Enjoyed this very much. A bit disapointing though that so many coats in a 700 euro plus price bracket still contain wool mixes/ are not 100% wool. Feels like you are paying more for the design and name than the quality.
Im still in love with my ACNE studios coat I have already 5 years. Its a single breasted wool coat 100% wool, over knee /calf length, I still love it, the quality is amazing!
I love that you elaborate that almost every high-quality goods could be produced anywhere, it's just the brands that taking advantage over the low-cost labour countries to profit themselves more.
1000% agree although I did get a black double breasted long coat from the row at the end of last winter. It was before their huge price increase but was absolutely an investment. The point is, having that perfect coat has discouraged me from buying any other coats. And it’s all anyone will see of me for the next 6 months! Love your recommendations too!
Wow the Rier 3 Button Coat is definetely my favorite, it looks so structured and thick, which is also the reason I adore Thom Browne ( and want to buy a complete set 🙈)
Thank you tuba, my soul needed this. Coats need to protecc us! I have been searching but I am still searching, this was a good reminder to look in the mens section of coats! I totally forgot this 👏
my preference...single close 3/4 length coats... wool, leather, rainwear, canvas, linen.....works will with pants, skirts or dresses [ short, knee length, midi, maxi ]
This is perfect timing!! too many years of sack like coat have me craving one that nips me in at the waist. I like the House of Dagmar blazer coat but then I saw the Rohe single-breasted coat and now I'm torn. Tuba help meeeee!
I go straight to the care label. If its a winter coat and not some kind of wool, Im 100% out. I wear all kinds of styles, but thats the one thing I absolutely require (unless obviously its like a puffer coat)
Some fibers need a bit support, like cashmere, otherwise they can easily get saggy, that’s why I find a bit polyamid ok, but always prefer a good 100% of wool. The best fabric for coats ever!
Don’t worry, baby alpaca yarn doesn’t come from an actual baby alpaca and it’s not cruel. It’s the fiber from the adult alpaca’s softest part, like the chest. It’s all good 😊
I love the look of the floor length ones, ones that hit just at the top of my sneakers, I'm in summer at the moment but I definitely need to buy a decent coat for winters. Definitely agree of the 100% wool point, if you're spending a lot I'd exclusively buy that and I only want something with waist emphasis since I like the more feminine silhouette.
I got black YSL Chesterfield coat (famous Harry Styles one), it has stupid super-skinny Hedi Slimane's fit with tiny armholes, BUT its the best coat I ever touched and I can not get YSL coats out of my head. It's just so impeccable, very heavy, sturdy, with padded shoulders and luxurious lining. Color is the blackest of black, never seen that good deep black before. I don't know where to get such a good coat, brand new Saint Laurent ones cost 3-5k EUR, and buying a second hand one - not many non-skinny normal fit ones on the market in my size ATM.
i'll definitely get a bespoke long coat before heading US from Bangladesh. the craftsmanship is spectacular if one knows how to communicate the right way.
I've been struggling to find a good coat. The bixy oversized trend that has been dominating for the past few years isn't for me. I dont have the frame for the silhouette. Unfortunately, as much as I like it, I look like a floating head in top of a big box 😅. Cocoon and soft hourglass shaped coat suit me better, but they are not trendy and hard to find 😢😢.
Yes! Especially on pants, I feel like on men’s you just need to be a bit more careful with the arm length, an overly access of fabric might not always look pleasing. But overall yes yes yes! Especially on outerwear and pants.
well so... I bought a very oversized almost to the floor black wool coat at the Zara sale because it is 50% wool and $99. Do you think this was a timeless choice? :)
None of these are "timeless" and will be stylish "forever". I don't know how old you are, I'm guessing you are in your 20s, but you are caught up very much in a "now" aesthetic, thinking it will forever be "the" aesthetic or even your aesthetic. None of these coats will look good or fashionable in a few years, there might be a complete fashion upheaval and that whole look will be as irrelevant as skinny jeans are now. I know you are living off of these affiliate links but most of the coats and brands you are linking are essentially overpriced fast fashion. The fabrics are mostly inferior blends that will most likely wear and age badly.

Wool blended with some synthetic fibers isn't a sign of bad quality,it makes for a stronger fabric
Easier maintenance, and stronger material. If you want 100% of something, try shopping vintage. Most luxury brands used to produce 100% material
You are definitely the most serious youtube channel about fashion that I have ever seen

I love my long thick wool coat but it actually makes my shoulders hurt to carry the weight of it around all day 😅
To be able to wear beautiful, heavy wool coats without fatigue is one of the best reasons to start weightlifting. 😂
@@thedigitalodometer945 soo true!

" Fashion is a form of ugliness, so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months" Oscar Wilde.
Cutting to Frodo looking at the ring was so effortlessly funny omg, I almost spat out my drink
I really liked your expertise, the Korean one is my favorite so far.

Great picks and thank you for your humour.

Could you please make the same video about winter outwear: shearling jackets, puffers?..
Your intro was super. Thx, Tuba. However, as a petite & slim person most of these would read as "walking coat; no woman."
This was really good. I really appreciate the variety you showcased. I enjoy your content, Thanks!
Great video! I'm all about the peacoats, whether in fashion or not, a la Emanuelle Alt :)
I’m getting my rier boots today!!
Feel like I learn things here I didn’t know I didn’t know. Love your channel though I rarely comment.
Tuba THIS is exactly what I’m looking, searching and craving for right nooow🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you Tuba for saving me from frostbite.

And here I stand, with my 10 coats

Where is your sweater from that you’re wearing in this video? :)
Thank you Tuba! What are your thoughts around Max Mara women wool coats? Too much going on style wise or worth the investment?
Loved this video twin 💘
ahhh where is your knit from?
Could you let me know where that framed print is from or the artist? thank you :)
14:12 are you a model? You should be a model 🫡
Question: The HOMMEGIRL Coat has a Logo Patch on the cuff. I thought those were supposed to be removed after purchasing? Am I wrong?

Hi Tuba, does your rule for sizing up 1-2 sizes also apply for men? I'm conscious I don't want to look like I'm plyaing dress up.
Yes! Especially on pants, I feel like on men’s you just need to be a bit more careful with the arm length, an overly access of fabric might not always look pleasing. But overall yes yes yes! Especially on outerwear and pants.

off topic but what do you use to style your hair?
Hello Tuva, where is your favorite place to see new collections? Vogue runway is now only accessible with subscription. Thank you ! :)

I ❤you! Your sense of style. - I just love.😍😍
🫶🏾👏🏾
I really like Studio Nicholson's designs but find it so sad they use a lot of polyamide and other synthetic blends.
such good advice. would love it if you considered ethical aspects (like animal cruelty) more deeply.
Thank you for spelling out gut betucht / reich betucht!
ur not half turkish by any chance are you?
lemaire coat made in Romania? umm so people making it and getting paid pennies… 😔
Engagement engagement engagement
Elegant choices but it would only fit Tall people
Shorties we are stick with fast fashion 😖
I am not tall and always wear long-ish coats and pants! It depends on the fit, but I also get almost all my pants tailored. There is a way 🫡🌹
Too much talking.
What in gods name are you talking about
