I sorry that the Melle products are going through trying times. But we as a people need to read the ingredients on all things food/hair and body, I have an allergic to coconut and that was the first thing I saw on the oil, my eyes went straight to it. I don’t buy a lot of of these natural products because I can’t do a lot of them I have allergies and asthma. Henna is another natural product I can’t use because it dyed my hair and took the oxygenation out of my hair. So my suggestion is to know your body. I’m going to a Trichologist that is bringing my hair back to life. 🙏🏽❤️ praying for everyone

I was one who experienced hair loss. I’ve been natural for over 10 years and have used and loved many Mielle products. That’s what made it hard to identify what the issue was. I thought it was hormonal or a vitamin deficiency of some sort. I was trying everything to stop the shedding and thinning around my hairline. I even had a small bald spot at the crown of my hair. It’s been about 4 months since I stopped using the rosemary hair mask (one of my favs) and all the symptoms have stopped and my hairline is thickening up again. This was not a coincidence. I have no reason to lie and am not an influencer.
You get one chance to calm fears in these situations. There are just too many stories. Black women don’t play about our hair. Good luck to them getting women to trust that brand again. I’ll stick with small brands and my kitchen from now on. Smh.

No one created hysteria for me. I'm not on tiktok. I haven't had an IG in years. I was using their rosemary line. Then my scalp began to look as if it had been burned. The hair came straight out. It didn't even look like I had follicles. I thought I'd developed an autoimmunity. This was before I traced it back to the products. I went to the doctor, had a complete workup. Normal. I started to do product elimination. I began with the proucts newly added. Surprise, surprise Mielle. I only found other's had similar experiences with Mielle when I came across a random video on RUclips a couple of months ago. It's been a year since my initial experience and my scalp is still recovering.

I’m so confused about her saying “haters”. Aren’t there other hair care product companies who are just as, if not even more successful? Why would she be so special that people just had to sabotage her company? And I don’t mean that to be funny? The reality is when a complaint came early, had she done some production introspection she could saved her company. I don’t see any accountability on her part. I’m so happy I never jumped on the Moeller bandwagon. I just always felt something was off about the company and products. I’m happy I was discerning about certain things and I’m sure going forward, so many others will be now as well! So sorry to those that suffered due to this company…

it's unfortunate that all of this is going down, especially at the detriment of our hair (as you stated). i can honestly say that i have never been able to handle the rosemary hair care like (pre and post acquisition). it didn't work for me, i felt the dry/brittleness of my hair after using the oil and my scalp was more sensitive than it should have been. that's a me thing, i learned that, so i stopped using it. i also have an issue with the shampoo/conditioner/curl smoothie from the pomegranate line, but my hair THRIVES with the leave-in conditioner and only that. these are the same issues that i had with raw coconut oil when the trend happened. my hair did NOT like that. the sensitivities involving individuals hair are vast, we just gotta be willing to pay attention.
what i find disappointing with this particular situation is that, seeing that SO MANY individuals are having an issue, why not say "hey, guys, we are hearing there's some issue with this product with way too many of our clients, we will be pulling it down and analyzing the problem." i think that is a much better way of handling things ESPECIALLY when she continues to say that all she cares about is the health of the hair. if that is her stance, then show it. don't turn it into a playground fight, listen to your consumers and move forward. we are human beings, mistakes happen, fix it. people will respect that more than lawsuits.

I have been following this case, and I think both things can be true at the same time.
I believe that her product was slandered and libeled via influencers who has no moral compass and will accept money to spout off about anything, and I also believe that putting essential oils directly on your scalp is incredibly risky and bad for both hair and follicles.
Essential oil is literally the most powerful parts of plants and herbs.
It needs a carrier oil if it's going to be used on the scalp, but oils and butters do not allow sebum, the natural oil your body produces, to exit the follicle because the follicle is blocked.
This follicle blocking causes hair loss. Once the follicle is blocked, continued use of essential oil on the scalp kills the follicle, often permanently.
The only thing that I believe Monique Rodriguez messed up on is not acknowledging the role of the essential oils in her products.

    • @KlassicallyKept
      @KlassicallyKept  3 дня назад +7

      Good morning,
      Thank you for this!
Using essential oils is definitely a balancing act.
From what I understand the reason many people loved Mielle was because of their constant use of essential oils in their collections. Since this situation many specialized doctors have said that leaving essential oils on your scalp can be counterproductive.
I think there is room to fix this and to bounce back. I people are looking for transparency and to not be ignored.

    • @Grandma_Jizzzzzzzard
      @Grandma_Jizzzzzzzard 3 дня назад +3

@@KlassicallyKept I agree. Anyone following this case knows that there are thousands, if not potentially millions, of women in the comment sections talking about the same experience over and over again. That is not a coincidence.
It is very unusual for women to post vulnerable hair experiences on the Internet, because most people prefer to post their best self, or what they see as their best self.
I do not believe these women are lying. I hope she doesn't start gaslighting people. But I also feel bad for her because the level of scrutiny she is under has to be very uncomfortable and frustrating during the holiday season, when we are supposed to be thankful for each other.

I have concerns about how that oil is formulated. Essential oils are typically 1-5% of a formulation, which means they should be towards the bottom of the ingredients. This percentage range is often to prevent the likelihood of irritation. Even it were 10-15% it would be towards the bottom of the ingredient list and heavily diluted. Ingredients should be listed from largest to smallest on product labels. Essential oils like tea tree, peppermint, rosemary, etc. can be extremely irritating and drying if they are not diluted properly. I haven't looked at the other products in the line. Given Monique's history with bullying influencers I am not sure I believe her. I have not used any of the products from this line.

She should re-think her packaging and put a tight, strong seal under the cap so that you can't even get a whiff of it without breaking the seal, and the seal can't accidently come off (like TB's line).

The thing I find about mostly all of the products that are started by LLC self starting companies ( meaning started at home) is that they are largely protein based and it is from the perspective of what worked for that particular individual’s hair. My hair tangles up with protein based products. I found that out the hard way. I applaud these entrepreneurs for starting these businesses and I would encourage them to keep growing. That being said… we have to take the feedback and grow from it and not double down on an “ our product works” position. If you want growth, you have to understand the science of our hair and that we all need different needs for our specific hair types and conditions.

I loved the way initially the Rosemary & Mint made my scalp feel, but after about 20-30 minutes my scalp would become itchy and inflammed. I tried it multiple situations (freshly washed, prepoo-poo scalp treatment, hot oil treatment, etc) however I always had the same reaction. So my thinking is my scalp is sensitive in something in the formulation - which can happen to anyone with any product they try.

When a product goes into mass production the quality of the product is likely to be compromised. Production companies want to get the product out to as many people as possible, while the company spends as least as possible. With that being said, the ingredients may not have changed, but as you said, the quality of the product may have changed in order to cut cost. I would also be willing to bet that the formula would also change once a product goes into mass production, for example: if the oil cost more/less than aloe, the company might decide to use more aloe than oil. So, all the same ingredients are there, but just in different quantities.

My daughter and I have had a good experience with Mielle. I started using it in Dec 2023 (after it was sold). I use almost every product in the rosemary mint line-some daily, some weekly etc. The front of my hair (where I was mostly applying the oil to strengthen my edges and grow my hair back from damage) has grown so much, it almost looks fake lol. But I agree with you - I do not like the way the brand responded to this and I especially agree “everyone cannot be lying”.
I’m probably going to try the sunny isle rosemary mint oil next because I’ve heard good things about it, but I’ll continue to use the rosemary mint line because it works for me/my daughter and we have been using it for a year. I swear my daughter has the longest thickest 4b hair of a 3 year old ever lol

Monique has a right to defend her brand, if, as she says, her products have not changed and are deemed to be safe. I do implore anyone experiencing hair damage and who attributes it to Mielle's products to go to a dermatologist to get confirmation and/or to rule out other issues.

Regarding defamation lawsuits and going public as far as I can recall what your saying is true unless P&G and/or Mielle enters into a settlement with the offenders. In that case there’s a clause of non disclosure in the agreement and it would never be made public. We as the public would never know. This is often the case with high profile lawsuits. I became aware of the issues with Miele a few short months ago, on this channel. I am glad I did. I tried the Rosemary Mielle a couple years ago. I was surprised at all the hype about the hair care line. My hair was dry and tangled, just like the lady’s hair in the video; my hair is shorter. I was so disappointed and concerned because my hair is colored.
Over a lot of time, I ended up mixing the remaining Mielle products with other products on my hair, and used it to wash my hairbrushes, combs, satin cap etc., so it wouldn’t be a total loss. I kept the bottle the oil came in, but I use it to mix my own concoctions.
I just remembered, I tried the regular Mielle before the Rosemary, maybe a few years prior, and had a similar, but a little better result. My hair is medium length, 4C, and colored with a rinse. The product that I am currently using works wonders on my hair type, and I’m glad I found it. Perhaps my hair texture was just not conducive to Mielle’s ingredients/brand.
Actually, in the past, store bought products yielded better results than Mielle, for me. Thanks so much, KK for staying on top of this saga. BTW, I don’t believe this case will see the light of a trial. Monique and Mielle’s current owners DO NOT want that deposition smoke. BUT, I could be wrong… Reciprocally, I would enjoy eating popcorn and sipping tea, watching you editorialize every detail.☺️ Keep up the great work, KK!

I always thought it was the braids but once i heard the stories i stopped using before my braids and i currently dont have any Issues 🤷🏾‍♀️. So i definitely think something is going on with that line. If there's sabotage maybe is within the company who's making the formula. My hair definitely was affected. I threw those products out. However, I stoped supporting the brand when influencer Linda Lynn was bullied and disrespected for her opinion/experience with a particular collection. I agree two things can be true at the same time: some consumers have experienced hair loss/trauma and some haven't. However to say all the experiences/complaints are a result of sabotage is dangerous as it disregards and invalidate those who have experienced hair loss/trauma.

This is very interesting. It made me smile. I agree, one does not lead to the next because the original influencer was lying, doesn't mean everyone is lying. Well, it is clear what the legal strategy is to discredit the source, which would cast doubt on the claim's legitimacy. Now, all that would have lumped themselves in this falsely will drop out, and those that are legit some would decide they do not want to go any further because of the lie. Of course, some will still go through with their case, but the strength will be diminished without a large number of claimants. Therefore, pushing forward will take a lot of work, making it time-consuming and costly. P&G and Mielle have deep pockets that can prolong this matter in court using the original lie as cause for dismissal, and the case may die a slow death if those remaining can't prove their individual claims are valid. Very interesting to see how it all plays out.

The Rosemary Mint is a strengthening set! Just like a adding protein to strengthen hair once or twice per month! I use Mielle products and its actually working to strengthen my hair for growth. Her Rosemary Mint set should be use in place of a protein treatment, if you prefer! That’s how strong it is! If used too often for weekly or biweekly shampooing, yes, Rosemary Mint Strengthening will dry out your hair, just like a protein treatment! If using the Oil on scalp, make sure it washed out to within 1 hour or after overnight to avoid scalp irritation. So be cautious and use Mielle products for your hair concerns. I hope what stated here helps someone in their hair journey! Thank you sharing! Sharing is caring!😊❤

Thank you for this video. I agree with what you are saying 100%. I personally have never used this product line. On my healthy hair journey over the past 19 months. I have been using less and less store bought products. What works very well for me are homemade organic Ayurvedic haircare products. I make them myself, therefore, I know exactly what are in them. Right now I use 75% homemade DIY organic products and 25% store bought products. The store bought products I use, I have been using for over 20 years and are 'ride or die' products that are not expensive at all. I started reading ingredients in haircare products over 20 years ago. I have only added one new store bought product to my regimen. Which is pricy, that I order form the UK. However, because it's a product I only use a few times per year, a bottle will last me over a year.👍😊

I think what bothers me about this is how Monique and her husband are treating people who don't like the products. (I'm only on YT so I didn't know about that until recently) I get that no one wants their brand to be disparaged, but anyone who develops a products has to accept the fact that no product is truly all inclusive. Some people aren't going to like it or it won't work for some. With my hair issues, being that it is the only product that I've used (and I've tried a plethora) that is the least offensive on my hair, I probably will continue to use, but the way she and her husband responded to negative reviews leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

There were people making videos about hair loss with Mielle back in 2023. I tried the oil throughout my scalp, ends and on the edges but was using it daily from late 2022 to 2023. I had shedding throughout my hair and my edges that I bought the oil for shed even more. I stopped using it when I saw a video on YT about it. Since then my edges grow, but only to a certain point. It’s not just the extreme edges but the perimeter hair that was affected. Growth became stunted only growing so much then stopping, growth was thin, and extremely slow. Note that the rest of my hair has recovered, but it took a year to get rid of the split ends because they traveled up the shaft. The edges are growing but stunted. I wear mini twists so was using the oil on the twists, my scalp, edges, and 360 perimeter. Not all hair products are for everyone’s hair. 😞

Some people don't read labels and instructions, others misuse things. Overuse can have adverse effects. Some of the products might not have been stored by the distributers at the proper temperature causing the product to develop mold. Mielle needs to investigate where those people who claim damage purchased their products. Some people might have purchased dupes. I have suspected some of my hair products from amazon to be dupes. I have even purchased tried and true products from Target that damaged my hair. One particular product from Target which went on sale for a very cheap price, dried my hair out causing severe breakage, this is what sent me natural. My stylist said, the product went on sale because Target had them sitting in their hot warehouse probably for years way beyond their reccommended shelf life. If products are not stored at the appropriate temperature for extended periods of time, it can cause chemical changes in the formula. Mielle should investigate this issue with their distributors and retailors and not disregard customer complaints.

Mya I'm thinking it's more to your points of first transparency. You have not confirmed if your source of ingredients has changed or is up to par. Next the three possibilities happen at once, one this is not for my hair. Two that a person was paid to slander. Three I don't know how to use this product properly. I'm thinking this because I used coconut in a product and didn't like what it did to my hair so I barely trust coconut in products now. Also I've recently had not so great experiences with a really popular edge control that is just fine in other people's hair. Like Mya said if you know your hair or feel something is off with it when trying something new keep it moving if things are working. Sorry I won't be using their products but I don't think we should send hate. If you've had a bad experience please express it to them clearly and calmly because when you send hate it gives them an out for the accountability they should be taking. They can and will label it all as slander. Especially when black women do it of course that's not fair but let's live in reality. Thanks for your balance commentary on this Mya.

My friend personally showed me what Noelle did to her hair (bald spot). Plenty of ppl have come out saying the same thing as well.

I also do not think that for the people who the products do work for, should not shamed or harassed.
All products do not work for everyone.

I think they acquired her to take her out like Riches. I guarantee you they aren’t the only natural hair line for P&G and they want her out of her own company. The changes they have made are a shock to the original market and the way they are now a for everybody company, shows that they have changed.

Interesting point. A few people during my initial video spoke about sabotage as well!

17:35 if anyone is sabotaging her, it would likely be P&G. They would want to eliminate the competition by acquiring the company then ruining it. However, her nasty attitude makes it easier for people to turn against her specifically.

They can’t sue for defamation if the cease and desist was adhered to and the offense stopped. If they continued after the cease and desist that is when they could potentially sue. ****not a lawyer and this isn’t legal advice ***

I genuinely wonder how many people speaking out in support of her are actively using the products.

I used it when it first came out on one side of my hair with her products by my ear
The other side with my own oils
I got a bald spot with hers

I use this product and have no problems with it and I am 100% natural. I use the pomegranate and honey. And even the twisted gel. And have no problems at all. My hair is horse hair meaning very thick .

Didn't she sell her brand? If so 🤔 could her ingredients be manipulated?

Well I had a bad experience with Mielle Rice water deep conditioner… - my hair turned into a hard tangled rats nest- I find out later it was because of protein overload, I used it a second time and it was successful. All that to say, ppl put too much faith in products, overuse products, think with their race and are just mean spirited… I saw the bandwagon leader on TikTok and wondered what was in it for her ….

I think I bought mielle and 2023 and I didn't have any adverse reactions. I'm 2 years natural (no wigs no weaves no extensions no relaxer no silk press no braids) so Idk if my hair was dry or not but it didn't give me any trouble....😅but then I saw the reviews and never bought it again. I think I have 1/4 of the jar left

At the end of the day, ms rodriguez can claim defemation, but if there is actual merrit or truth that the mielle formula has indeed harm peoples hair, then its not a claim but facts. If Meille gets sued, then wouldnt that be contraditory? Awarding damages to some but suing another for the very things you paid damages?
