Different geographic locations just have different types of scenery. I have seen something like these woods+mountains on the northern end of the lake district if you go to the less tourist part, its slightly more dangerous but definitely worth it. I live in the outskirts of Liverpool where it becomes more countryside and there are no shortages of deep countryside and beautiful spots, you have to just pack a ruck and go looking where you wouldnt expect.
When I was in cold weather training in norway, we had cold weather MREs and they all had Mountain house as there main meal, these were pretty banger, not only with taste but with digestion.

You should get some QMAXX for your firearms while hiking. It does a great job, from keeping moisture off of your guns. I had it for a year now and when I was able to go hiking this summer. I was able to keep my guns rust and moisture free. I prefer the black diamond one because it’s able to last longer and for some reason it smells like blueberries, which is very pleasant. You can find it on amazon for around 15 to 16 dollars.
Hiking in the Cascades with a rifle....God, I love the PNW. Also, MCW's are overpriced as fuck. Buy a Size 10 can and pack the stuff into 1-meal units with a heat sealer. If you want to get really elaborate, you can put snack items in other bags and seal all the packs into one larger one, MRE-style.

The cascade mountains...I too remember this place. Lots of fond memories when I was a kid hiking with friends and family from Paradise upwards. I've only moved from Tacoma 2 years ago and now I'm suddenly getting homesick.
