Theres been a bunch of justinplays clanners busted for cheating over the last year but nothing done because of youtuber NDA. They're not allowed to acknowledge that theres cheaters in the game. The closest we got was a Phly vid who featured a cheater and he got a CaD a few days later and eventually deleted the vid. None of them want to mess with the monetary bottom line. 5.7-8.0 BR's are infested with cheaters right now in both Arcade and Realistic. Oddly enough there are more exploiters playing in arcade lately because it's 'harder' for them to be noticed cheating, and most players in arcade will dismiss blatant cheating just because it's arcade which is a nonsensical approach to the problem.
3.0-4.7 Still has a few exploiter accounts running around, mostly level 7-18's, chinese or russian names, but there are some level 70-100's who also have been chilling for a few weeks in the low BR's and cheating.

Another note is there are a lot of other clips of this player locking onto targets or aimbotting in some sense. While this replay might not be completely conclusive to some heres a better background. This player was originally in THC, then was booted and moved to AVR where he was booted for suspicious activity and then THC took him back and even their own squadron commander admits hes 100% cheating from picture confirmations of discord contacts that I have yet will not kick or do anything about it unless Gaijin does anything. This is going to be one of those drawn out situations where it will likely take Gaijin AGES to do anything about it. But this isn't a speculation, there are tons of clips of this player cheating 100%.
The THC squadron commander also wont kick him unless Gaijin bans him further proving the point that THC wont remain competitive since their own leadership would rather keep him fighting in squadron battles than kick a blatant cheater.
Lastly I will leave the clips below of him blatantly tracking players thru terrain.

The evidence isn't that compelling tbh
1:41 this play isn't exactly something a cheating player would do, he put himself in a position where he could have easily have been destroyed
3:40 "so you're telling me you could see him" - the guy could have been looking for targets in a certain direction and just so happened to be looking where a player was behind cover (maybe that's a common spot where players go to that davidj knows he should look at), he wasn't looking in that direction for as long as you made it out to be either, you paused the recording and made the footage slower too. Maybe if there was footage of him doing this maybe 3 times or move then yeah, i'd find it suspicious
4:12 "so he stares at this player here. That's interesting why would you know he's there" - he isn't necessarily looking at anyone, he could be turning his camera and turret
4:30 "he never range-found" - yeah some players have been playing for 1000s of hours and can estimate distances by heart
6:44 "why would you need to go to reddit if people thought you were cheating, mute them and move on, if you're not cheating then it wouldn't be a problem". - This is a pretty witch-hunty type of statement. No, if people are accusing you of something you didn't do, that is a problem. People have the right to defend themselves if there's even the slightest possibility of false punishment such as a ban or being kicked off a team

Here's a simple example, usernameless person
Use the Binoc camera visual: The binocs immediately snap center mass to the locked target. This happens multiple times on the replay, and the binocs are fixed and tracking.
This is not normal behavior in any game, especially for aiming at targets at distance beyond audio range.
When it comes to reviewing footage like this, most people overanalyze what's going on. If you just watch footage clearly, you'll eventually find something unnatural among natural.

One game I spawned in on the Berlin map in my AVRE, raised the barrel to full elevation without knowing if I had the range for it and lobbed its demolition charge in the direction of enemy spawn assuming it would be full of spawning enemy. I got lucky and got a kill. The player screamed blue murder and cheater. I got lucky on a hunch, that’s all. This channel comes very close to vigilantism which I’m uncomfortable with tbh.

guessing range without rangefinder does get easy after a while, especially for someone at a high level like this guy. And there is a couple of other parts that you can give him the benefit of the doubt for like aiming in the general direction of the asu because he was mostly just looking towards their spawn which was likely to have enemies in a way that looked like he was just making sure no enemies snuck up on him from it and just by coincidence there was an asu. Maybe he is a cheater and there are better replays showing more outrageous things but from this one Im not convinced.

Also, on the ranging point, as much as he was clearly ranging at times where he shouldn't even know that his target is there, visual ranging is 100% a thing. I'm a long range destroyer main and I basically never need to range for my first shot, even up to 1200m-1400m I can visually call it 99% of the time perfectly first time, but considering the skill he displayed and him clearly not being a long range main....yeah, dubious at best. I encounter players that kill me who act like this fairly regularly since I only have a huge number of low tier vehicles (highest ground vehicle lineup I have is 7.7) and I like 4.0 the most. Usually I have an encounter with one multiple times in a day, but then not again for a while. I've seen basically this *exact* behavior, and they're always in some random premium tank, like the Sherman III/IV, SAV 20.12.48, the German T-34, the German KV-2, the German KW I C, KV-1B, KV-1E (but less commonly for some reason), and sometimes (but rarely) something like the Italian Pz. IV G. It's really frustrating when they show up, since not only do they have a huge advantage against you and take annoying positions close to your spawn early due to their intelligence advantage, but if you do kill them they just take a B-line straight for you to revenge kill you, whether it be via a tank (often a backup of what they just used) or more commonly, a CAS aircraft. It doesn't even matter if you hide yourself well with trees; I'm fairly decent at hiding from CAS thanks to my slower playstyle, and yet they will still drop a 250kg bomb pinpointed on your tank through more vegetation than is in the diets of the vegans of the world united from 2km above you with an aircraft with NO bombsight. Usually, I get bombed by these people while they use the Bf 109 F-4, even more commonly the premium non-German one. Perhaps I do have a bit of skill issue since I don't have the most hours, but I usually average between 5 and 9 kills per game, and when these guys show up I'll get one or two if I'm lucky and we'll lose.
Oh, also, another interesting behavior: They rushed the enemy spawn. In my rulebook, that is a no-no not just morally, but it's just a horrible tactical move that early in a match. It's far too easy for your cannon fire or engine noise to alert an enemy and wind up in a situation where you're swarmed by tanks you can't frontally pen, or alternatively, with a tank with too long of a reload to deal with that quantity of vehicles. My preferred way of play on Flanders like that with a similar tank (in my case, the KV-1E) is to hang around next to a rock or in the buildings on B upon securing that position. This way, you can safely shoot the sides of people on A and C, while also being able to take pot shots at light tanks on their way to any capture point, and be able to hide in hard cover if things start shooting or your cannon gets damaged.

The binos definitely do give off cheating vibes, that was on a target twice almost perfectly and then positioning after that to secure the kill. As much as war thunder, the game creators, monitor people who cheat. They don’t hesitate to cheat themselves..
i’ve had cases where the red tanks will disappear off the map and they will reappear again in a good firing position to eliminate your tank.
I am totally convinced of this because this morning I was sitting in a position ready to ambush the tanks coming in my direction. I hear something coming up behind me, but I see on the map. It’s a blue tank and all of a sudden I start getting hit so I turned around and look and it’s a red tank and it fires and it destroys my tank. After he destroys my tank, he pulls up next to my tank and bumps it as if saying I got you. But that’s not the only incident that I’ve had. I’ve been destroyed by tanks that I don’t even see anywhere. It’s like where did the firing come from.
One other incident in a street by street urban battle. One of the enemy tanks was sitting in a courtyard. I never saw it on the map. And I’m driving down this little street. I think it was North Holland. And all of a sudden tank shoots me destroys my tank he was never on the map. Other issues I have there has been a few games that I’ve done really well. I think I destroyed maybe 4 to 5 tanks I think I’m doing pretty good. I think I even took out an airplane and all of a sudden a plane falls from the sky right on my position.
It’s almost as if the creators are not gonna let you achieve success so they make it really difficult for you to succeeded.
Especially if you’re doing fairly decent. And I have played in a battle rating of two where I have seen tanks on the opposite side that are tanks that should be battle rating of four.
I don’t know if you can explain some of this. I believe that the opposite side, the red side. Is using some kind of aiming device a bot, maybe software perhaps that is giving them advantage to achieve success.
Because some of the kills are a little impossible. Like I have been destroyed by a tank that had shot me through a brick wall. Or a rock. One other issue comes to mind. I was unloading on one tank I think I hit it maybe 10 times I got a critical hit and I couldn’t figure out why it just wasn’t getting destroyed. He turns around fires one shot and destroys my tank. Also, I have seen cases where the tip of the tank is just exposed and it gets hit and somehow it destroys my tank that’s just impossible. And other issues with the technology wasn’t available back in the 1940s is firing and hitting a target Going across a a hilly terrain or a bumpy road, and being able to fire one round and destroying my tank. That technology wasn’t available back in the 1940s. I was in the army and I drove a M1 A1 Abrams tank and we had the technology and the ability to lock onto a target at full speed firing a round and destroying the target.
Sorry for the long worded message. Please share some light on these concerns that I have. It would be wonderful to hear from somebody like yourself that sounds pretty knowledged in this game.

0:17 Very high KD - Skilled player / Cheater
1:20 No mause movement for 1min - Laziness 1 hand playing / Tinkering in the cheats
1:28 Binos at posible enemy location - Knows enemy routes / Doesnt make sense if he has X-ray

1:50 Looks back - Just looking around / Snaps exactly at the only enemy tank around while no visual, Xray on
1:55+ Looks around - Just looking around / Try to comouflage the previous blatant cheat
2:30 Looks at ASU - Looking at enemy spawn not ASU / Xray on
    3:07 Binos M4A2 - Maybe sound / Xray on
    4:13 Looks at T34 - Looking at B / Xray on
    4:32 No ranging - Skill to guess + C marker / Cheat
5:20 Charge at M4A2 - Agressive gameplay / Too agresive for such KD
5:28 Binos - Scouting / Looking for the t-34 Xray
5:35 Binos - Scouting / Looking for the t-34 Xray
5:40 Binos - Scouting / Looking for the t-34 Xray
6:08 Looking at airport - Checinkg around / Looking at AAA since the area between spawns is usualy empty, Xray
6:35 Shots at ASU - Bad luck / Missing 2 shots at 400m, lack of skill
7:49 Gets shot - Normal / The whole match has been overexposed, not using covers, not a very high level playstyle
8:18 Plane - Normal, nothing suspicious
If looking for cheats, you will find clues even of legit gameplay. But I think there are too many and obvious cases here. Moreover, the disparity between the stats and the skill shown is too big.
BTW, I just noticed this is 8 month old, thanks youtube, welp the analisis is done regardless of its usefulness.

Honestly, I wouldn’t say anything is 100% here. There are sus moments but until Gaijin actually looks in to him and decides there won’t be proof. Not unlikely though, he plays extremely reckless and aggressive but for his kill stats and his inability to aim at weak spots tell me that more than likely there is something up.

I think I remember that guy... Few days ago I was playing low BR and he was playing on the opposite team, I think he was driving American heavy tank T14... His RELOAD SPEED WAS soo fast, like 2 or 3 seconds, and he killed more than 15 tanks, close to 20 or even more, I can't remember now... But he never died... so if you ask me, That guy has to be a cheater!

In all honesty, this is not the most compelling evidence I've seen suggesting a player may be cheating. while the aiming at enemies fully behind cover does seem compelling... I would argue using one game and which hunting events that could be coincidences, doesn't seal the deal. I would also like to mention that a lot of seasoned vets in the game don't need to range find, they simply shoot using their intuition or can scope range using size of target for reference distance.

For me he is not cheating, there is not enough proof. 3:02 we can see the top of the M4 turret before it is hidden so obviously it is turning in that direction. We must not forget that there is a difference between the replay server and the client.

I was very curious to see how people cheat in WT, and I was hoping to see definite proof of that in this video, but am just not seeing it...
First (suspicious) thing he does is, points his view toward enemy spawn... off course there will be enemy vehicles there so that does not prove anything to me.
The scanning the horizon... in some instances I don't have to turn turret to scan my front cone of view particularly at start of match, just look at the monitor, wide screen monitors helps. (tip of antenna of vehicle in motion will give out position)
Then doesn't use range finder... many don't at lower br's, in many instances I know the maps and know the exact ranges and in other cases it is easier for me to look at the map see the scales and calculate that in my head. (I use range finder constantly at higher br's particularly if laser range finder is available)
He shoot at the asu57 while m4a1 is visible behind it, so takes asu out (closest threat) and then immediately fires at m4, why is that suspicious?, any player that pays attention will do that.
Also, was he playing with friend's in discord that maybe alerted him to presence of other tanks and ranges?
Is this guy using cheats? after watching this video, I could not answer that.
sorry, I don't see clear cut cheating here, coincidence at most, but not real proof to the point of focusing the anger of 3.4k subscribers towards a player based on skepticism and suspicion alone.
    tks.

One and only fishy thing here was that ranging on tank already behind cover, other is legit. Checking spawn for spawnkill, shooting without ranging (this takes skill, if you think it is impossible then skillissue), placing random binos to check common spots... all of that is legit.

I never liked ground battles thus stuck to air battles. Always felt like I was being targeted too much. Also, it sucks that I can't play with higher graphics as while the foliage is nice, gives an overwhelmingly disadvantage to you. Air battles are different. I can be more aware.

guessing range isnt hard, its just like ranging rockets without ccip: look at the tank and see how big or small it appears compared to the range lines. With high velocity shells you have more wiggle room. You can also get range by just looking at the minimap, add a squad marker, calculate distance with Pythagoras

Most vet players like myself look for commonly travelled spots more than just directly at players thru terrain. I almost guarantee if you look at your own replays you do see players "thru terrain" but you dont stick on them as replays aren't very smooth so youd normally just glide over them. Players like this pause over the player because they are looking directly at them with their software

This explains a lot about many of my through the bushes and trees deaths where I’m completely out of sight. That said I never range and admittedly I suck but even sucking and never ranging generally I only need one shot to get the right range down in my head off instinct. I basically don’t see the ranging lines it’s all just “oh that was a bit low I should elevate this much” and usually that works. Regardless this guy is despicable and obviously cheating.

2:30 no, he is not staring at the enemy vehicle, he is just looking in the direction of the enemy spawn which is a completely normal thing to do. if that "makes absolutely no sense" to you, something is wrong with you bro. this could be just a coincidence and it doesnt really prove anything
4:10 once again, he is just looking at the B point which got captured by the enemies just recently. there is a lot of enemies there, he just happens to look in the direction of one of them, thats a completely normal thing to do as well.
4:30 the fact that he doesnt range there doesnt prove anything really. the target is just 300 meters away which is an easy shot with the t34 ballistics, especially considering the fact that "he plays a lot of low tier" - something that you have said youreslf in the beggining of the video
3:30 thats really the only actual suspicious moment in the whole video, the rest of the stuff shown doesnt prove anything bro

I played this game for 1 week. I felt like everyone knew exactly where I was at all times. No matter what I did, no matter where I would hide. I even went off to the corner of the Map and hid and did not engage. People still found me and killed me almost immediately. Never lasted more than a minute. Looks like a really cool game too ..... Too bad. Everyone just says oh you just suck. I'm sorry.I'm an old man and I've been playing video games And combat simulators like this for As long as they've been around. I didn't suddenly start sucking when this game came out. Admittedly, I'm not the best but I have a great hand-eye coordination and I know how to employ military tactics. Classic ambush and bounding overwatch. The good old hammer and anville.

Not defending this play the slightest but as someone who's played war thunder for a long time alot of your argument is invalid first argument could be countered via "his not watching the flank due to the team mate not being shot at AND his looking towards the enemy left spawn" the range finder argument is just stupid id argue it's just instinct how knows because some maps I know the range does that make me cheating if I don't use range finders? No it doesn't and I'm only up to 4:50

  • @niojandonker625

im a player that has been playing for thousands of hours, i dont think he is cheating personally, the snapping on people looks like experience to me in this particular one, the aiming does not look ai in any way, if he knew that asu at the beginning was there he would have been more paranoid and he would not push almost ten targets if he hadd terrain or wall hacks, the ranging is something a lot of players do automaticly so that is alright, 800 meters is not that far either

  • @Goatfer

Assuming someone who has played since 2014 can't free hand the range is not a good take. Staring at people through the ground is extremely sus. Especially when he doesn't even try to aim binocs down to look over the hills.

You can free hand the range, sure - but nobody rangefinds to 800m, then sets it back to 750m, on a target exactly 0.76km away, without cheating.
If you can't see that, you're not experienced enough to talk on this.
