I got my v50x a few weeks ago and the microphone is pretty good! At first I played back a video on the camera itself and the sound was horrible, but I realized it's the speaker NOT the microphone. Playing videos back on my computer proved the microphone works pretty well and I DIDN'T have to turn the volume up much on the computer to hear everything. My only 2 issues are: 1. It sucks in lower light. 2. When I turn the camera on and hit record it will beep but it DOESN'T record. I have to hit record a second time. Once it's been on I can start and stop recording without issue so I can live with this. And you can tell if it's recording by the red blinking light on the screen. One cool thing is it takes the same batteries as my 11-year-old sj4000.
Stabilization on the V50x is GREAT. But Picture quality I would DEFINITELY have to go with the EK7000 The EK7000 is clearer and the colors pop more where the V50X is DULL and DARK.
The V50X is fine. Don't know i'd be comfortable paying full price for it but might consider it. Struggles severely in some areas but also does some things well Unlike the EK7000 or Pro.
The EK7000 PRO looks WAY clearer and brighter, making it easier to see, particularly for uploading to social media. The V50X looks dark, blurry and less impressive, EXCEPT for the electronic stabilization. Based on this video, I would go with the EK7000 PRO over the V50X in a heartbeat. Great video - very helpful.
Nice video, really useful because I was looking for a budget action camera but I was never satisfied with the stabilization or dynamic range, looking forward for the gopro comparison 😉
Thanks for this video! I was looking for really cheap action cameras I won't feel bad about breaking with my extreme weather usage. Thanks for suggesting the V50X as that alternative! I wonder what sensor and processing chip it has. The 4K timelapse mode and dynamic range look perfect for my weather needs.
In most of those shots, the ek7000 had a better looking picture. The stabilisation might be better on the v50 but, personally, the EK picture quality looked better.
i think your confusing what a better picture is with a camera that has more saturation by default. if you take the footage of the v50X and add a little brightness and saturation on post editing you will get the same image with finer detail. the better quality of the sensor of the v50x is mostly noticeable when the zoom in on the swans is shown.
' on post editing you will get the same image with finer detail' A lot of people don't have the time or patience to do this so the Ek7000 pro becomes more tempting.
The thing about the audio, for these cameras, provided you can get audio with a proper external source, I do not give a flying f about, BUT I can see some people screaming in pain having worse audio with the V50. Not an issue for me, cause, when it comes to audio, to Caesar what is Caesar´s. Rode Wireless Go mics and audio externally. All you want is the shot it provides. I really loved your review and your attitude. Well earnt subscription mate! Keep them coming! Cannot believe you did it all in 10:00 minutes.
I bought the V50x and it is not very good. The audio is terrible so the external mic is a must unless you only do silent video. Battery life is bad. Charge it fully, then leave it for two days turned off. Pick it up, start filming and the battery is empty after 2 minutes... The app for transferring your movies to your phone etc. sucks. So, spend some more and you will get a better camera.
The ek7000 pro.Everybody seems to be saying this camera is great. My experience was something different from file errors to not recording video but displaying it is, in the end it just wouldn't turn on sent it back saved my hard earned cash and got a go pro hero 7 black. The most annoying thing about it was when using stabilisation you can not use timestamp and the battery life is terrible.
The 1-inch sensor on ONE R is really impressive for low light, and smartphones as well, like iPhone 11 Pro and Pixel, they have incredible processing of low-light photography.
Osmo Action is pretty cool, but even on sale right now, $259. For $40 more, then there's GoPro 8. I'm waiting for new Osmo Action, maybe v2 will be good
Does anyone know there's a way to keep this plugged in for continuous recording? I wanted to do time-lapse videos and didn't want camera dying on me. Or is the answer just getting extra batteries?
Those are fun too, and I like the small size. I think the average consumer probably wants a touchscreen to preview the shot, playback, change settings, etc
This comparison is biased, it's clear the only metric he cares about is imagine stabilization. I see a ton more details in EK in EIS off mode, whereas the V50X with EIS on is just a blur and muddy. Comparing the microphone of V50X to EK's is also not fair. There is clearly some sort of wind noise suppression going on in the V50X where as I hear wind noise in the EK. The muted audio effect is likely the processing artifacts of wind noise suppression, similar to the loss of details in EIS.
7:16 - Am I blind or is the 7000 way better on balanced exposure and WAY better detail. Just look at the lamp and the window frames . This Dude's after the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Pause at 3:18. Look at the grass. Look at the water later in the video, look at the leaves of the tree. 7:26 The resolution of the EK7000 to ME seems much better than that of the V50. Yes, it's true, 4k is upscaled by the EK7000, the sensor is only 1080p - I own it myself and did the research. But what really matters is the resulting resolution, not the amount of pixels. This is defined more by the lense really. The one thing that I think the EK7000 does poorly, it seems to have much much much too much of a sharpening filter active. That's why the face looks so weird. And yes, image stabilization is of course very poor.
ngl v50x is definitely the best in term of balance of money. Plus, they get better firmware support from akaso for some reason. The v50x is definitely akaso's favorite child.

The EK7000 is clearer and the colors pop more where the V50X is DULL and DARK.
naw the picture quality is way better on the v50x and you can remedy the dull colors in post processing, theres really no point to getting the ek7000
V50X's stabilization is amazing

the ek looked better color wise. but everyone sees color differently i guess!! thanks for the video tho!!!
The stabilization on the V50 X is amazing.
Thats just cropping the image to stabilise it.

How can they get everything else so good, on the V50X except for the audio which is so bad ?
I'm about to order a V50X, and the proper Akaso external microphone for it.
@@calysagora3615how'd the external mic end up sounding?
Waited for this review ! Thankyou so much for it ! What about the other akaso models of v50 like v50elite and all of those ,are they worth comparing?
Possibly! I watched some comparisons and I think I kinda liked the V50X out of those 3, but haven't tested hands-on yet. If there's enough interest..

I'm planning to buy the v50x but from the mic quality I probably need a external mic,do you have a preference that works with the cam well

Is there a big difference between the V50X and the V50Pro? Would like to see a comparison of those two
Do you recommend V50X for often vlogs and stabilization?
Amazing video as always

Wow, thanks!
I want a camera I can run either. I'm a faster than average runner. So stabilisation is important tbh. V50X or EK7000?
Great video. Thanks.
V50 X's stabilization is better, but EK7000 Pro's audio is a lot better..
basically, the more expensive camera is better than the cheaper one every time
Would you recommend the EK7000 Pro for filming a cricket match from the boundary?
ok, that is a real review. Thanks buddy.
Hi ... which of those 2 would you recommend in recording indoor basketball games?
It'll be installed in a tripod TYVM !
V50 is won! But the mic is they have external mic on it.
