Forza Horizon is one of my favorite racing games series of all time. Infact I'd say it took the title away from Need For Speed until NFS Heat did a much better job of bringing the series back. However Forza Horizon 4 is a game that many have uninstalled and practically forgot about .- making the series community very on/off. Forza Horizon 2 and Forza Horizon 3 in review had a very dedicated fan base that seems to be missing from the latest title after release. Yeah, the version in the game sounded pretty accurate to me. The real version would probably sound pretty similar if the throttle was just mashed like how it was in the game.

@ The sounds are bad on a lot of cars, but the comparison between the Supras in this video sounded passable to me. Not perfect, but pretty close. The Supra he was driving sounded like it was at low-ish RPMs and then with fast acceleration, the Supra in the game was at high RPMs at 200+ mph accelerating slowly in comparison. Bad example.

Ive played horizon 4 every day since launch and i can tell you 90% of the reasons people stop playing is winter
Winter wasnt even bad. You just dont over horse power. Focus on suspension and it was really fun.
Not the game's fault honestly. People are just braindead and go full throttle on snow, full steerlock on slippery corners, and late braking on downhill snowed roads. Personally, winter is my favourite. It gives a chance for people to show off their skills in cornering, throttle control, and compensating for oversteer and slides instead of raw speed and power.
I can understand why people would stop playing due to winter, but half of those are unreasonable for something to quit a whole game

Its because there is zero progression. I have said it for years and fully believe that is the issue. You can start the game up and within 30 minutes have a 1000 horsepower car that obliterates everything. There is zero gratification. Remember Need for Speed Underground 2, or Most Wanted? It took hours opon hours to get your dream car, you had to work for it. And once you got it, it was the best feeling ever. I replayed Ug2 recently and man i got a buzz when i finally unlocked a supra. Also there is no sense of danger, no cops, no nothing.

What they need is more versatility, not every car needs a v12 to be fast, maybe more customizing with body kits, new hoods that aren't generic. They should actually give you incentives for races

the gameplay aspect is also why I prefer project cars and assetto corsa to forza,gran turismo etc. no bullshit just racing,drifting and having fun.

Honestly, I just feel like FH3 felt like a holiday, amazing weather and views with nice cars and a goal to work towards (all festivals fully upgraded) while FH4 plays like a normal day. in normal life. not what im looking for tbh

I uninstalled it, and I don't know this guy. It crashes constantly, and performs horrible on Steam. Wasted 100 bucks on this shit show. Just play Beamng.

To be honest, I genuinely don’t have much enjoyment in forza horizon 4. It’s a great game but there’s no set progression to the game other than “do everything”.

They need to make progression much harder, I started the game and made 3 million credits in half an hour. What's the point in continuing to play? i can buy everything I want and everything is unlocked. Let me start with basic cheap cars, and make me earn my money! Make me unlock stuff so playing has a meaning other than running around with no purpose

The perfect horizon game should have a career in which you start with no money, a shitty car, and you make your way up. Kinda like nfs prostreet. Also they should add some upgreades that you can unlock from difficult challenges, so if you have a v12 swapped car it's because you grinded it for a long time
Progression has always been like this in Forza series
Horizon 2 was the same money wise, but Horizon 2 was great and will be the best car game ever for me
I still play Horizon 2 nowadays, but Horizon 4 is collecting dust since 2months after its release

Exactly what I thought, the previous two titles, FH2&3 have the exact same problem of absolutely no real progression and feel even more like an endless sandbox than FH4. And yet we’re all bored of FH4, so personally I think it goes deeper than just there not being anything to work towards. Because 2&3 had even less to work towards

I just bought this game a few days ago and I honestly think it might be one of my favourite games of all time, not just racing but any.

For me it's the customisation in nead for speed there are so many options and different ways to modify your car but in forza all we get is a ricer spoiler and a splitter with a toe hook and canards

I may be biased because I’m British, but I actually love the setting. The fact I can jump in a car and race around the British countryside whilst blasting Hospital Records Drum & Bass is so cool, and it honestly feels like home. I could jump in my car in real life and drive to a patch of countryside blasting some DnB and it literally feels like I’m in the game, it’s magical

The Supra engine sounded accurate lol. You were comparing a 2JZ shifting and lots of turbo noise to a supra in top gear already. not only that it was inside the car versus chase cam
Supra is not accurate. Listen to something from AMA Fmod on Assetto. If one man can do it and make it sound better, why can't Forza?
@@b00lintime go lookup video clips of ppl driving Supras. AMA Fmod is probably good but the forza sounds are pretty accurate compared to what I heard in videos. If anything more on accurate side than inaccurate. tbh MOD communities in video games usually make more realistic sounds across the board. Why is that? Im not really sure.
Forza 2jz doesn't sound anything like a real one. The clips in the vid weren't good but look up 2jz sounds and you will see the difference.
well, talking about 2jz, look at the 2jz sound in rFactor, a game from.... 2005..... only one man with a handful of samples made such a great sound

The only thing I miss from the horizon series is an actual story mode. Like in horizon 1 with Darius Flynt being the badass in the festival and working your way up just to dethrone him.

TheTofuWeazel they were just testing the waters, it was forza’s first open world racing game.But they seemed to have stepped back from that festival emersion and story. Now I can create a new account on fh4, do a seasonal challenge, get the car, wait one week , sell it for 20 million, spend money of cars that sound and feel the same, on a never ending bombardment of races that lead to nothing.
I love the new addition of cars, keeps the game interesting, especially when you can swap them with something better than the v12

I stopped playing because I was using a wheel, so I thought It would be a good idea to play against unbeatable drivatars, but at the end of the day they were just the same thing as the skilled drivatars only with more horsepower and less respect...
I do agree the game is extremely easy but i play it to relax and get my crazy car ideas happen without the insane budget id need in reality but i keep things interesting by having no abs, traction control, manual w clutch, and highly skilled driveatars it keeps things difficult and fun

Three reasons for me:
The psysics is too easy, nothing feels satisfying...
Engine sounds.
Progression.
Ok another reason. I want mountain roads to drift on.
Glen Rannoch or Ambleside. The former happens to be one of my favorite dirt races. However I really find Fortune Island a lot of fun for driving on compared to the main world.

For starters, nobody asked for the UK, almost EVERYONE wanted Japan. That was already a negative out of the gate. 2nd is the physics.. which are horrible, the user interface is bad. The lack of enticement and the ability to submerge the player is just a bad combo.
It is really no different than fh3 except the map is far nicer. fh has always been the same, no really deep story get money very easily from the get go.
Japan or not people would still complain. Physics are fine it is an arcade game at the end of the day.
RLN13S I feel like FH1 made you really work for money, 2 got easier with earning it, and then 3 & 4 made it super easy. But yeah, story is there but isn’t deep
This is why I didn’t even bother buying this game. I think Southern Europe from H2 is Horizon’s best map so far but I REALLY wanted Japan for this game.
What is up with everyone having this weird obsession for Japan, like what makes it so special, is it because of the cars they worship so much? Or what other reason, please someone explain it
Japan has large vibrant cities with lots of colors and interesting street layouts, unlike the UK for example. Japan also has mountain ranges that would be perfect for drifting & touge battles which is something the community has been asking for since Forza Motorsport 4. Having the game set in Japan would also give us the opportunity to drive some of the cool cars that are only sold there, kinda like the did with the Australian cars in FH3.
I still play it. This quarantine makes me want to just ride around on my cars on FH4.
Why me and my friends stopped playing it:
1) Nobody wants to play in the snow
2) There’s no true feel to progression so you run out of stuff to do real fast
3) The cars all feel VERY similar
4) Cosmetic customization is lacking
It’s honestly a shame, I paid for the $100 Ultimate Edition and have only put MAYBE 50 hours into the game...I can’t find myself to boot it up anymore because I just don’t have anything to do other than goof off with friends
yeah I also payed for the ultimate edition sucks heaps especially knowing that fh3 was better

Love Winter, anyone who says they don't like the snow, its simply because they can't drive/race in it. Takes a whole new driving style and done right it can be as fun, if not more fun then the other seasons.

Winter= best for drift. Especially on the snowy roads.. DAMN I JUST REMEMBERED THAT IT WI'LL BE SPRING NEXT WEEK IN FH4. Lucky for me for the perfect tune on my brz . I also love the nsx ( cuase closest thing to pinkguy's dodge stealth ), and the Honda crz as well as the: ford t6, Honda crz, hoonicorn, pagan zonda gold horizon edition, and some other subaru.

I get what you're saying but the game is focused around the cars and not the weather. They have cars in the game with real life counterparts so they should similar to them

It's the same old, same old sadly. Christ most exterior modifications dates back to FM2 or FM1 (looking at the R34 and Mkiv for example), then the sounds as mentioned in the video. How can they manage to create good sounds (say FH2/FH3 as an example) and make it so much worse in FH4.
You simply get bored extremely fast, because it's 90% the same game as the previous one.
What about car sounds in FH1? These were seriously on point.

I quit playing the game for the fact that it just gets repetitive over time. I mean yes it’s a car game so they are limited on what they could do but the races and every thing else just doesn’t feel rewarding. Once you beat all of the main races you just feel stuck and do boring races with challenges that don’t give you exciting rewards
That’s because it’s a game about challenging yourself to build cars in different ways for different race types and specs. Plus challenges like that with friends is great. If you play it like a NFS game it’s gonna get boring. But if you play it liked it’s supposed to be played you’ll have loads more fun
Playing over time feels almost like a chore. Even if you get a few rewards and new Forthazon cars here and there, it doesn't seem that fun. I feel like I have to work for something that isn't even that energetic.

If you can’t play a game like this (like the way it’s supposed to be played) then you’re clearly just not that interested in it. The creators of Forza horizon have put so much time into making a sandbox racing game where you can do what you want and then you go and complain that there isn’t enough things set in stone that make you want to play it.

Personally, I feel like the atmosphere of Australia fit the Horizon brand much more than 4. The party with cars vibe just naturally suits the warm & colorful beaches and jungles of Australia much more compared to Britain. Don't get me wrong, I've played FH4 more than 3, but every time I fire up 3 on my PC I instantly get hit with the great atmosphere. I just don't get the same feeling with FH4. Like I said, FH4 is an amazing game imho, bar the issues mentioned in the video, but 3 was much more focused and dialed in to me.

Banki this is exactly why Horizon 1 is the best. The setting was perfect and the scene was all there. I still find myself choosing FH1 over everything, while there are features missing like tuning, it’s still a genuine road racing game, with not overwhelming activities. FH3 is a close second though

I've been playing Forza for over 10 years now, and I've given up on it recently, and there are several key reasons why.
1. Lack of customization. He kinda touched on it with the V12 swap thing, which I totally agree with, but it goes beyond that. It's basically impossible to make a vehicle truly feel like your own. Unless you're driving a unicorn car, it doesn't matter what vehicle you have or what mods you've done to it, there is at least one other player who has the EXACT same set up in their garage.
2. Engine upgrades don't make sense. If you put a giant set of twin turbos on a 100% bone stock 454, you aren't going to make full boost at 2k rpm, and you aren't going to have a perfectly linear powerband. Lol. Irl It's very easy to throw parts at an engine and make it WORSE. That's not the case in Forza. No matter what you do, you're always going to perform better.
3. Lack of tuning. No game has really touched on this outside of Automation, but tuning is incredibly shallow. It leads to there being virtually no skill ceiling, and it feels super unrewarding. Why should someone who's spent the last 20 years around cars be on the same level as the 10 year old who googled "fastest car in forza"?
4. No progression. With modern Forza games, I get millions of credits in "loyalty rewards" right out the gate, and my starter vehicle ends up being something like a GT350. What the hell? lol. How does that make sense?
I understand that Turn 10 only has Forza and they need to make it as easy and accessible as possible, but if they continue at this rate, most of the veteran fans are gonna jump ship, like I have.
Binge played every one since 2009 with FM3. Forza Horizon 4 was a blast for the first few months then idk what it is but I don’t play it NEARLY as much as I used to. I think it’s that there are so many other games I’m trying to play at the same time like COD MW, Fortnite, GTA 5 FarCry, Wreckfest and so on. Might hop back into the game soon though.
I'm a recent player, played on the 360 first (I enjoy those Forza's). As a new player I'm trying to find ways to enjoy FH4, but I can only do so with friends that I've added over the years. But, I do think your spot on with it, I wished they improve on the tuning/painting/customization aspect of the game, I've been a GT player for many years and I also have the same complaints as you guys do on Forza even if I"m a recent player I still see your point.

I feel similar. Lack of progression hits me the hardest. It's just a weird feeling how there is zero progression, everything is thrown at you rapidly. Boom, have a house, boom have a sweet ride, boom have ten more, boom have all this money.
You also make some really good points on the rest, I would like to see some more depth and realism added, however while keeping the lighthearted racing spirit the game otherwise has, aka just go do open world races, some fun stuff etc.
My personal wishlist also would be better wheel support, since the FFB is more a vague suggestion as to what the car is doing, I love driving with a wheel, but it's also a lot more difficult. It feels when using the controller the game adds a bunch of unseen little helpers even with assists off that make it much easier to pull off tricks and such. So realistic vehicle handling would be very welcome tbh. No more sportscars doing 200mph offroad with usable grip etc. just because you put on offroad tires
Lastly, turn ranked racing into a bigger thing and bring over the steward AI from FM7, make actual racing a bigger thing and lose the last to first myth that is being pushed in the story such as there is, focus on improvement, proper racing etc.
I feel like those two concepts can work together, but who knows~ I love the idea of an open world racer with tons of cars, but I'd love to earn my way up through the various licenses, and make cars feel like a real achievement when getting one, and for them to feel like the real thing, and tuning to be a project rather than a one minute affair.
Edit: Also yes, the lack of sense of speed. You just don't get a feel of acceleration, cars just all seem to go stupid fast unless you use D class etc, then it somehow starts to feel more measured and appropriate. The feeling of weight really isn't quite there. For instance I really enjoy PCars 2, the handling is great on my wheel and you get this sense of weight an inertia to the car, in FH4 it's mostly just missing, you hit the accelerator, and woosh you're past 100mph. It feels a bit over the top. A game that celebrates cars for what they really are rather than some fantasy idea of what they might be in a kid's head, combined with good handling and racing would be great.

I had so much fun in FH2. I thought it was the best thing ever. Was my first Horizon game. H3 and 4 felt much more tame... I liked the setting of H2 the best to this day. I mean.. britain is boring...

John Lilly I agree. Fh3 is my favourite. I love blasting around the map at full speed whilst still having corners, jumps and cars to dodge. Some of the cars like the Porsche’s, which I drive mostly and the c12 pagani I drive for the only reason that they sound good and handle well. I also LOVED fh2. Almost as much as fh1 and fh3

Horizon games have always been released with 2 year gaps. We are 2 years into FH4 and theres 0 info about new game, instead we keep getting paid DLCs and no real content. At this point, game is stale. People completed all the story lines 2 years ago, so all there is left to do is free roam for the 1000th time or do same old boring races.

By far my favorite multiplayer game mode of the last 25 years is Horizon 1's playground games. I fell in love so hard and they have just crushed me every release since. I thought 2 was a step back and then 3 a step up.. 4's playground games... I didn't even buy 4. I have the game pass and I tried it... I tried the playground games, because that's my favorite part.. I played 3 different games and uninstalled it and I have absolutely no reason or desire to play it ever again, that was like over a year ago. However, I just recently reinstalled 1 & 3 this past month.. If they delivered with the playground games, I would have bought the physical copy, brand new, no issue.. I did this with Halo Wars and some other games I tried on the game pass.. It breaks my heart to be honest, because I remember being with my buddy in my house he had come back from college on break or whatever, we might have actually been on the phone idr and we watched the premiere event thing I think it was an E3 or something... because we had been playing Forza Motorsport since way back.. Neither of us had ever been that hyped for a video game before. Not really since either.. It just doesn't feel the same.. Horizon 1 was special. It just felt different, it still feels different to me. These other games, especially 4, just seem like IDK.. It has no heart. Horizon 1, when you load the game, you have the event posters, Horizon 2012.. All I needed for a sequel, auction house & tuning. I didn't need anything else. They added those, then changed everything else. I think I played as many Playground Games in 3 as I did in 1, I really don't remember any of it.. But, I still remember moments in 1. Playing infected on the Golf Course, Red Rock, the warehouse area, the little towns & neighborhoods I can't remember the names of atm.. King at Red Rock, this was a strategic operation. That farm land area down at the bottom of the map near that road with the fall leaves on the tree canopy, the tv station with the broken barricade.. even Cat & Mouse, which I didn't like early on, then I really got to enjoy it. Building the perfect car for every class applicable to Playground Games, because it had to be a different setup than races if you wanted to be succesful due to the different aspects of that game mode. I remember specific moments with other players, I remember the cars I used, certain victories, etc.. I remember driving my RS200 around the entire map searching for all of the discount signs and finding that last sign off in some little public park area that wasn't really noticeable on the map. I could and would love to keep going, but my agreement is already longer than your post by a bit. lol. my apologies.. but yeah.
If u thought 2 on the One was a step back from 1, I'm unfortunate enough to own 2 on the 360. Oh, and 8 years later, i'm STILL on 99/100 discount signs in 1.

The map was the part that bored me to uninstalling. I love to explore in open world games. There are some landmarks to visit, but theres not much to see. And what there is to see is so small that it can be fully explored with in like 10 minutes or so.

Plus with Horizon 2 there were seriously tight corners and amazing sections of the map. With horizon 4 all the roads are very similar and there's no real changes
FH4 is pretty, but as a person who could drive around the gorgeous maps of FH1, 2, and 3 for hours, I find myself getting really bored with FH4’s map.

The only reason they dropped cars from the lineup is because certain companies **cough** Toyota **cough** are suddenly upset that Horizon is "promoting dangerous and illegal street racing" so they decided to pull their licensing.
Fh3 & fm4 or fm6 ar my favorites, im 2,050 in 6 and still play lol. Only lv 162☆1 in fh4 (and its boring now)
You thought FM6 was good? No way. FM4 was the best and most complete FM title they have made to date. The physics, especially for tires, and the sounds were unmatched.

I don’t really know. For me, I love customizing cars, but once you modify a car, it gets boring because every modified car sort of feels the same. I get bored with them. The sounds don’t sound real either, which is a huge thing for me. I’d like for the V8’s to sound like V8’s, I-6 to sound like I-6’s. My favorite games were the first two Horizons. Horizon 3 started losing its touch, but Horizon 4 just had no feeling. Like a Cookie Cutter game. Kind of like how COD did the same with their games for the longest time with not really upgrading anything, but just adding new little details year after year. 🤷🏻♂️

A big part for me is the setting. Think in FH3 where there’s the Outback, the Jungle, the Dunes, that river delta up north, a giant city, and tons of neat places spread across the map. Then, you compare it to FH4, which is just Britain. Plains, sheep, etc. That’s it.

I beg to differ about the whole 2jz engine sound. It sounds exactly like a stock 2j. In fact it’s probably the most accurate sounding 2j forza has ever had. But where it lacks is when you upgrade it, it sounds exactly the same which is not accurate at all.
I've revved a stock naturally aspirated 2JZ IRL and Forza Horizon 2's sounded so much closer to it than 4's. I don't know where you heard it sounds like a stock 2J because it doesn't...

I’ve played this game everyday since day one of launch and I still enjoy the game very much. I keep in mind forza horizon 4 is not a sim racing game. It’s a free roam open world game and it acts like so. And I get the car sounds are not good but still give the devs a break. Look at the amount of cars we have. The devs can’t perfect every little thing. I’m still annoyed getting clothing and 5k from Wheelspins. FH4 is still a great game no matter what people say. I will always love this forza the most out of all Horizons. We got so many good things from this game that were not in older games. Forza gets monthly updates which usually adds 4 or so cars so the game does stay updated and new. It has been dragged out for too long and I do feel sometimes this game is boring but I never will stop with this game especially with Toyota and Lexus coming back.

I been having a lot of fun playing fh4 with friends doing the season and driving the different cars instead of S2 awd v12 engine swapped cars all the time. People also complain about the engine sounds and yes they are not the best but what do you expect when everyone just puts a v8 and change the original engine out.

I personally love FH4. I love Britain, the biggest reasons I bought FH4 to be honest, Edinburgh is just spot on, whenever I see photos of it a sense of home hits me, I love my rainy weather and changing seasons (ironically, the best season to play the eliminator is winter, everything is white so you can easily spot the purple), the car list in the eliminator changes with the season. I simply adore listening to Timeless FM and driving in my Mercedes near the reservoir. For me (and apparently an increasing number of people) FH4 is just the better game when compared to FH5

Yeah I got a free senna for downloading the demo. And I got crazy amounts of good cars and good money from wheelspins. I didnt feel any actual grind

Considering how many cars there are, its not that big of a deal.
I reckon they should've kept the old lobby system I rarely find myself having those drift trains or mini races and drag events anymore everyone just seems to do their own thing and it feels like the multiplayer has actually isolated the community
Never played the previous games, but in FH4 I find it very difficult to connect to ppl and play with them. No real interaction, everyone just races to the finish line and then fricks off alone. It's almost like it's a chore to play with others.

The OG Forza horizon is backwards compatible and it’s my favorite. I own all of them and find myself going back to horizon 2/3 pretty often. The scenery and gameplay to me is just different. I enjoy all of them but I believe the original paved the way and 2/3 had a perfect balance.
FH1 is great, and FH3, I love the hot wheels expansion.
I have fh1 on my xbox but lost the disc to play it
