This race had it all: Tony Stewart winning after missing the Chase, Jimmie Johnson gaining more points to help him win his title, Dale Jr. gambling by staying out to finish 3rd, Matt Kenseth having a consistent run, Jeff Gordon rebounding from a spin to get 6th, Denny recovering from a lap down to get 8th, Jeff Burton falling behind after a late race pit stop, Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch struggling with ill handling cars, and Kasey Kahne and Mark Martin getting involved in wrecks that take them both out of the title race. Also non-Chasers Biffle comes home 5th, Edwards 7th, Nemechek 9th, and asshole Robby Gordon coming home 10th after throwing out roll bar padding on track ruining Burton’s race. Love Atlanta!!! This track is so much fun to slip and slide around while it chews up the Goodyear tires.
My goodness., been waiting for someone to upload this for YEARS! In first grade when I saw this, it was one of the first I ever saw!
This same race changed my life forever. Never new speed could feel so good.
I think the one person who dislike the video is Jeff Burton, and I wouldn't blame him, because Robby Gordon screwed him over by throwing that rollbar pad out. Then again, Gordon himself may be the one disliking it, for being called out!
And thus began the Bass pro Shops and Tony Stewart relationship and later they would sponsor the 14 car.
So this is the race with the Robby Gordon roll bar incident. I figured it was a different race though. Good run for the 7 though.
I was at this race. Wish Nascar was still racing like this. When Dale Earnhardt raced, no stage points, no chase, and no playoffs. They won championships, not chases. 😡
woooo Classic races I don't remember anything about!!!
+KingCuervo88 That's about every race I have after 2001. And I watched them when I recorded them!

I don't think so.

0:25 I find it interesting how they were using the NBC Sports graphics for the sports update, yet all 6 seasons of NASCAR on TNT/NBC from 2001-2006 used Turner Sports graphics.
3:05:50 Replay of Robby Gordon.
Allen was right about one of the chase teams getting 3 straight top 3 finishes. Jimmie Johnson finished 2nd in 3 straight races and could've won all 3 to put the championship away at Phoenix.
Guys, I've got the 06 Ford 400. I'll see what I can do.
