I was really expecting the twist to be that she was kidnapping neighborhood dogs to hide the fact that she ate dog. Instead, this game dove right into insanity and I honestly loved it. This just became a comedy to me, it was so suddenly bonkers that I couldn't even be surprised by what happened.

It's subverting your expectations; usually it's be a point of redemption but this dog was like "no f that"
I think what makes it funny in a way is that Olivia is such a deadpan psychopath.
She genuinely is more surprised at the dog his anger than the fact he can talk.
In her mind she did nothing wrong despite the fact that most creatures don't take it very well when you try to eat them.
I hope one day someone does the opposite and makes a dark game that actually turns out to be cute

it's funny because he looks like a stereotypical isekai protagonist, and i assumed he was missing because he ended up on another world.
I guessed it was the missing guy early on, but I thought Olivia was making dog food from people.
I want to see a horror game turn wholesome. It would be such a nice twist for a change. Or better yet, have a game that start horror then wholesome then horror, which give us false hope.
There's a horror turned wholesome(ish) game called Cute Flesh where the monster girl chasing you turns out to be a character of a dating sim. Highly recommend it!
BioShock? Depending on what ending you get, the first one ends rather wholesome (not the other two tho. Those are hella bittersweet)

Honestly, this game has so many pre-set characters and personalities, I'm surprised it's not part of an overarching series, and kinda sad.
Like what *is* Lulu? How did Olivia get her? Why can it only eat one type of meat? Or if Lulu can eat different types of meat, why doesn't Olivia buy meat? What about her friends? What do they think happened? And *caught evil lord?* Is that an easter egg, or means more?

(And also in exchange having some scary games actually be wholesome, like Cute Flesh where the scary monster girl chasing you that then turned into a dating sim)

That was a funny scary game. One moment you were soiling your pants, the next: cute eldrich abomination.
The best part was reacting to the fact there was a monster talking to you and she was like "oh, you are so silly".

Ok so if I'm understanding the game here the plot seems to be...
The characters live firstly in a fantasy-esque anime world that still houses modern surroundings and technology, where perhaps the wild is more densely populated with strange creatures while also maintaining a city life. There was at one point a terrible demon lord wreaking havoc as is ought to happen in your standard rpg however they were supposedly defeated by a group of young heroes. That only seems to be the case however- in truth the demon hid itself away in another form, one cute, unassuming, and naive. That of our protagonist. It's as of yet unclear whether she is aware of this or not but she does have some memories still, the fact she kidnapped one of the heroes who helped defeat her seems solid enough proof of that. The demonic creature lulu found it's way back to its master, perhaps was even at one point a proper guest, strong enough to survive the heroes assault but not capable of rebirthing or "sekai-ing" like its master, hence she keeps the creature as a pet until it can one day grow strong enough to aid her in re-taking the world. Feeding it nearly living meat, fostering its food in care but not too much care, perhaps because the demon feeds not only on flesh, but of spirit, of purity, the soul having to be of a certain quality before consumption. However one soul managed to escape the creatures fearsome jaws, the dog sibling who had just enough strength to warn the seemingly last of his bloodline and if not end the rein or cycle of this demon lord at least buy their sibling some time before the whole worlds eventual demise. This awakening some power of the dog, some autonomy which allowed them to act and even speak to their family's tormentor. Being one of these "magical creatures" aforementioned. Hence why they knew it was better to try and burn the creatures before them rather than injure such a powerful deity. The heat created by the demon pets monstrous aura, hence the need for such a large vent, granting the town at the least a warning if nothing else of what is to come even knowing that it was ultimately pointless, hence not wasting time trying to save the doomed human.

Well now I really need part 2 of this game. The plot was deeper than I thought it was, dang.
I agree that its a fantasy RPG setting in modern day city, and that the monster was probably a minion, but I think that's all really, it is a monster, in a basement, being fed doggos.
I really like how Olivia stays consistency the whole game.

You know, I'd like to see a game where the protag has this huge house where weapons are hidden in every corner, and every visitor is like super paranoid because the protag is a killer and then just turns out that no, they're super oblivious to the weapons around and turns out that they inherited a place from a relative who was a paranoid cop or something and hid all sort of weapons around the house to defend himself from... whatever. I think there's actually a romcom book about this in my language.
Still, it would be a nice change of pace to have a game like that.
