It comes off as telling people that they don't really exist when they can't actually make an important part of themselves in the game

I’m starting to see EA really stepping their game up now that they have competition coming into the industry. For years it was just the sims so EA sort of cut back on what the community wanted. Now paralives is in production bringing way more to the base game instead of expansion packs and stuff packs the sims offers which is more than EA has done with any Sims game ever has done with any games.

@@mrs.g.35 The production has sped up with paralives, the more they show off on what’s to come in their base game is making EA give us the customers what we have been asking for now after 100 years of begging. It isn’t a bad thing it’s a good thing for us the consumer. Be smart and think before you throw shade for likes. The sims has been the only game in this genre of gaming so they’ve only given us what they want to have and they became money hungry by taking things out of the base game to make expansion and stuff packs. The stuff packs have items that should be in base game. Because of Paralives production this is making EA finally throw things at us in game that we want and should have had!! Thank you for your time and unwarranted shade!

Other than that, I am excited for the update, especially the new skin tones and platforms! I do feel like the sentiment system is a bit raw and hope they will continue improving it with future updates.

Everyone hyped about platforms. I’m hyped about sentiments. Anything that broaden and makes the sims more realistic makes me happy
This update actually makes me want to play the sims 4. I have been just building and creating sims for some time I hope the team keeps moving in this direction, If they figure a way to fix the game the sims 4 could become a good life simulator.

I really like the "sentiments" feature. Sims who have an emotional history and who you have some indication of whether they genuinely like each other or not will be great! The folds around the mouth is nice. I would like those kinds of skin details around the eyes also as well as acne and hyperpigmentation. Showing the range aging and skin details increases my immersion when I play.
I wish EA charged way less for sims, even if for just a day each pack was £5

I hope in the future they will add a shopping overhaul for retails, I really wish my sim to have some sort of clothes selection thing from the start (which we'll able to control or randomize it as we like), then when we started playing our sims won't have every CAS items unlocked already, and we can buy them over time... Like in Sims 2, you'll only have the clothes from the sets you've chosen when creating your sims in CAS at the first time... I really miss the happiness from doing shopping which is not achievable from sims 4 right now..
Yes! I missed that from sims and sims 2. It made you want to play and spend simoleons. I like the complexity. .....and if the robbers can come back 😂 they were a handle full but at least it made you not forget to put a security system in your house 😂
@@DDXP1 omg yes the robber as well!! He's one of the trouble if you put "expensive thing" or some moderately ones and forgot to have a security system.. That feeling of danger, it feels so good even though he's the one causing our sims troubles 😂

@@sophiapatterson1468 yeah in simella video I don’t remember what it’s called she shows some of the new walls and general overhaul edit and you can put practically any clothes on the manikins so I believe it should work with the new clothes from snowy escape plus depending on what you have there’s stuff in the icream and tiny living in the resort pack and the one where you can get massages that you could fiddle with and turn them into parts of the retail there’s also a lot of hidden items you can also sell books and toys I think some of the potted plants can be sold and the candles and decoration type stuff do depends on what yuh are going fir there’s also tons of new furniture also
Okay so first they gave a free jacuzzi when the sims 4 existed 20 years. We bought Perfect Patio for that. Now they’re gonna give snow when we bought Seasons for that and then they are gonna give vacations for free even thought we had to buy Outdoor Retreat for that??? When are they gonna give us stores and restaurants for free??
As a broke person who only has base game I’m happy, but that’s pretty messed up you spend $40 for some features then later on they give it for free.

@@mathijs8400 haha yeah I don’t even play sims 4 that much anyway, I mostly play sims 3 now cause I have more expansion packs and also the gameplay is way more fun. If I play sims 4 I only build and make sims, and if I play in live mode I just use mods and kill sims.

I don't think seasons and this new pack are the same thing. All of the worlds have weather. And if it was just an update to seasons would you just want to pass up all the new build objects, world, cas items, etc?

Im pretty happy about the vacation world, I cant imagine where else It would look good besides Sulani, but this is still exciting.
(The more I think about it, San Myshuno's penthouse or the Windenburg island might be good. I can imagine windenburg a nice place to get away and do some artistic discovery or relaxing. And san myshuno a lovers get away, have some fun night life and some dates.)
But in Sulani I feel like I can finally do something with that lot that has that crashed boat site :D

Or ya know, someone who lives in the city could go on a getaway to Brindelton bay. A quiet pretty place to rent a vacation home. Especially best having seasons and when it's fall...it's so pretty. And yeah widenburg is great too.
@@kaitlynlorentzen4375 True! What a sleeper world! I know it came with Pets Xpansion but it really does have that perfect pet vibe so going on vacation to Brindleton with your pet is perfect. I can imagine a writer taking their dog to Brindleton and just getting some work done, finishing his/her novels :P

i wish sims 4 added more things for toddlers to do like in sims 2 and 3 you can take the babies out of the bassinet and not just that the toddlers you could teach them how to walk and what not also you were able to make the babies bottles . i just wish there was more things for babies and toddlers also kids there’s not much you can do with them :(
it would be fun for the game and other sims fans not just that i wish there was more hair color options and eye colors maybe this comment can be an idea for future sims 4 updates or pack idea
For build mode and CAS we should at least get sliders for colors or have something similar to sims 2 build mode where you mix and match the swatches.
The hair colours are so lacklustre! I just want to give my sims purple hair without it being custom stuff. Guess that’s too much to ask huh?

Love all of these new features. I have so many beautiful vacant houses. Now finally, I can have my sims rent to stay for a their vacations instead of creating new households for those houses and training the sims' skills all over again.

Yesss! I was trying to build a split-level living room recently, and it was not working. Now, I’m going to be able to do it with platforms!! 😍👍👏
Split- levels will definitely be better with the platforms and we won’t have to delete a floor and at an entire staircase

It’s a pain to actually do. Especially when you want to modify it. You have to have a nice size foundation, make a room where you want it, delete the floor, then delete the walls. Gotta have stairs to travel the room . I had trouble with making a multi level house (was trying to recreate something like mine) yet the foundation kept adjusting to the same height!
Okay, now the question is: Can ladders attach to platforms? And can the "walls"/sides be removed to act as a floating platform/overhang?
It would be cool to build proper 1-storey buildings with loft areas. If not, that's fine. At least there's a base-game ladder.

@@DjurrenArt just build the platform at the next building tier/floor. I made something like that in one of my builds where i made a cat walk inside of a factory-turned-cat-sanctuary. (But without this new platform update)

@FlyingMonkies325 bruh, it’s not that deep, and not everyone plays the same way you do. I use cheats all the time, so if I want a second vacation home, there’s no reason I shouldn’t be able to get one.
I would like to do that too, because if I remember correctly you could buy more than one house in TS3, but I could be wrong

@FlyingMonkies325 "y'all wanted realistic" well yes and owning multiple properties is still realistic lol that's the point. managing the bills for both is appealing to some of us. that is precisely the type of nuance us realistic players are asking for. wanting the game to have features that mimic real life doesn't just mean a relatable lifestyle experience. sims make too much money without mods anyway, purchasing real estate and having to manage payments like in sims 3 would be great.

I really want a better computer so one day my mom can play the sims and run it smoothly. She used to nonstop play the Sims 2 and somewhat the Sims 3 but she has always wanted to try the Sims 4. I never wanted to give her a bad version of it because my laptop can't run it too well but I'd love to let her try one day.
I think she'd still have fun with it, even if you've had to turn down the graphics settings.

I mean, the whole point of custom content is that it's not official content put out by EA - they're not responsible for it, whether it's good and something we wish was included in the game, or if it's broken. If it is broken, that's up to the individual creators of the cc to fix, not the creators of the game.

@FlyingMonkies325 nope apparently it’s the game there’s loads of people with the same issue. My laptop isn’t old it’s a predator and it run the game amazingly then just stopped
@FlyingMonkies325 I have zero mods or cc now seen as I re started the game as a whole new set up with reformatting my laptop. I’m currently trying to get help from ea answers hq just hoping they can do something because it’s still unplayable
Have you tried deleting the cache in Origin? Here's a guide on how to do it: help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/

This update is so exciting, the platforms and new half wall sizes are awesome. Looking forward to have my Sims go n holiday to Sulani, Windenburg and Brindleton Bay. Sentiments are going to be a great addition to gameplay, the Sims will have more personality now 😁 The Sim profiles look so much better 😁

@11:28 it seems like if there will no longer be a distinction between vacation and residential in the map maybe it will be possible.. but I haven't been able to find it clearly anywhere that this will be possible so I think @setzer35 is likely correct. It's very disappointing that they wouldn't make that possible for us. You'd think that flexibility would not have been extra work on EAs part since they are already adding lot type freedom to the other worlds.. I get that those worlds are game pack and not expansion ones but still disappointing

oh my, the Sims team seems to finally be coming together. I love the sentiments and mostly the platforms! that's better than constrainfloorelevation! I'm glad to see some real improvements and then the new CAS features coming soon, I'm just glad to see it!

This is an issue they need to fix fast, it’s happening on all platforms. In 3 days they have their last expansion pack coming out, if this isn’t a fixed issue I don’t see a lot of people purchasing something they can not play. 🤬
I have EVERY pack, and I have literally uninstalled and reinstalled the entire game THREE times today on my PS4. (Also, I have played this game with my saved files and without, yet I still get CE-34878-0 on my screen). I have NEVER had this issue with the Sims 4 until I downloaded the new Version 1.33. I even tried playing the Sims 4 w/out the newest update (of course, I knew I wouldn’t be able to play but I had to try anything). This is ridiculous, I am not getting assistance from any forum or chat to find what else I can do. It’s on live or build mode, it’s so random when my PS4 crashes.
When the sims go on vacation do they automatically go on vacation from school/work? Also, if they want to go on vacation for 2 days would they need to have 2+ days available for vacation?
Yes, and yes. The available vacation days will automatically get deducted. If they run out of days and do not return, it will negatively affect school/work performance.
So technically, they don't HAVE to have the 2 vacation days but it will affect performance if they don't.

I'm wondering if you use the half walls to outline your platform, will the sims still be able to step over them? Because essentially they're walls and logic dictates you can't go through walls obviously. Maybe someone knows the answer.
James Turner showed in his Bar build for this pack that using a half wall means Sims cannot walk over it. He uses this to help with the routing of Sims to a stage area he had created :)

He says it in the video: they usually release free patches/updates within one or two days the week of a new expansion pack. Snowy Escape expansion is released November 13th, so expect it around that week.

I am looking forward to trying the platforms to make a sweeping staircase in a mansion. In build mode I hope they bring out round rooms. With the new rental, I can think about making some kind of self catering lodge holiday location. Though I do hope they will do hotels like the Sims 3.

Just get Ravasheen's CC over on TSR. He has working bunk beds (and for quite some time now).
Or atleast better loft beds

The platforms will be really great for making movie rooms! I tried to make one a while ago but it just didn’t look the same without the slight platform that lots of movie rooms have
