- Thanks for joining me on my thin hair/ fine hair Sisterlock Journey! September 17th maarked two months of being sisterlock'd! I'm so excited about the way my hair is changing on this sisterlock journey and if I'm being honest, I have never enjoyed my natural hair this much! My thin hair is thriving in this loc journey.

I’m a year and 4 months loc’d and my hair is the exact texture as yours, and the very reason I got Sistalocks I can honestly say I do not regret it at all. Best hair decision I’ve ever made.

I had the same problem for 2 whole years in the back , so I;decided to get an undercut to eliminate that problem. Your locs are gorgeous.

Hello Kyla, following menopause I lost a lot of my hair's volume! I carry natural locs but just lately have been considering cutting and restarting. I love to swim so it would be excellent but I don't want to be locless! I am gathering information on sisterlocs and your videos definitely are helping me with my decision - thankyou! Your hair looks like it is very happy and healthy ❤

I’m also amazed at the fullness in my own journey I’m like wow i never had this much hair! 😂 I’m having some unraveling right at the bottom too, and two locks right on my temples, so I don’t know if I might have to put some pins in my hair at night too. Look forward to seeing your journey as it progresses through the rest of the year :)
TrollownsGoblin no right? Lol. Same. And yes! My consultant said when I go to sleep/shower I can pin them up so they don’t unravel if I really want to stop the slippage in the back. It’s mostly from friction.

Yes. Get excited! That's the main reason I made this channel. I wanted women to know that you don't have to have super thick hair to get Sisterlocks! Representation matters! lol I'm happy I was helpful ! 💖

Your hair looks beautiful! And shrinking is what it’s supposed to do to thicken up! I was supposed to start mine in March, then Covid happened 😩. Can’t wait to start!

We are hair twins. I have the same issues in the same areas and my hair is about the same length. I will begin my sisterlock journey next Thursday and I'm so excited! Thanks for this vid!

@@TheRealKylaB I was natural for 9 years and was so very tired of the wash day trying a braid out and it looks crazy. So all I could do was a wash and go or a top bun. It's an understatement to say I'm loving my sisterlocks. Like most women say I should have done this sooner. You have a new subbie!
@@karladburns :) I'm glad to have you! And yes! It was such a struggle. I couldn't even do a wash and go. I could never figure out a way that works for me. I was always a low bun or a high bun natural hair wearer. lol. Sisterlocks have given me so many new styling options I couldn't do before, and I am so much happier with my hair now.
Beautiful! My hair doesn’t have very high density either and I’m getting them installed in January! You give me something to look forward to, CANNOT WAIT 🙌🏾

Where did you get yours twisted?
Also, are there any special ways that it needs to be washed?
Danielle Dalton I got them installed/established at Vanity Hair Studio in Brooklyn. And yes. You have to section them and braid them (not too tight) , Then rubber the ends so they don’t unravel, then you wash them. When they’re basically dry you can take them out of the braids.
My front row is what keeps unraveling. I'm kind of frustrated with them. I'm almost 2 months in. My front row unraveled after my initial install and after my first retie.
Don’t be frustrated. That kind of thing happens in the beginning. I had that issue with my back row for some time. But eventually, your hair will get with the program.
What did you do about the bottom row, that’s happening with mine now!
I was just more careful with it. minimized the friction - shower caps, head scarves, bonnets, etc. I pinned them to other locs

☺️ thank you! I actually grew my hair out too. When I went for my first consultation, I had about 4” of hair. lol that was in 2016.
I cut off 4 inches in March🤦🏽♀️ Thought of getting sisterlocks afterwards😫 Covid hit so I guess that worked out😅 Loving the look and fullness of yours 😍and now I know it will shrink even less at 7 inches so I should wait until sometime next year! Thank you for being consistent with your posts every month...You are really taking us on that journey! 🙌🏽BTW your skin is flawless!!!😍

What is your hair texture please? I have fine low density strands. Looser coils in the back, very little curl pattern in the crown and in between in the front and sides. Im using your size as a point if reference when i decide to take the plunge.
I don't know what my hair texture is. but Imy hair is fine with an average/ low density
loc size is determined by the parting space/box the loc sits on. Hair density determines how skinny or fat your individual locs look. I have standard sized sisterlocks like most women with sisterlocks. Thanks to my finer hair they are skinnier. But there are many women whose looks look bigger than mine because they have more density. But our locs are technically the same size. Just something to consider

I pinned them to the row above when I wore my shower cap. other than that, I left them alone until they finally got with the program. lol
I know what will happen it from come a lose try when u first get your Retig trying braided 2 or 3 together and let them stay like that till a wk before u get your Ntx retig a sister loctician told me that I tried that and it help with my bk slippage
I wish I had this tip earlier. I don't have slippage issues now.

I just subscribed to you and have fine strands with low to medium density hair. I'm considering getting locs...which kind I'm not certain. How many hours was it for your retie?
my hair takes 3-4 hours to do.

Not immediately after. But when I do, I wear my hair in a ponytail or bun, and don’t take it out until after the sweat dries.
