So Indiana had just waived the one player on the team that knows and likes Clark and could actually help her be more effective. Literally every action they take it feels like Indiana Fever are trying to sabotage Clark.

No one is saying Damiris Dantas should have been waived over Taylor. They are saying Victaria Saxton should have been waived over Celeste Taylor. Saxton has sat the bench of the Fever for the past two years, averaged 3 minutes of play & done nothing. Saxton was a third round 25th pick. She should have been cut & EVERYONE expected Saxton to be the one to get cut when Dantas returned.
I am so confused. Saxton and Boston have amazing chemistry. Why doesn't she play more? She has decent size and has a defensive mindset.

I tune in to watch Caitlin could care less about the gays.I watched Clark play for Iowa and to see how bad she has been treated in the wnba by her coach ,teammates.to go from an elite basketball program like Iowa (know it was college to the awful Fever, It is heart breaking, sad to watch.Caitlin deserves to be on a better team with teammates who want her and will pass the ball to her.

After watching this Caitlyn Clark/Indiana Fever saga, I will never, ever, ever, ever again criticize another rookie for pulling a Kobe or Steve Francis and refusing to play for the organization that drafted them.
This is a reaction to Smith getting owned by Reese. Could be short sighted. Would have rather seen Wallace or Wheeler gone. You waive your first round draft pick? Also puzzling because Temi is ready to come back.
I Googled Dantas and she has eight years experience with Atlanta and the Lynx. She could be a good find. I thought on the 13th round of the draft the Fever SHOULD have selected Kate Martin, CCs best frienf from Iowa.
She was on Injury Reserve. So she was always part of the Fever's plans this season.

Dantas was signed in February and couldn’t make training camp because of a knee injury.
They should also waive CC she doesn't deserve to be in this team,they are ruining her career
I have seen enough of this years rookies to say, college players talent transfer quite well to the WNBA. Celeste is better than Kate Martin. I think this was all about wanting Dantas and not allowing Celeste Taylor to prove she can play at this level. If Dantas was available in the beginning, Celeste would have been cut in preseason. Pretty simple you were not going to play CT. If Dantas can rebound and shoot then so be it. Sky replacing Cardosa and Reese with 2 more bigs is crazy compared to what the Fever has. Boston would be a forward on most teams. She is our big. Great job Lin Dunn.

That's a shame. Definitely could have switched between Wallace and Taylor, even Berger was given many chances to play. Also Fever could have signed Skylar Diggins (former Mercury now plays for Storm) before this season started but decided not to. Big loss all around.

Stupid moves like this are why everyone is calling for Sides & Dunn to be fired now. The longer Sides & Dunn are allowed to stay, the more damage they can do to the team with stupid moves like this. This was done to protect Wallace's position as the starter & because Saxton feeds Sides ego. Sides & Dunn care more about having their buddies on the team than actually having good players.
I didn't even see this stupid of a move coming. But I have been worried that Sides & Dunn will make another stupid move of trading Berger, because that would further ensure Wheeler's position on the team, since Berger is a backup PG. So there are more stupid moves they can make if they are allowed to continue to manage the team any longer. And God forbid, if we don't get rid of them soon, they could even renew Wheeler's ridiculous contract & stick the Fever with that huge expense for the next couple of years.

So, if you don't know too much about Celeste, just watch the Connecticut game that they played on 6/10. Celeste got AROUND a screen and caused the Connecticut player to miss the shot. Something that I don't see any other Fever players doing. Also, watch how she sprinted toward the opposite court. She had a block, she went to the free throw line (and I think made one of those) and she got a bucket. She had 3pts and a block and this is what Celeste was able to do in her measly 7 minutes that Sides gave her to play when she was in the Connecticut game. Celeste is an NCAA 2 time Defensive Player of the Year. I think Celeste would have been a great compliment to CC because they are both fast players. Coach Sides and the whole Fever organization are a complete joke.
Such a crap move. I hope some team picks her up. This was always the plan. Dantas had Visa issues to start the season I believe. If no issues Celeste would have gotten cut from the beginning. Probably why they did not want to play her. If she played and got hurt then she probably would have gotten a settlement or had to be left on roster, Do not know the internals of their player agreements.
Dantas seems to check all the same boxes as Smith. I wish we'd made this move when Temi got hurt, but better late than never I guess. With Caitlin playing huge minutes, we definitely have too many guards. I wouldn't prefer Taylor be the odd one out, but the team has to have more info than some random fan on the internet. Hope she catches on elsewhere and gets a shot.

Was so looking forward to Celeste Taylor and Caitlin Clark playing together. Celeste was the 2024 Defensive Player of the Year in our Big 10. Caitlin and Celeste supported each other through this tough rookie year. She should have been playing! No opportunity to show any of her skills. People were saying to put her in during games. Erica Wheeler is Coach Sides friend. Saxton is Boston's friend. But Celeste is the one out.
Taylor is a guard. Dantas is a forward/center to back up Boston, Smith, and Fagbenle. The Fever had a guard heavy roster which they just balanced out.

Are there games when they are "absolutely dominant"?, and others where she fades into the background. .Or do they "fade into the background" and negatively impact the game.

Celeste is an excellent player, she was never given a chance with the fever, the times she did get in the game she was great and displayed great energy and basketball knowledge, I hope another team picks her up.
It doesn't make sense letting Taylor go. Taylor may have had some upside. We already know what Wallace and Saxton bring to the table which is not much.

He's got a point. We need a big that can defend and shoot, BUT they need to be able to actually move and not run like they are in sand. I really like Smith and think she's done a pretty good job, but Reese ate her up in this last game. I know we fouled a lot and Sky was at the free throw line constantly (it felt like) but someone needed to get dominant with Reese and Smith wasn't doing it (which surprised me). I hope Dantas helps in that position, but I sure miss Temi. She gets up the floor in a hurry!

WOW....this clearly proves 2 things. First, the coach and GM definitely read the comments from fans. Second, they are giving us fans the middle finger and sending us a message about who's boss. Time to send a message back. Releasing Taylor? WTF ??? You haven't even seen what she can do. To draft her just to never play her and then release her, is criminal. It is grimy as it gets. She was treated horribly. No great player will ever want to come to Indiana. This pretty much confirms for me the rumor out there that Sides is lovers with Wallace and is appeasing her. It appeared that Sides didnt have the story behind Taylor a double DPOY and Sides let that player gather dust on the bench, and then the organization decides to waive Taylor. For a coach who claimed to be a defensive minded coach doesnt play Taylor doesnt even give a chance and instead waives her, the best perimeter defender on the team without question. This move was unthinkable but maybe even more unthinkable is why Sides has remained the coach and allowed all this to happen. All the wins really happened because Clark carried this team,, not because of coaching in the least.

Wheeler is playing a max protected contract this year. From what I know they haven't offered her a contract extension yet. The same goes for Mitchell.

The Fever desperately need defense we have the defensive player of the year in the ACC for Duke, goes to Ohio state and won big 10 defensive player of the year she's great off the ball and all around defender and she can run the floor. So what does CS have this player doing warming the bench of course. Celeste Taylor by far the best defensive player on the team has seen only about 20 minutes of playing time this year. So now we are desperate for defense lets waive or best defensive player.
Avg 7 pts and 4 rebounds in her entire career. Players always look better overseas. She is taller, but it makes me nervous to see how she will be used.

Well by the stats, it looks like a no-brainer. Dantas is 6'3" and can play D along with being a good 3-pt shooter and generates assists. The fever need some height. Celeste is only 5'11 and can't shoot as well. If one wants to argue to build towards the future--and if Taylor could have been a better player--is a point but the Fever don't look to be looking at that phase. It's to bad for Taylor and hopefully she gets picked up by somebody else but its hard to fault the Fever on this one.
They should’ve drafted Martin at 15. She’s such a versatile player. Martin has had starting time on the aces. The only difference is she probably wouldn’t have had a chance
