    Akaso v50 x has many versions, different quality, different hardware and software. The first Akaso v50x was the best. I've sold akaso v50x, I'm bored and disappointed

      I agree, I was lucky to get one of the first versions, and although it had minor issues, I wish I had never updated the firmware on it, because it was never the same again after that, and when I purchased a new one a year or two later, it was complete garbage with new hardware and firmware that never worked.

      @@NW1337_RUclips I got new information from the review of the Akaso v50 x which will be released in 2024.
      Akaso x50 x , In the box packaging, the font X is printed thinly. Using USB Type C, gyroscope is in the menu, the video image is more stable.
      The difference in version can be seen from the box packaging, with the difference in fonts
      1. V50X Letter X Without spaces
      2. V50 X letter X with a space
      3. V50 x Huruf X ditulis dengan Font Tipis
      I found the unboxing video of akaso x50 x 2024

    I'm not sure I can identify what 'issues', you're referring to in your video heading?? The imagery seems GREAT, short of a bit more contrast-ness..? A smidgen darker if anything but richer in color? Don't get it...

      Thank you for watching and leaving a comment. I did do a bit of a run down all of the issues in the description of the video, but I have to say the worst issue that really couldn't be worked around was the variable frame rate which causes the stuttering of the video. It might depend on what you are watching it on (phone, or tv, or PC) but when I view this video on a PC monitor, the stuttering is so horrendous that I wouldn't use the footage.

      @@NW1337_RUclips Verrrrrreey interesting. I do quite a bit of photography and editing and the video I ‘see’ on YT shows none of your descriptive context (reason why I articulated). I watched on a 2015 MacBook Pro additionally and the vid looked perfect in that, there was no stuttering… I’ll re-watch it and review it closer but for what I can identify, zero issues from a ‘viewer’ standpoint. I’ll review it my brand new iMac on Safari and Chrome to give a response. Cheers. I just bought the V50x and it’s in firmware 4.1. No issues with these vids I can see either per se. (Full disclosure; been messing with it for only 8 hours…)

    Nice vídeo. I have a 2020 v50x as well. Mine I updated to firmware v3 in 2021. Works very well, but I was looking a new firmware because It is very slow to copy vídeos by wi-fi feature. After your vídeo, I confess I'm afraid and won't update anymore. About your New one, maybe Akaso changed some components. This is very comom due cost deductions. They always put worse components after a modelo make success.

      Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Yes Akaso definitely made some hardware changes since the original model. When I held them side by side I could see they were not identical. The screen has changed a lot, and even the waterproof case that comes with it changed design slightly. I agree that if the camera is working OK, then don't risk a firmware upgrade or you might end up worse off than when you started.

    Thanks very much for your videos. I just purchased a V50X with FW version 4.1. I wonder if this fixes any of the issues that you found on 4.0. Do you have any experience with 4.1? I can't find what the changes are between them.

      That's very interesting, thank you for the information. I haven't tried 4.1 at all, only up to 4.0. The changes might just be bug fixes, hopefully they have fixed the frame rate and exposure issues. You could try shooting some video in 2.7K/30FPS with a manual ISO set to 100 and exposure compensation set to 0, and see if it produces usable footage with a smooth frame rate (needs to have motion in the video like traffic or something like that). Please post a sample clip to RUclips if you can, I would be interested in checking it out.....👍

      @@NW1337_RUclips can you test the 4.1? And i noticed that in 2k the FOV are larger, is it normal?

    I enjoyed the video. And excuse me, I need v4.0 firmware, can you send me the file? And which firmware do you think is the best among v1.0~4.0 firmware?

    • @NW1337_Youtube
      @NW1337_Youtube  2 года назад

      Thank you watching and leaving a comment. Unfortunately I don't have V4.0 firmware files, that is the version which was already installed on both V50X's that I tested. I asked the amazon seller for support on the frame rate issues, and they emailed me a link to V3.0 firmware, which I do have the files for. I also have a couple of V2.0 firmwares, one of which almost bricked my 2 year old V50X, but I managed to find the original V1.0 firmware online and restored it. There have been some hardware revisions to this model over the years, even though the model number is the same "V50X" and only Akaso knows which firmware works with which hardware revision. If you try to install the wrong firmware version there is a good possibility that you will brick the camera. So if you are having an issue with the camera that you think a firmware update will resolve, I really recommend you contact Akaso or the place you bought it from and they can make sure they send you the correct firmware for your specific hardware revision. I hope that makes sense, and I am not trying to be difficult about it, but my experience with almost bricking my own V50X has taught me this lesson. I didn't find any appreciable difference between V3.0 and V4.0, as both of them had exposure and frame rate issues.

    Where do you get the Firmware versions from?

    • @NW1337_Youtube
      @NW1337_Youtube  2 года назад

      I actually got the version 3.0 firmware from the amazon seller when I messaged them about the frame rate issues. The version 1.0 is on my original V50X which I had at one time upgraded the firmware to 2.0 on, which almost bricked it. In that case I got the firmware from Akaso themselves by emailing them using the link on their website. They try to help you troubleshoot issues with the camera before they will send you the firmware from my experience, they just don't offer firmware upgrades for no reason. Thanks for watching and commenting.
