  • The number one issue is a big one! You can't order a new manual Hellcat from the factory these days so perhaps you've been thinking about buying a low mileage used Hellcat. Watch this video to see what you need to look out for in the earlier model year like 2015 and 2016 Hellcats, especially when looking at low mileage examples.
Low mileage Hellcats might have expired warranties but not enough miles on them to have uncovered issues with key components on the Hellcat. Earlier year Hellcats also had some pretty serious issues reported by owners and if they haven't already been addressed, it could leave your wallet on the hook for costly repairs. I'll cover a handful of the more prevalent issues that I've read about or personally experienced.

I would never buy a used hellcat unless I knew the owner. Most people swing snd rag these cars. It is what it is

How much is it? Check also if the supercharger has been replaced already. Mine started making the bearing noise at about that mileage.

Don’t do it bro I traded my 2019 scat for a 2018 hellcat charger and even tho I love my car and it’s amazing I got screwed over on the value of the hellcat cause the dealership sold me a stolen hellcat that was theft recovered but never salvaged even though it’s a clean title any dealership offers me salvaged trade in price

Which year do you recommend for purchasing a used manual hellcat?

The later the better but I think the SC issues were sorted out by the 2017 MY so I'd start there. An early run could be fine also if the SC is a later unit or has been swapped with a later unit. I'll dig into that some more and do a video on it later.

@Father kamp Thanks for the tip! What did they do in 2018 to increase reliability over the 2017 models?

    What about a 2016 with 2.8k miles

That's definitely one you want to check out. I'd bet it hasn't had the supercharger replaced yet and there's a high chance it's going to need it done in maybe 10K miles. So just budget that into the cost of the car. You can check my video on the bearings to see different cost options if it happens. Is it a manual?

Nah I think that's good. It's only like 5K a year. Congrats on the cat!
