talking about the pistol mag holders I guess if you are running that plate carrier in a combat situation you would only use it for spare pistol magazines on top of what you have in the magazine pouches so if you ran out of ammo for your main weapon then ran out of ammo for your side arm you would use them or if you want to carry magazines with a specific type of ammo that you may need but not generally or you could carry other items like glow sticks or bandages would like to hear your thoughts

Figured I'd update and say that I got it removed finally by a competent gunsmith and found out it has no threads! I also learned that it is a pre ban rifle and worth around 4x what I paid for it. Now I just need to get the barrel threaded for ak muzzle devices.

If your running some good plates and have a cheap vest that can do what you need your covered
While a lot of people think that all Chinese products are garbage. It's not actually true, since China's economy industry is basically capitalism. Alot of these mass quantities low quality dirt cheap product are made by companies that wanted to save cost and make more money. So (If the price is low the quality is most likely be low)
Had one for airsoft. Worker kit is one of those cosmetic airsoft company, but they do actually good quality stuff for the price. Platewise, idk about the freeplate ya got for ya friend but its better than nothing.

In Afghanistan I ran double stacked 3x single m4 pouches and my 4 pistol mags on the front of that. It was still skinny enough to allow me full range of movements in the turret with a 50 who's receiver sticks into the turret more than a mark would. Last thing you want is tight mag or awkward mag pouches for your primary system.
These elastic mag pouches on the side are for AR-15 magazines and other similar sized objects like radios and stuff, not pistol mags. It's a direct copy of Spiritus Systems' Elastic HLT Cummerbund designed for their own LV119 plate carrier but with small section of laser cut MOLLE. You also have a replacable placard on the front that fits 3 magazines and that's where your rifle mags should go in the first place.
@Hakari what radio is similar size to an ar mag? Maybe a sure fire 60 but that's a double stack. I'm pretty sure those sides are pistol Mags and fronts are ar

That plate carrier looks like a knockoff of something AR500 would make but with a few interesting modifications here and there. The cummerbund section over the front plate pouch in particular (on top of the very Condor brand looking mag pouches) reminds me of the Invictus Plate carrier, but that could just be mimicking other general industry trends...
Aren't the cumber bun pouches more for administrative gear like radios and tourniquets? Seem just slightly wide for pistol mags but just about right for those other items.
I mean for the added sense of protection and ability to carry some extra tools, it’s solid. It’s no highspeed cool guy avs, but if it suits your needs than why not. Just don’t get plate checked
Lots of knockoff chinese gun accessories, like optics/light mounts are pretty legit as well, the fit and finish is not as good but they do the job for the fraction of the price.
