The OEM part is a joke. Not even a garage as they call it. Your solution is spot-on and perfect. looks like it was always intended for that. I like it.
I just received my Luba on Friday & was just looking for a garage for it. Like you, I was also shocked when I googled them so I’m gonna do this too. Thanks for sharing.
This one's not perfect. It's a little bit too shallow, either the back of the front is going to hang out a little. But maybe you can use this idea and find something that's even better. I've seen some other people buy A huge plastic drum and cut it in half. Just make sure you know your measurements before you start looking And you should be fine with anything, Make sure it's plastic.
That will take a week to print! cost you about 50.00 in filament too lol. I purchased the window well and 4x4, A 2ft by 4ft print thick enough to handle all the hot and cold weather... If I need it to look pretty ill print something to add to it lol. I am thinking of printing some horns for the Luba2 😈😆
Mower house? Lol. Most of the products call them mower garages. Like it wouldn't be a car house, it would be a car garage. Living things get houses (like a doghouse), non-living things get garages or sheds. Anyways, good idea and it looks like the Luba garage worked. It looks like Luba has eyes already with those two axle joints at 4:35 then the nose and bumper as a mouth.
I wonder if it would be a good idea to cut a hole to try to funnel water from the roof towards the rain sensor? I like the idea of getting the mower out of the sun to mitigate UV degradation of the plastic and rubber components, but when completely protected from the rain Luba has no means of knowing that the lawn is still wet from a recent storm. It would need to attempt to mow during the storm to understand that it was raining. Maybe some sort of funnel system aimed towards the rain sensor rather than just a hole?
@@robbertvriens4351 I haven't made a dedicated video of it but I've posted several times about it going during a thunderstorm. I just posted two or three days ago on my other channel a video of it mowing in a thunderstorm ⛈️😂 we can test this a little further I'm getting backed up on videos at the moment but we can make it happen in a week or two
I’m thinking about buying a Luba but wondered if I could just have Luba backup under my deck a couple feet. Wasn’t sure if it needed location while on the charging dock or if it needs it once I pulls forward (like to where you have the welcome mat). If it works when it gets to the starting position instead of the charging dock then I can just have it pull far enough back to keep out of the elements/direct sun.
Yes I have heard of this but I I've never seen an example of how It's actually done. There is a person on the Reddit group that has 3D fabricated a holder that attaches by the rear wheels. That seems like an easier process
You can also use Yellow Caution Tape and cut it into triangle or whatever shape you want and just put the Air Tag in it and then on the back of the mower or wherever you want it to be.. I have an Air Tag on my Kobalt Lawn Mower for 5 years nows. If it should fall off , it is also easier to find, but mine has never fallen off, and only had to replace the battery once in 5 years.
Rather than add height, could have dug away 3 inches of soil, with a slope, kind of an underground parking spot ? Could be an issue if rain flooded it I guess, but could work if there was some suitable drainage. Great idea though :)
I just ordered on Amazon for $85 -PawHut Wicker Dog Shelter with Wheels, Portable Outdoor Animal Shelter - Rattan Dog Shelter Info: Overall Dimensions: 38.6" W x 26.8" D x 31.1" H. Coverage Dimensions: 31.9" W x 26" D. . It will keep the direct sunlight off of it, and looks like I can leave off a piece or two to accommodate the Robot Mower. And leave off the caster wheels if I need to put in ground,, Also put a potted plant or two around it on the side
I see 3 different luba models are they all the same size with different batteries? With a thousand dollars difference from cheapest to most expensive does that mean when you buy a replacement battery it will be a thousand dollars ?
Great idea. Better than the factory one. I’m going to do this as well. Thanks.
I try to do things as cheap as possible, sometimes it works out in my favor sometimes not 😂
Very good idea, way better than those fancy products 👍
Very nice, a lot better than the official garage
Crazy, you're a genius! Thanks for saving us lots of money!

Yeah, I was just looking and Home Depot sells one that’s a little larger all the way around for $45 after tax so I went with that one.
Drywall screws........good for everything lol....Great idea BTW
Literally everything! 😆
Awesome. I am designing a 3d printed garage for mine

Looks as good as the real thing.
Our property is not fenced at all. Worried about someone stealing it. It would be nice to have a storage unit that can be locked at night.
Awesome idea. Does it hinder any signals or RTK reception on the Luba if covered.
@@rkbest9783 Not if it's plastic.
Great idea 👍
Thank you! 😊

the rain sensor doesn't seem to work on mine. It mows in full thunderstorms all the time lol
@@Crazypostman Sounds like a good topic for another Luba video. Shouldn't it work as advertised?

Being under a deck probably won't work. GPS signal will be too weak
I had mine up against a brick wall and I had to move it out about 6 ft because it wouldn't work next to the house either
Off topic but I see your content on Reddit a lot. My question have you seen people putting AirTags in the tires? If so how. Thanks.

(I boght the HD window bay) I was wondering what you do when Luba wants a human to press the Start button?

Only the smallest luba 1000 has a smaller battery The 3000 and the 5,000 have the same battery
great
