I've read alot of the Fear Street books. If anyone is interested in reading them, they are a blast of of glorious 90's cheese. Good, fun cheese. Some of the best imo are: "The Halloween Party" (Payback served very cold), "Switched", (Real emotional depth. No really. Plus great twist), "The Wrong Number" (Remember land lines?), "One Evil Summer" (Stine cranks the insanity up to 11) and "The New Boy" (Stolen prom money and murder). I love great twists and there are a ton of them on Fear Street.
What about “Rich girl” spoiler ahead …… where two girls find a bag of money, one of the girls tells her boyfriend then “ kills” him, then the friend who’s innocent slowly goes insane and it was all a plot by the friend ( she’s a terrible friend) and her boyfriend who’s not dead to keep the money for themselves and the money turns out to be counterfeit anyway,I remember I laughed so hard at the twist, they absolutely deserved it, no deaths in this one just a fake death.
Thank you for sharing your struggle with anxiety! I also have days where it creeps up on me, and reading is one of my escapes. I'm so glad to see that you have ways to cope, heal, and move forward! Another fabulous video as always!

You have definitely got me into wanting to read amd collect the fear street books I did buy the first 4 book collection that you have can't wait to read it. Got your book it is on my tbr I am just reading like 8 books right now. Keep up the great work you definitely inspire me to read more. Thanks for that.
Fun idea! I'm not even sure if I've read them all...been slowly collecting them for years. Who Killed the Homecoming Queen was my first one. I was known as the weird girl in elementary who devoured Fear Street, lol. I think it kind of scared people XD I remember The Overnight being fun!

This is such an awesome V-log Cam- I'm looking forward to the Fear Street movies. I loved the Fear Street series as an 80's kid!!. I really wish I was on the patreon now as those chapters sound really exciting.
I mean...QUALITY entertainment here. Enjoying this with a coffee early in the morning. I still have at my parents a Bart Simpson alarm clock that it woke me up with a rock/metal guitar song and nearly gave me a heartattack but I loved it. I am counting the days for the Fear Street movies. I have entered those days in my calendar. Loved this vlog and also yay for writing so much. I am excited about the cover reveal!
Love those Dario Argento posters behind you! Finished the Fear Street trilogy on Netflix tonight and made me want to revisit those books. Glad I found your channel! I was in middle school in the early '90s and those batch of books were everything at the time (though I did love Christopher Pike more). I probably stopped reading R.L. Stein around 1995 and Pike around 1996, but I have fond memories of both!
My kids are at the perfect ages to read Fear Street. Im about to get them a few books to start. I could also reread them. It would be great mandatory family time lol. 10 and 12 and thats when I read so many fear street books and Christopher Pike books.
These videos really make me want to dive into Fear Street, though I have other things planned to read. Side note: love that you have a poster for Deep Red next to your bed. I'm envious.
Nice vlog. I love hearing your reviews of R.L. Stine books, I can almost feel your admiration through the screen. Congratulation for your book! Thank you for sharing and have a nice readathon
There was a spin-off series for tweens called “Ghosts of Fear Street “ the protagonists were younger in middle school and those I think went the more supernatural route less deaths in “Ghosts of Fear Street “ , “Goosebumps “ also by R.L. Stine also went the supernatural route. I guess in retrospect the supernatural route would be less scary for younger kids who are old enough to know that ghosts and other supernatural elements aren’t real, and it’s just good fun, while Fear Street went the more realistic route of straight up Murders and having characters be murderers. The 90s was big on the teen horror front you had R.L. Stine with the “Fear Street “ books Christopher Pike, Diane Hoh ,Caroline B Cooney, and Lois Duncan, to name a few those are the ones I read ,there’s probably more.
All great books! Check out my YA horror bookshelf tours. I show off a bunch of those kinds of books and you may see some you remember from your childhood. :-)
1. I have seen your Nickelodeon alarm clock in previous videos, but gosh darn it, it is so cool to see it extra close up...and YOU ACTUALLY PRESSED THE BUTTON TO PLAY SOUND! Ah!!! So amazing! I always wanted one as a kid, but never got one 😭😂 I did get a cool Rugrats alarm clock, but still wish I had that one too! 2. Amazing intro and production quality throughout this vlog. Your video and editing quality blows me away. Visually, this video was extremely pleasing and had a lovely spooky vibe to it 👻🎃🎉 3. What an epic picnic you guys had! Seemed like a true feast and an awesome time! 4. I have got to read Fear Street (it is terrible that I haven't, I know!) I have a few, and I plan to dig in soon! Unfortunately, I didn't read much as a kid so I'm trying to catch up on everything now, which is difficult. I love cheesy stuff, so it seems nostalgic and fun and like it would be right up my alley. Wonderful video as always, Cameron. Haha, I wish you could have seen my huge smile when you pressed the alarm button 🤣😁 My face felt like it was gonna break 😆
I hope you can get an alarm clock for yourself, Kelsi! I think it’s a must have for you. 😁 Thank you so much for the kind words about my videos. These vlogs are a challenge to edit because the lighting changes so much, and I want them to look consistent. But it’s a fun challenge 😎 I think you’ll love Fear Street! They seen like they would totally be your bag.
@@LibraryMacabre I've checked ebay a few times over the years. They're a bit expensive! But maybe one day I'll find one for an okay price! That would be flipping awesome. I'm glad I still have my Rugrats alarm clock at least, haha. The lighting never looks bad in your vlogs. You definitely seem to have risen to the lighting-balancing challenge. I am not good at lighting. I always struggle with that while filming! Can't wait to dig into Fear Street! Definitely will be up my alley I'm thinking. Take care
Leaning backwards over the couch--my hypermobility felt that. 😅 As a kid, I remember reading Goosebumps while living next to a really old cemetery out in the country. The library in town never had the first Fear Street book--always checked out. I'll have to pick them up!
Oh Love this one! thank you Cameron for featuring Fear street my ever fave! i just finished reading the 99 Fear Street and now finishing Missing, which I highly recommend ! 🙂
Such a beautiful and relaxing video, Cameron... A lot of variety... Indoors, outdoors, different books.... The park looks amazing. I must say, that shot where you are approaching the lake with the spooky music in the background, gave me a lot of Friday the 13th vibes! I can't wait to read your new book when it comes out. All the best to you, my friend.
I'm even excited for these movies and I am a wimp when it comes to horror films. Should be fun. 😅 Great vlog, Cameron. Looking forward to Autumncrow High!
Wow, as I'm watching this you started talking about exactly what I'm going through. My anxiety has been off the charts lately too. I'm literally trying to figure out a mantra or meditation or something to bring my anxiety down (to go to a job I hate) when you mentioned thats what you do. Any suggestions?? Anyway, great blog, I absolutely love these!!
I’m so sorry to hear that. :( I will sit and meditate for about a half hour or as long as it takes. I say thank you aloud for all the good things I have, and say affirmations, wherever I’m feeling each day. I’ve been doing one every morning and one at night, sometimes throughout the day and it really helps me. I’ve actually noticed a huge influx in really positive things happening too. :)
1:10 The stare just kills me hahaha, I love the intensity! lol I also love the alarm. Haha, it’s so wicked! I just binged through The New Girl, The Surprise Party and another one from Fear Street recently. It was so fun and just good nostalgic feels all around. Also, can I just say that I like your reading voice? Yes?! Great! Thanks for another fantastic vid! ☺️
I'm really excited for the Fear Street movies, but part of me knows that it'll probably be months before I actually watch them after release. I have such a hard time starting new movies and shows. Maybe I'll have enough will power to watch them as soon as they come out! I've been wanting to re-read my Fear Street books too! Your video made me want to get to it even more!
Your picnic excursion gave me a backstory idea for my horror story! Amazing! Your reading vlogs are life, please do more, your the best RUclipsr and currently my favourite RUclipsr. Keep up the good work and are the Fear Street books for only younger people, same with goosebumps, are they only for kids? I want to start reading them and even though I’m almost thirteen i feel like I’m too old for goosebumps and ill get made fun of if i read them. You're my inspiration, you are great! :) And I hope your anxiety gets better. I just got to the bit where you said your anxiety topped the charts (in my words) and i really hope your feeling better. :)
Aww, thank you! I appreciate that 😁 Fear Street is aimed at older teens, so I would say go for it! If anyone gives you a hard time for reading them, they don’t know what they’re missing. And they’re also jerks.
Read whatever you want, don't let other people tell you what you can or can't read. I'm 36 years old, I read Goosebumps and Fear Street when I was younger, and I'm reading them again while being 36. Reading should be fun, so really read what you want. 😊
9:38 is very early in the morning for me 🤣 I’m usually not up until 11am 🙈🤣 I loved this reading vlog so much. I have never read any of the Fear Street books but I really need to!
Great video makes me want to read the fear street books never have I am a bit older but I have been starting to read the young teen and even middle grade spooky books lately really enjoying them thanks to you and your videos
Having skimmed through those reprints, it is weird how they kept most of the outdated stuff the same (well the 2000's reprints updated it) but small things get changed even though it's likely to make people more confused. Missing changed a CD player a stereo but kept Walkman. I feel like the latter is more likely to confusing modern people lol. Otherwise the changes are for fixing problematic things, which I'm fine with.
This was fun to watch! I believe The Surprise Party was (I believe) the first Fear Street book I read years ago, and I remember enjoying it. I recently read the Wrong Number and did not like it that much, lol. It was so cheesy and unrealistic. I suppose all of these books require some suspension of disbelief to enjoy them though.
Sooooo great!!! You just keep bringing it!!! Your creativity/fabulousness puts a smile to my face 😀!!! Keep being magnificent, have a grand week and until next time, super Mr. Cameron!!!!! :D
I've been binging some of your Fear Street videos lately and hearing you say you also grew up in a small Ohio town, did you go to Kings Island for Fear Fest and go through the Fear Street haunted house back in the day? I remember so vividly that Corky was in one room in a bloody cheerleading costume and it was incredible. And then my Auntie said my name and all the Fears started moaning my name and I bolted out and through all the clowns just busting ass past Flight of Fear and the swings to get away and one of the guys chased me a good 50 yards out of that haunted house.
There was a Fear Street haunted house at King’s Island??? I love Kings Island and have been to Fear Fest a dozen times, but I never knew about a Fear Street haunt! This is crazy!
@@LibraryMacabre It was technically Fear Street Nights but the house itself was basically like 99 Fear Street and then scenes from a couple of the books. Corky, the bus crash cemetery scene, that’s all I really remember. I believe it was 2004/2005, lining up with the FSN release. It was really cool. It was really cool and I think about it every year. I would love to find some pictures of it but there’s nothing more than a footnote on it on the website.

Thank you! 😃 The ebook should be available for pre-order. Sadly, Amazon doesn’t allow preorders on paperbacks published through them though. It’s weird 🤔
Aw Cameron, I'm sorry to hear about the anxiety. Sending warm/calming vibes out to you. Good to hear you take moments to mediate. When daily stresses get me all wound up I find the deep breath in and long breath out technique super effective. Also Qi-gong moves help me too. But ANYWAY . . . this is a great reading vlog (and amazing looking park!). I have "The Beginning" Fear Street compilation and look forward to diving in. Curious: Is the character in the original book name Cody? Or Cory? In the bind up his name is Cory.
Funny enough, I have some of the books I believe you're missing lol well, my mother does. I been borrowing them. I want to buy the new edition with all 4!
I have almost all of them now! My original series is complete. I just need one Seniors book and one Fear Street Nights book, then I’ll have everything. :)
@@LibraryMacabre I'm getting copies lol trying to anyway. I found one of my other short rare books. I need to grab a copy of that one too bc there's a story that really give me the creeps! 😱
Hey Cam, I apologize earlier about the spoiler, I will keep that in mind in future comments. By the way, I loved The Surprise Party out of the four the Best, I thought it was the creepiest in my opinion. The next best of my likes was The New Girl and Missing. I didn't like The Overnight too well, but it was ok.
I remember Fear Street, it wasn’t my favourite series but I read it and I like reading the snarks people have done about them. I’m not sure why anyone would move to ShadySide to begin with, their population sign should say “ Welcome to ShadySide ,you may or not survive, but I don’t bet on it”
Cameron Chaney - LibraryMacabre Would you please make a video of your Babysitters Club Book Collection? I've heard you talk about it so much & I'd love to see it! I was also wondering if you could include in the video the following things: Where you get most of your BabySitters Club books? What thrift stores you've had the most success at finding them at? If you've had any luck at garage sales finding them? Your ULTIMATE favorite BabySitters Club books in order from top 10 What websites you recommend buying them off of Which ones were the hardest to find? & which ones weren't? How long did it take for them to arrive? Where you recommend buying them from? Where you had the most success buying them from? I LOVE YOUR BOOK TOURS! Breanna June 9/21 :) Please reply with a video about your BSC books, & the things I'd mentioned above to be included! :) Thank you Cameron!! 11:15am June 9/21
Hey Breanna. I’m not a Baby-Sitters Club expert by any means and have only read the first book so far, so I’m not knowledgeable enough to make a video like that just yet. I will share a collection video once my collection is a little bit bigger though! 🙂
Though I can appreciate a good plot, for me a spooky atmosphere is what I'm looking for most in a horror/mystery story. "The New Girl" has plenty of those late night ominous creepy scenes--thus, predictably, I really enjoyed that book, regardless of whatever shortcomings might have been present. I agree that "The Surprise Party" was slower & generally much less scary feeling overall. I thought that it had some "atmosphere potential" when the Fear Street Woods were introduced, but unfortunately the woods scene was kind of brief and tame as far as the scares go. I also am going through them in order this year, with other books squeezed between, of course (hopefully the newest Cameron Chaney before long).
hello ! im currently reading goosebumps and this series i love your channel....can you read these books in whatever way an the ones with numbers in the title obviously are sequels but despite those can u read the others in whatever way?
I wonder if Fear Street series is stand-alone? Can I just read any title or do I have to read from the first book onwards? I want to sample reading them but I do not want spoiler if I read random titles in the series.
You can start anywhere in the series. You definitely don’t have to start at the beginning. There are trilogies throughout the series though, and I would recommend starting at the beginning of those. As for the normal books, you can start pretty much anywhere. :)
love the video !!! i do want to read ALL the R.L Stine but i don't really know how. can anybody pleaseee tell me if there is any order to read the bookd , or if i just can read them however i want?
Have you read books by Ed and Lorraine Warren..... Really horror and based on true stories..... I don't know, it is real but I saw a blog in google that says, The warrens are gifted and can see ghosts.. There are many books and movies about their weird case files. The mystery of Annabelle, the toy, was one of them.. What do you think... Is that real?????
I've read alot of the Fear Street books. If anyone is interested in reading them, they are a blast of of glorious 90's cheese. Good, fun cheese. where two girls find a bag of money, one of the girls tells her boyfriend then “ kills” him, then the friend who’s innocent slowly goes insane and it was all a plot by the friend ( she’s a terrible friend) and her boyfriend who’s not dead to keep the money for themselves and the money turns out to be counterfeit anyway,I remember I laughed so hard at the twist, they absolutely deserved it, no deaths in this one just a fake death.

Love your reading vlogs! The readings are so nice and the whole tone is relaxing and lovely to watch. ☺️
Thank you 😊😊
Such a beautiful and relaxing video, Cameron...
It really reminded me of Friday the 13th too! Thanks so much for watching 😁
I'm even excited for these movies and I am a wimp when it comes to horror films. Should be fun. 😅
Great vlog, Cameron. Looking forward to Autumncrow High!
Thanks so much, Rick!
@@LibraryMacabre thank you! I hope you continue to feel better😁
You make me smile. The park really had some good vibes to it. Nice and green. I'm from Phoenix where every thing is mostly brown. Enjoyed the vlog. 👍👻
Thank you, Diane!
Thank you, Tatum! I’m glad you liked it, and I’m excited to read more! 👻
This was enjoyable to watch! Cant wait for the reviews
I love fear street! I can't wait for the films.
I’ll be there day one! As for other movies and shows, I’m the same way. It takes me forever to get to them.
Your picnic excursion gave me a backstory idea for my horror story! Amazing! Your reading vlogs are life, please do more, your the best RUclipsr
and currently my favourite RUclipsr.
I’d love to sleep to 11 myself 😂 Thank you! I definitely recommend reading some. Silent Night is my fave!
Great video makes me want to read the fear street books never have I am a bit older but I have been starting to read the young teen and even middle grade spooky books lately really enjoying them thanks to you and your videos
I’m glad to hear that! I hope you enjoy Fear Street if you pick any up. There are many places to start. :)
An honor to be part of your videos with my music!
this is such an awesome video, I'll be ordering your book as soon as possible!
Thank you!! ☺️
Love the channel and loving this vlog! Keep up the good work.
Thank you!! 🙏
Weird that they’d change the CD player bit 🤔 Maybe they had different people updating them? It seems really uneven.
Haha Yeah, that’s kind of what I love about them, how cheesy they are. But they’re fun and make me smile, so that’s what counts :)
Listen I could listen to your voice for hours 😭 I’m excited for this
Thank you, Rach! 🙏
@@LibraryMacabre you're welcome! ☺
Hey Cameron, have you read all the Sherlock Holmes classics??
I haven’t read them all, but I’ve read a few. :)
Sooooo great!!! You just keep bringing it!!! Your creativity/fabulousness puts a smile to my face 😀!!! Keep being magnificent, have a grand week and until next time, super Mr. Cameron!!!!! :D
Thanks so much, Nicholas! 🙌
Loved the vlog and the Nickelodeon alarm is awesome ☠️👻🖤
Thank you!! 😁
Hey Cameron....Just here to Ask that when are we getting a new book shopping vlog?...Loved your vid BTW.
Very soon. 😎
Loved the vlog.

I wish I could give this video more than one upvote. It was everything. I am looking forward to more Fear Street reading vlogs. Will Autumncrow High have a pre-order option?
Thank you! Breathing definitely helps. 😪 His name is Cory, I think I accidentally said Cody. Haha Enjoy all the Fear Street! 👻
The scariest part of the whole video is the Mr clean porta-potty
No worries, Jonathan! I’m reading The Overnight now. So far, so good, but I’m not too far in. :)
I remember Fear Street, it wasn’t my favourite series but I read it and I like reading the snarks people have done about them. I’m not sure why anyone would move to ShadySide to begin with, their population sign should say “ Welcome to ShadySide ,you may or not survive, but I don’t bet on it”
Currently reading the first evil ❤
Hope you enjoy!

Would you please make a video of your Babysitters Club Book Collection? I've heard you talk about it so much & I'd love to see it!
I was also wondering if you could include in the video the following things:
Where you get most of your BabySitters Club books?
What thrift stores you've had the most success at finding them at?
If you've had any luck at garage sales finding them?
Your ULTIMATE favorite BabySitters Club books in order from top 10
What websites you recommend buying them off of
Which ones were the hardest to find? & which ones weren't?
How long did it take for them to arrive?
Where you recommend buying them from?
Where you had the most success buying them from?
I LOVE YOUR BOOK TOURS!

Please reply with a video about your BSC books, & the things I'd mentioned above to be included! :)
Thank you Cameron!!

Hey Breanna. I’m not a Baby-Sitters Club expert by any means and have only read the first book so far, so I’m not knowledgeable enough to make a video like that just yet. I will share a collection video once my collection is a little bit bigger though! 🙂
Awesome!! ☺️😍👍
Love your collection! I have 2 extra original copies of Missing in decent shape. I’d like to send you one if you have a PO Box or something.
Thank you so much!! I would love to take one off your hands. You can email me at bookmovieguy@gmail.com. 😁
I love your vlogs❤❤
Thank you ☺️
I used to read fear street when I was a teen/kid.
Very nice vlog!
Thank you! :)
These movies a look good
Love your vlog!!!! What Is the poster with the haunted house from that’s in your background at the beginning of the video?????
That’s the Goosebumps: Welcome to Dead House artwork 😁
@@LibraryMacabre thank you!!!
Atmosphere is very important to me as well. The New Girl was chocked full of it 👻 Thank you! Except a new book from me this fall 🍂 🎃
It's a beautiful park.
i will try reading it
Hope you enjoy it!
You should do an audiobook chanel of fear street
His name is actually Cory Banks
hello ! im currently reading goosebumps and this series i love your channel....can you read these books in whatever way an the ones with numbers in the title obviously are sequels but despite those can u read the others in whatever way?
I wonder if Fear Street series is stand-alone? Can I just read any title or do I have to read from the first book onwards? I want to sample reading them but I do not want spoiler if I read random titles in the series.
You can start anywhere in the series. You definitely don’t have to start at the beginning. There are trilogies throughout the series though, and I would recommend starting at the beginning of those. As for the normal books, you can start pretty much anywhere. :)
@@LibraryMacabre Thanks so much, Cameron. 💖
Niceeeeee
love the video !!!
i do want to read ALL the R.L Stine but i don't really know how.
can anybody pleaseee tell me if there is any order to read the bookd , or if i just can read them however i want?
Hey have a quick question. Have you read The Perfect Date?
I didn't like the way The New Girl started, at least from chapter one, but I thought it ended pretty well.
They update the Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew books in case they offend the book police of today and I hate it!
They’ve been updating the books since the 50s though haha
Ever thought about having a discord channel where you could have a read along and discussion on each book?
It’s something to look into! I’m strapped for time as it is, so probably not soon, but I’ll keep it in mind for the future. 😎
My cat says Hi
Hi! 😂
is it necessary to read fear street in order?
Not at all, I’m just being a nerd and reading them in release order. Haha
I’m 32 and I didn’t know what the hell “dittoing” meant, lol.
😂
Have you read books by Ed and Lorraine Warren.....
Really horror and based on true stories.....
I don't know, it is real but I saw a blog in google that says, The warrens are gifted and can see ghosts..
There are many books and movies about their weird case files.
The mystery of Annabelle, the toy, was one of them..
What do you think...
Is that real?????
I haven’t read any of their books, but I’ve seen almost all the movies based off their cases. They have an interesting life story too!
