  • Hi guys,
    In this video I will be discussing how dentists get paid in the UK. This one is a very frequently asked question but for some reason no one knows the answer. It is not my intention to spread misinformation so everything I have spoken about in this video is from official documents!
    DFT salary: 1:31
    DCT salary: 3:27
    Associate salary (UDA’s and targets): 5:42

    Thank you for the information really appreciate it!
    I am not sure if I understood completely, but if a patient comes with an urgent need of extraction that count as 1.2 UDA, but if the extraction was planed it counts as 3. What is the logic behind that? Shouldn't an urgent extraction count as more?
    Another thing I find complete madness is counting root canal treatment the same level of complexity as a filling; however does the dentist gets separate UDA for the root canal treatment and the filling, obviously the tooth will need a filling after the root canal treatment so is that 3+3? The way this is designed sounds really discouraging to do root canal treatments.

      That money is actually tax collection, NHS subtracts the money that patients pay at the practice before paying the practice. So effectively, money paid by patients does not go to the practice but to the NHS.

    Good afternoon, could someone help me?
    i need a dentist i was recommended to Chesterfield Orthodontic
    and they replied that they only accepted patients through the NHS from a referral system called Rego by a general dentist. Because they cannot accept references from the patients themselves
    Since I never had a dentist in the UK how do I order one?
    There are no vacancies and the only hospital that has it
    grateful for your help

    • @iqrariaz6940
      @iqrariaz6940 3 года назад +1

      Register at a dentist first, and then the dentist will check whether you need braces or not and if it can be covered under the NHS, and then if you are eligible for NHS treatment for braces you will get referred on a orthodontist. That's it, the waiting list is long though.
