It really was a great idea to just make the story mode nothing but cutscenes, so the characters don't have to come up with excuses to have fights every few minutes and they can actually interact naturally like this.
@@Terithian Guilty Gear is truly something else. Aside from being a badass fighting game with badass music, it's a story Daisuke wanted to tell since its conception. The story for it goes beyond the average fighting game to be something special.

Sol teaching a moral lesson with his fists is the spiritual advancement I've been waiting for. What's even better is the writing that lead up to it with Sin talking about how he was beat down by Sol.

It seems like they were going for tone translation(translating the approximate meaning in the right tone instead of just translating the lines) which is generally better for translation, even if it sounds odd when certain words are completely different.
