I don't think the narrator is watching Misfortune all the time as he seems to have gaps in his knowledge. Like how he doesn't notice the straw dolls for example. Maybe he is leading multiple children away at once? That would be a possible explanation.
Im thinking since the dolls are "guides for childrens" of sort, that it wouldnt be seen by the narrator. For cautions

Hey, Demon guy taught this child a lot of legit facts about life and forbid her from swearing. As bad as he is, I feel like this is the most that someone ever cared for Misfortune.
Truly. It makes me feel weird because he clearly have bad ulterior motives, and yet he's probably the kindest to Misfortune. Really makes you realise there are truly no black and white in people.

Mr Voice seems to be dropping more and more of the act as this goes on, but Misfortune is just too nice to realize it. If the narrator really is the cause of all the children going missing, then I'm not too certain the demon from the game, Itward, is also Mr Voice. Itward at least presented himself as friendly to Fran Bow and was kind to her. Of course, Fran Bow herself wasn't the best viewpoint to know what was actually going on around her so it's possible.
Itward was something of a guardian spirit, so I doubt he and Mr Voice are the same

The "demon" is a parasite from a dimension without logic, a byproduct of an interdimensional war. It takes dead victims from Pandora (our solar system's dimension) and feeds on their souls, preventing them from reaching Senersedee. As such, Benjamin's job is to save these souls from a horrible death to a "Senersedee parasite".

A part of me wonders if that was maybe like the last thing Hiro said before he died, if he was looking for someone in particular, or maybe the voice, or the fox. You can see his face (without the alien mask) in some of the lost children posters too. He's wearing the cowboy hat.

Kiri (きり) does not mean "you". You probably confused it with kimi (君). Kiri in this case refers to mist (霧). So "Kiri wa doko desuka?" means "where is the mist?"
@@RoosSpook Yeah, I ended up finding that out (rather late after making my post) when somebody in another comment section linked a better translation program. Not sure why so many of us are getting different results but "Where is the mist?" was the one that was showing up the most, yeah.

Is that dark place that the game keeps flashing to the super-reality? Or is it that layer of death that was briefly mentioned in that notebook in Fran Bow? It doesn't seem to have the same red aesthetic that the layer of darkness did in Fran Bow.
Well, remember that the super-realities (ultra reality?) have a ton of different kinds of them. Many of them feature blood prominently, but some of them are girly and cute like the twin's homes... Not to mention the really scenic world of Istharia (can't remember the name) that was just a plant-heaven with never-ending story vibes.

Our narrator is very dubious. He does seem like he talks in a parent like manner and misfortune is very obedient. He might just be the bad guy and ol Benjamin who might really be called Johnny is trying to stop the voice from beyond from luring away children. Probably sent by the real Death to stop the demon. Whose no doubt trying to get misfortune killed
The eternal happiness might have been a gun or something akin to that.

I think it's not "Death" per se, but the devil or evil - probably who lures the children to their doom like a psychic kidnapper. There was a fresh grave in the pet cemetery & wondered if some bodies are buried there, almost surprised she didn't find more 'child-sized' bones in the graves. Benjamin is definitely a good guy, either an actual fox or a person she is reverse-anthropomorphizing.
Yep, totally Remor, leaving away Poor, unsuspecting children from bad homes to their deaths, which is Why there are so many missing posters all around. Benji is obviously trying to prevent stuff like this, and the reason mr. Voice is so aggro with them drawings is because he wouldn’t be able to do stuff like this anymore. I can see that he’s getting impatient, with the way he’s talking to Misfortune now
At 6:16, Misfortune is calling out all the choice games that try to make you feel guilty about choices you've made.
So, the narrator is a Brittish, parental, "I am just in your head", morally gray character with a nick for leading away children that when he first was introduced had clocks ticking in the background.

What if you don’t throw the glitter? I notice when she shifts the thought into a happy thought it shows her heart full. Can you drain her happiness if you don’t fix it with glitter? Or are you required to throw it?
If you don't hit all of the glitter spots then you don't get the secret ending.
Five minutes in, and I'm noticing "damn it" is the only swear the narrator hasn't chided her about. If the narrator is of the underworld, that's some pretty decent foreshadowing about how he doesn't think of that phrase with a negative connotation.
