  • Video showing how I did a repair on a custom painted Harley motorcycle fuel tank. A few tips and tricks mentioned.
    The metalflake paint job had a chip and a few bubbles in it.
    Silver metallic coated with metalflake, then candy gold, candy tangerine, candy red fades.
    I clearcoated the complete tank

    Awesome match, I don't know many painters that would have even attempted a repair, they would take pictures and repaint the entire tank to achieve what you just repaired.

      Thanks Rick. It was a good paying job. I'm glad it all worked out. I'm the local 'go to' guy when no one else wants to attempt it lol

    Nice work.I am surprised who ever did that tank did not filler out the seam.

      @TAZattitude  Год назад

      Yes, are are right on that. Most of that area I was either covered with the dash, or the tank bib. If I remember right though, when he road his bike over, he didn't have the bib on.
      Also, when I very first wrote the estimate quite awhile ago, it was just the chip on the side

    Could you do a tube on how this tank was done

      Hi, Actually, I did not do this paint job. I only had to repair it. So I had to figure out how it was done and try to figure out the colors!

    A lot of pre thinking of strategy before painting is key, best custom paint channel on u tube, what clear do you use to finish?

    • @TAZattitude
      @TAZattitude  Год назад

      You are exactly right!!! I use Medallion clear, it's a Euro clear so it's 2 to 1. Comes in 5 liters, fairly thick, No solvent pop, and tacks up nicely.

    Hey got a question for ya. I work in a body shop and just got my first side job. Customer wants his chrome truck bumpers paint matched white. What would be a fair price to charge? No r and i

    • @TAZattitude
      @TAZattitude  Год назад +1

      The chrome should really be stripped. You're going to do alot of sanding on it, then prime.
      I'd say about $200 each plus maybe $200 materials for a solid white. Just a guess.

    You are awesome. When do you use clear base or clear coat when doing flakes or graphic?

    • @TAZattitude
      @TAZattitude  Год назад

      Appreciate it. I use the base clear in my flakes and HOK KKs, and then of course topcoat clear as the final clear.
      If I was doing a complete flake job with candy. I use topcoat clear, resand, THEN candy over it. You can see that in one my other videos
