Literally just met him and his wife last night. I was their server at the restaurant I work at and they were both so lovely. I get they are just 2 human beings out to dinner on a Saturday night but I was still a bit starstruck and they were both very down to earth and friendly. Very cool experience
Michael O'Keefe also starred in "Split Image" about this time... epic movie and he was fantastic. Years later I was caught up by his many performances on the Law & Order series... he grew as a very impressive actor.
O’Keefe was one of the best athletes I’ve seen in any movies . Basketball , golf or baseball he looked natural in doing it on screen . Not like most actors .
Fun fact: Michael O’Keefe was really an amazing golfer before he had trouble with his back…. Anyone that is an avid golfer can tell he has a swing that is PGA level
I love how Mr. Peters had already "booked" the photographer! When she declined, I heard he called her a "prude" and screamed that she would no longer benefit from his "career advice".
His most respected role (Oscar nominee?) was as Robert Duvall's son in The Great Santini (1980). He did have to cut his hair for the part after Caddyshack (1980).
In a recent interview, he said he did ‘Caddyshack’ after ‘The Great Santini.’ And he’s correct as the latter was released in 1979, meaning he probably filmed it in 1978, while ‘Caddyshack’ would have been filmed a year later.
You can tell they switched things up right before. It starts off being a story about the caddy’s - then, it’s all over the place trying to cram in as many funny scenes as possible with the stars they had. I’m in the minority, I don’t think “Caddyshack” was that good. Especially the weird thing with Danny and his Irish gf. Ramis definitely improved as a director after this. But again, you can tell they pretty much just winged it as they went along.

Such a great movie of silliness but comedy genius.
Michael O'Keefe has had a decent career... steady work in film and TV. One of the nice guys with talent. NOONAN MISS!
He was great on "Roseanne"

Such a classic, loved Judge Smails in the movie. The last putt should not have counted! Lol.

"Gunga lagunga" - Dalai Lama
"So I got that going for me." - Carl Spackler
Michael O'Keefe made a B rated movie in my hometown in Upstate NY IN 1989
O'Keefe was in 2 Jack Nicholson movies, IRONWEED and THE PLEDGE.
Reporter needed to do some homework.
I love how Mr. Peters had already "booked" the photographer! When she declined, I heard he called her a "prude" and screamed that she would no longer benefit from his "career advice".
He was awesome as the dad in The Hot Chick too
First time I saw Michael O'Keefe was in an episode of MASH...must of been right before Caddy Shack.

Doug Kenney RIP
I loved him in this movie and also when he played in Roseanne. He just always seemed like a nice guy and not overtaken by Holly weird.
“You ain’t getting no Coke”
Not mentioned . . . another perhaps-casualty? of the crazy drug & alcohol scene during Animal House / Caddyshack -- Sarah Holcomb.
He was in MASH

This bald guy is belting questions out like a tweaker.

It's funny the Yahoo guy asks O'Keefe about drug use on the movie when he's obviously high doing this inteview lol
