whole wheat flour is different than bread flour. Add it little bu little and stop until you get the soft dough consistency you can see in the video. If you add too much whole wheat flour, the bread will turn out hard and not fluffy.
I probably would have just called it good when I got to a ball of dough and tossed it into my pullman pan haha But this isn't my recipe either. Fantastic looking bread. Should be a fine way to use up my sweet potatoes I have no use for.

Hi Mariam! I think it could be about 1/3 cup, but I honesly didnt' press it in a cup to misure it...I used a kitchen scale. If you use 1/3 cup of sweet potato puree, add milk in few times to get the perfect dough consistency: you have to get very soft and slighlty sticky dough. Let me know! Hugs

Was that an error or are we meant to be using the remaining purée for something else?
Hello and welcome to my channel! It's correct: in the bread dough recipe I've used 85g of puree, but to get 85 g of puree, I've used about 140 g of fresh sweet potato. If you steam only 85g of sweet potato, you'll get less amount of puree ;)

I want to try it out but without the yeast. Maybe using egg whites or vinegar with baking soda could be healthier. Either way after forming the ball I have to let it seat for an hour but if it’s with egg whites?

Ciao Elisa e benvenuta nel mio canale! Per questa ricetta ho usato le patate dolci americane, quelle con la polpa arancione; io le trovo all' Esselunga, ma non tutti le hanno. Ho usato 85 g della polpa di patate dolci bollite (o cotte al vapore come ho fatto io nel video) e schiacciate in purè. Quindi non i fiocchi già pronti per purè. Se non le trovi, puoi usare le patate normali (sempre bollite e schiacciate), ma tieni presente che hanno una polpa più bagnata rispetto alle patate americane, quindi magari dovrai ridurre la dose di latte nell'impasto. Fammi sapere se lo provi e mandami una foto su Instagram! Un abbraccio

Does the bread flour has baking soda and baking powder already added?
No. In this recipe you only have to use instant dry yeast or active dry yeast; bread flour is only bread flour without any addiction. Let me know how it turns out! Happy baking 😘

Can I use whole wheat flour instead of bread flour to make this sweet potato bread ?
Yes, but the amount you need of whole wheat flour is different than bread flour. Add it little bu little and stop until you get the soft dough consistency you can see in the video. If you add too much whole wheat flour, the bread will turn out hard and not fluffy.

Hi Mariam! I think it could be about 1/3 cup, but I honesly didnt' press it in a cup to misure it...I used a kitchen scale. If you use 1/3 cup of sweet potato puree, add milk in few times to get the perfect dough consistency: you have to get very soft and slighlty sticky dough. Let me know! Hugs
