So sad to read today about the deaths of both Paul Cotton and Rusty Young in 2021. I'm just blown away. Saw "Poco" as a teen in the 1973 plus or minus one year. (Still in my vinyl collection those I bought back then, pre 1980 good pressings.) It was at University of New Hampshire. Ill need to see who else in the band we've lost. RIP Rusty - Paul, Thank You. You'll live on on You Tube. We can be grateful for that.

Also saw Bruce there right after "Greetings fm Asbury Pk" But Rusty?? He seemed so youg and full of life. But nonne of us lasts forever. Huh? My wife has taken off fr theChes Bay for the year. wont see her for the resto of the year. Im Lonely s hell, so thisgroup oof tunes helps. Rusty looks odd, out front. But I cant get used to Poco without Tim B. Schmit and Richie. Rusty makes it look so doggone easy. AND IT AINT!

One of the finest groups to ever come along! I've been a fan since i first heard 'Pickin Up the Pieces' back in 69' One of the most underrated groups ever! Poco is like a Rocky always coming back for more, they just didn't achieve the stardom they richly deserved! I finally got to see them in Houston in 79' and they blew us away doing the Legend LP!! Many have come and gone in the group, we know who they are, but i have to say, to me, it was always Paul Cotton and Rusty Young who held steadfast to Poco, they were Poco!. I was so sad to hear of their passing in 2021 and so close together, It was unreal! . All true Poco fans like myself who know their history, their songs and their journey, know their will never be a Poco with their passing and its a crying shame the HOL never inducted them, it's their loss! We fans know they will always have a place in our hearts!! RIP Paul and Rusty!
Long Live The Legend That Is Poco!!

My favorite celebrity encounter happened on April 4, 1983, when Poco played Portland, Oregon's Euphoria Tavern. Shortly before the show was to start, I headed to the men's room to get rid of a beer. I ended up at a urinal next to singer/songwriter/guitarist Rusty Young, and got to thank him for his brilliant pedal steel guitar on Poco's cover of Steely Dan's first single "Dallas." He had a good laugh when I told him I bought the 1976 album "Head Over Heels" just so I could play "Dallas" whenever I wanted. R.I.P. Rusty and Paul.

      The Dance
      Crazy Love
      Spellbound
      Boomerang
      Little Darlin'
      Legend
      While We're Still Young
      Footsteps Of A Fool
      A Fool's Paradise
      Made Of Stone
      Everlasting Kind
      Glorybound
Blue And Gray (Was Ken Burns not aware of this song?)
      Widowmaker
      The Land Of Glory
      Ghost Town
      Shoot For The Moon
      Cry No More
      When Hearts Collide
      Call It Love
Save A Corner Of Your Heart
      What Do People Know
      Who Else
      Rough Edges
      One Tear At A Time

@@JeffMcCalib It's excellent, for sure. And he's not bad with a little Japanese at the start of the video. As much as I hated seeing the bassists leave for to the Eagles, it forced Rusty to step out front more as a vocalist. That ended up being good for Poco--and for Poco fans. So many of their great songs (and not just the singles) feature him on lead vocals. "Rough Edges" here is a good example.

No finer pedal steel player than Rusty Young. First time I saw Poco was at the Santa Monica Civic back in '72, where Rusty laid on his back and played the pedal steel upside-down above him. Gosh, I sure miss him. The last time I saw Poco was at the Golden Nugget in Vegas. After the show I got to chat with Rusty and the boys and had them autograph their live album recorded at Big Sky Montana, great album with many new songs and, of course, the Rabbit Joke following an excellent rendition of On The Way Home. I miss Timothy B. Schmidt playing bass. Oh well, poco's loss is The Eagles' gain. All the best, Douglas W. Motley, Crestline, CA.

I saw Poco in the late 1970s with Young and Cotton and I believe the bassist and drummer were England. They had released Legend which got more attention that most of their other albums. I think one of the problems was that the sun was setting on the the seventies country rock scene and that the ship had already sailed that type of music. Still, I had been a fan during their various personal changes but the stars were never aligned for Poco as far as really making a breakthrough.

They sound fantastic! I'm not familiar with the line-up, for sure! Definitely not my "Tim Smith", but no complaints at all. And the Bottom Line! Can't remember half the great musicians I'd seen there (and won't list the one's I CAN think of) but that was my #1 venue in NYC. Walking distance from my Pop's digs in the Village. By '92, I couldn't afford the drive into the city, parking (if I had to) and tickets. Then the doors shut, just like CBGB's, and all the good stages. Memories...
