WOW! Thank you for your tutorial. I like that you don't use harsh chemicals, and the Sharpie idea is fabulous. Thanks also for mentioning that they sell markers for this purpose in bronze. I can't wait to work on my neglected sink.
LOL at Step 9. bronze is hard to clean because if you go too hard you can remove the paint. I used a copper brush and while it helped plenty, it was removing the bronze paint and leaving the copper look underneath. Worst case scenario you can repaint the faucet with liquid bronze paint in a can by Rustoleum. It works ok.
@@roguephoenix I've only used the black sharpie before. But there are some darker looking bronze ones out there. if you roll a smooth piece of metal that’s chromed for example (rounded tool handle)and press it hard against the effected area it will break the heavy lime deposits then you can use the vinegar to finish it off

Vinegar neutralize baking soda on contact. Vinegar is acidic and dissolve minerals. You need it to sit and work fir prolonged time. Once you mixed vinegar and soda you started reaction of neutralization, so no it is not a good idea.
The deep cleaning paste caption should say, "1 teaspoon of salt, 1 cup of VINEGAR, and flour."
I can’t thank you enough, I followed your advice to the letter and my faucet looks brand new
Great, glad I could help!

No problem, and good luck with the project!
I did this and I took the bronze finish right off!
Same
🤣🤣🤣🤣wtf!! .
Helpful; I can use this method to get a little more life out of my faucets and they will look better. ❤
Glad I could help!
I like the bronze color marker idea👍 thank you : )
No problem hope it works out for you. 👌🏻👌🏻
Very helpful, thanks for the video!

Yeah bronze is tricky! No easy way to do it, really! The endless uses of a sharpie...
Going to try that especially on my shower fixtures
That sharpie Cracks me up.
Ha ha, whatever gets the job done.
Thank you
No problem.
Very helpful video!
Glad it helped!
will the sharpie not rub off? is there any other "paint pen" that one could use?
It shouldn't come off to easily! And yeah, you can use a bronze color marker!
@@fixitFlip isn't the bronze marker too light?

This worked great. Thanks!!

Can you use the same process on a showerhead and faucet in tub drain the same material
Yes!
Wonder if corn starch would work instead of flour?
I have never tried that!
Great idea!
Thank you!
Thank you. I’m going to try this
You're welcome!
Lol 😂... i the idea if using Sharpie! Great job!
Hey, it works. 🤷🏻♂️😂

That's a good little tip. I like that!
Is posible clear coat the faucet/shower heads that have this finish ?
I have never heard of that being done before. But that doesn't mean it's not possible.
My sink is horribly designed where all of the water pools up behind the faucet. I hate it so much because its in such a hard place to clean.
Yes, that is truly annoying.
Wouldn't lime away do the same thing?
You can use Lime-a-way on some chrome or stainless steel fixtures, but I wouldn't use it on brass or bronze. It can etch or discolor the metal.
If you dont care try submerging it in a 5 gallon bucket of high strenth vinegar overnight.
Yep, that will take the rust off some weight plates.
I wonder if using baking soda in the mix instead of flour would have worked better...?
Good question, I have never tried that!
3rd grade science experiment:volcano=mix vinegar and baking soda together....right?
@@Drewboo-p2y RIGHT lol
That will neutralize the acid rendering it ineffective. Corn starch is better for vinegar pastes
It’s too late brother. But good on you.
Always worth a shot right.
VINEGAR WITH ETCH MARBLE STONE GRANITE ETC. SO NOT A GOOD IDEA TO SOAK RIGHT ON TOP OF THE COUNTER.
Didn't cause any damage that I noticed.
@@fixitFlip YOU CAN LOOK IT UP BUT IT WILL ETCH IT AND DULL THE APPEARANCE AS WILL SCOURING PADS WILL DO DAMAGE AS WELL.
@@meltormee6771 Good to know.

Looks messy...you are better off with baking soda and vinager...works better
Thanks for watching.

Couldn't have been too seldomly used or it wouldn't have got so crusty
