Thanks! It was a great itinerary! This was our first cruise, but we were very impressed with how they handled Phil's dietary requirements. We loved the Norwegian Star - it was the perfect size for our first cruise - not too big and crowded but still plenty of options for dining and entertainment.

    Soooo much to do onboard!
    Lovely sunset. Nice room.
You seem all set for a great holiday - as long as you don’t get seasick 🤔

Yeah, you'd never get bored, always something to do onboard. We didn't even get to explore it all on the first day, you'll see more of the ship in future videos!😉 And yeah, that would was still a concern, but I knew I'd probably not get seasick for at least the first couple of days since we were still in pretty calm waters!😅

Yea the Cruise Director Elizabeth is amazing ! What an asset to NCL . Best I’ve seen , so much energy and so happy all the time ,provides so many activities and entertainment for a smaller ship. Such a hard itinerary to work as well with the weather , multi cultural etc.Over heard her speaking to some guests in German and Spanish also👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻🥰

@@TrevorHumpy yeah she was great, full of energy! We were saying it must be a hard job as a cruise director, having to be constantly perky and enthusiastic, what if you're having a bad day & don't feel up to it??😆 But she did amazingly well 👏🏼

No activities for me I’m afraid. I get seasick just looking at a boat. 😅

@The Life of Reilly I'm going on the Star in May, did you get seasick at all? I'm worried because it is a smaller ship that I might get sick.

hi... I loved this vid (I myself had a great voyage covering some of the same destinations back in 2014 - Buenos Aires, Ushuaia etc and I loved Montevideo especially). Also had a wonderful trip in 2019 which covered the Falkland Islands and South Georgia - was truly amazing!!...Incidentally have you found that NCL is one of the better cruise lines as regards handling of dietary requirements overall? I have exactly the same requirement myself (gluten and lactose intolerance). My experience has been somewhat mixed to be honest - then again I've only been with 3 or 4 different cruise lines in total.. For me its always the No 1 consideration (along with the itinerary of course)....also would you recommend this particular NCL ship? Thanks again....Regards - Peter

Nice video. I watched wanting to see a balcony room sine we are about to book a cruise on this ship. Good to see gluten free options since I hace Celiac disease.

Thanks! We found that the balcony room was just a perfect size for the 2 of us & it was great having the outdoor space! Yeah, they're well-equipped to look after those with Celiac & food allergies. As well as filling out a special request form for dietary requirements when you book, we'd recommend going to speak to the restaurant manager on embarkation day, they can put you in touch with the waiter who looks after special dietary requirements, Vijay was our waiter & he was great, so helpful!😊

I just booked Reykjavik to New York City this July on the Star, inside cabin 10057, just across the hall from you guys! Nice to know I've got a blue door, and I'm assuming the same room as you showed, except for the balcony. Thanks for the nice coincidence!

Hey, thanks for watching! That sounds like an amazing trip! 😊 The Star is a great ship, and that cabin is in a good location, close to the forward lifts & stairs. I think the inside cabins have a smaller square meterage, and from what we saw passing when the doors were open, the bed faces the door. I'm sure you'll have a great trip, enjoy!😁

We were booked Azamara Amsterdam to Reykyavik, and I assumed airfare home to Atlanta would be "reasonable". It wasn't! The price of the 11 day cruise for the two of us is about $1000 more than the airfare. So what the hell! I haven't heard great things about Norwegian, I'm hoping for the best, and you made a great video to sell me! Thanks you, hope the trip is half as good as you make it sound. @@thelifeofreillytravels

Do you recommend embarking as early as possible , midday or as late as possible? Not sure what to pick?

    • @thelifeofreillytravels
      @thelifeofreillytravels  Год назад

We'd recommend booking as early an embarkation time as possible, that should give you plenty time to check in at the port, check out your cabin & make sure everything is okay, have lunch & explore the ship before it gets too busy . We had an 11am slot, but unfortunately, through no fault of the cruise line, check-in at the port took 2.5 hours, so everything felt a bit rushed once we got on board!

Yeah, we found NCL were great for their free-from options. Phil's favourite breakfast option was gluten-free French toast, which he's not been able to have in ages!😋 Enjoy your trip in May! Which ship are you sailing on?

We were on the same cruise then, this was 15th Jan!😆 We saw the helicopter dropping water, got some footage of it but it was a bit too shaky & blurry to use in the video sadly.
