And how many people get into those colleges? Please share that also, cmon man, the real numbers are in front of you. Majority of students taking admission go into private colleges, and then into debt.
I mean you it's still a huge margin after paying the loans and shit. Moreover, you can also avail scholarships. One quick computing i did regarding salary of a minimum wage worker, earning 10 dollars per hour in USA yielded their wage to be more than what a MBBS graduate in India makes earning 60 thousand rupees per month. Doctors in USA and even in UK earn exorbitant sums of money.

As a medical professional, you should know that working longer than 10 hours causes mental mistakes and physical coordination becomes impaired. How can you say you are performing your best on a patient if you know that you are not functioning at 100%.
You can earn about rs.12 lakh per year if you are pursuing your residency from an apex institute, e.g. AIIMS. The fees are next to none there and you get all the facilities. So, basically, if you get selected in a good government college you can earn while you learn and not spend much of it, on the another hand if you pursue your training from a private college, you will get robbed of most of your money and not have much left in the end. You cannot compare INDIAN DOCTORS salary to that of the UK ones as the cost of living is very different in both of the countries, however, it wouldn't hurt to give the DOCTORS the extra money for the extra hard work that they have to do in INDIA.
Indian doctors start medicine after 12 years of education, but in North America one starts medicine after 16 years of education + minimum 3 years of residency to get a GP license.

Although free or negative pay is the lowest, as for the UK or the USA, those incredibly high wages also have much higher costs for necessities. As for my area the minimum rent for a 1bedroom apt is $1,000/month, in the nearby city it is $1,300-1,500. These are bad apts in possibly dangerous neighborhoods. There are almost zero options for rooming houses. Just 1 room in place is usually $700. There are quite a few fully employed people who live in their car, or in a shelter, or tent. The tent cities (American slums) are regularly cleared/destroyed. In winter it is very possible to freeze to death.

It's true even as intern, I've worked 40 hours straight. Particularly my college is notorious for heavy internship and post mbbs jr/mo ship as we don't have pg seats apart from derma and obgy. So below AP we are accountable despite being interns. Many a times post mbbs MO go on strikes for pay disbursement and while all the workload falls on interns. At a times I was so exhausted that I don't even remember which day it is after waking up coz need to go to ED or ward. I've managed 6 patients of poisoning and MI at same time felt like one man army. The confidence of saving one's life comes at a cost as we can't study for the same year exam due to so much work. Many students flee to a low workload internship college and prepare for exam. Pay was ₹5800 or 79$🤣 But I'm confident enough to do Emergency Duties in any ICU now. I've lost 10kg weight that year. Hope situation improves and becomes bearable for students.
its all due to the different in currency rates but Indian aunties will be so excited to say oh my son/daughter earns lakhs/ crores abroad lol little do they know the standard of living/ expenses are equally higher there!
So Kiran's basic pay is basically what I earn overtime and inconvenient working hours. IWH is +50% and is counted before 6AM and after 6PM. Since I sometimes work 12+ hours/day I tend to get slightly more than average pay.

Conclusion - Its not worth at all becoming a doctor in india if you want to earn good ( If you like getting thrashed by the public thats another exception )
UK and USA - post graduate training programs - Zero fees. During training - good salary is paid as the doctor trains in whichever specialty.India - doctors waste time in entrance coaching centres instead of practising medicine which they learnt fresh from mbbs. Fees runs into lakhs and crores. No salary but only basic “stipend”
It's not that expensive... I'm a nurse in the UK and I can easily save atleast £1500 a month after all outgoings. Along with my husband's savings it comes around £3000 savings as long as you are not driving around any fancy cars and dishing out lots of money on branded clothes and eating out..
US doctors - 4 years college + 4 year Medical schools + 2 years residency + 2 years of specialization. Also all the board exams and medical licences. The tutution fees they are paying is minimum 300k to 350k dollars, where as in india and UK doctors dont have to spend this much money and time in university. The fees is very very less of what in US. So American doctor get paid more because of thier investment in time and money and this cannot be compare with India and UK

Medical degree is an expensive degree when compared to any other degree in india. And why would they pay a truck load of money to be a doctor to get paid nothing?. Once a doctor get to a certain level there is no other day job that pays like a doctor. Unless that person is a corrupt government employee or a business man they cannot make that kind of money. I live in a city ,from my childhood i visit two different clinic's near my house when i need theirs help. And both the doctor's children are doctors as well. Now think why would a doctor in india would pay close to 1 core rupees for management seat in medical college for their children to be doctor if the pay is dog crap?. If you want a young doctor in india to be paid over 200,000$ per year then indian standard of living must be increased first. If you compare any profession then pay in india with western countries the pay will be less only indian standard of living is cheap. There a people who work 8/day and make less than 100$ a month in India.

I am 25 right now with no earnings and would be 28-29 by the time i start earning anything …..most important things for students like me is to take burden off of my parents …….Priority is not to get rich but to be self dependent and free parents from taking care of my expenses

Yes, doctors in India deserve much better pay but u missed out that medical education in govt. colleges are much cheaper than in the west. U dont have to pay that student loan for the rest of ur life.
In UK you have to minimum for the college if you are a local resident compared to that of international students
You forget about bonds😂😂
And how many people get into those colleges? Please share that also, cmon man, the real numbers are in front of you. Majority of students taking admission go into private colleges, and then into debt.
I agree but how easy is it for general merit to get a free seat considering the current scenario. In UK there’s no tuition fee for residency

You can earn about rs.12 lakh per year if you are pursuing your residency from an apex institute, e.g. AIIMS.
The fees are next to none there and you get all the facilities.
So, basically, if you get selected in a good government college you can earn while you learn and not spend much of it, on the
another hand if you pursue your training from a private college, you will get robbed of most of your money and not have much left in the end.

Living in Mumbai is also expensive
US doctors - 4 years college + 4 year Medical schools + 2 years residency + 2 years of specialization. Also all the board exams and medical licences. The tutution fees they are paying is minimum 300k to 350k dollars, where as in india and UK doctors dont have to spend this much money and time in university. The cost of living in UK is much higher as compared to India though.
More than the money, I'm more intrigued by the humane working conditions
In your every smile, it seems like you want to cry with every time him elaborating his payments check.
In govt medical colleges, the fee is very negligible. Plus, during internship, we don't need to pay anything.
Having said that, the total salary is nowhere close to his given the number of hours we work.
Why should someone be paying for an internship?
You forgot how few these seats are.
