@@adri.c4 Yeah, unless they have gameplay bugs on the level of NAPs, I don't think Snowy Escape is going to have any trouble selling. ESPECIALLY this holiday season, even though it won't be on sale (since it's brand new.) I'm deeply tempted to get it this year but I'm still gonna wait for some actual reviews before biting the bullet. :D

I love the grandparents living with the granddaughter, because I've been living with my grandma this year! It's so nice to see a less 'traditional' family reflected in the game
Right? I was raised by my grandparents and growing up I rarely saw our family type represented. This just makes me more excited for this pack!
I feel like non-traditional sim families are the funnest to play! Like blended families and single parent houses.

I think it makes a lot of sense for this type of setting as well, mountainous village turned ski resort, the parents have most likely moved to the city to find work and provide for the family.

Probably a strategic choice. They knew the Star Wars one was going to bomb, so they decided to give people something they want after (to lessen the blow). It’s a bit like getting caressed by the hand that slapped you. XD

I currently have two version of my sim's everyday outfit, one with shoes and one without so that I can take off my shoes when I get into my house. I'm so glad it's part of the gameplay now.
I think they're making it an option where you can just have your sims take off their shoes without needing another outfit (at least that's what I gathered from Simlicy's video). I'm really excited! :D

I love how positive lilsimsie is about her own builds, in a lot of videos she's her own worst critique. But this one is so positive an the builds are incredible! And the opportunity is amazing.

She just fishes for compliments that way. It's the reverse psychology when she 'doubts' herself.
It’s normal to want validation for the things you create. Whether or not you like something you create, anxiety can cause you to doubt your abilities and be too hard on yourself.
If you don’t want to compliment someone’s work, then don’t. But don’t act like someone’s wrong for hoping people like their work and vocalize that.
@@CocoMocax that’s not true, have you ever genuinely not been 100% pleased with something you do? she never says “overall this build was horrible” she instead says things like, “i really do like this build just that bedroom was a little weird.” have you ever written an essay and told someone “i definitely could have written my thesis a little better?” getting compliments probably didn’t come to your mind, so why is she suddenly fishing for compliments?
@@CocoMocax I know a lot of people do that but for some reason I never feel like that when Kayla does it. She genuienly seems to be umcomfortable complimenting herself. But in this video it's great that she sees her skills.

sorry but that's not sweet or considerate at all. It's her job. The lack of though and research is what put EA in an awkward, but avoidable, position with their korean players
Honestly, watching the trailer, I was like "hum...those houses look so much prettier than usual" so I'm not surprised they asked content creators to do them! :)

I live in the Netherlands and most people I know dont stricktly take 9ff their shoes in theirbhouse eighter. It's quite weird to ask your friends to do that here in my experience

I can see that she researched a lot of stuff but somehow her lots don't look too traditional on the inside. I love the husks and the insides are nice but missing a bit of that traditional element in my eyes.
@@Luxenya the sims are quite geared towards american styled homes and architecture which I understand is because that's where the sims originated and the game goes a long way to add culture-
But the build mode is severely held back in creating traditional home architectures for many cultures in a simple way.
Kayla deserves an Oscar for her reactions to the build stuff in the trailers while she already knew full well what was in it😂

I never comment on RUclips, but I just had to compliment you on how elegant, sophisticated, thoughtful, and functional these builds are. You can really tell that you did your research both on the interior and exterior, and it really seems like you pushed yourself with these homes. In the end, you did such an amazing job and I believe these builds will really be cherished

i feel like this video truly showcases kayla's talent.. the lots she built are quite different than her usual style (middle-class american suburban house) but she managed to do it so well. she was still very creative with the interior designs and holy crap i'm so freaking impressed

I liked looking at the houses, but honestly, I was looking at Kayla being excited and happy. Seeing her so smiley and proud to be in the game warmed my heart so much. She deserves so much and I wish I could tell her how happy I feel seeing her ❤️

Omg, I just had an idea: What if you and the other RUclipsrs that collabed on this project, had a separate collab where you all build different sections of a house, and then put it all together?! Idk if this has already been done, but it'd be such a cool video to see all your different creativity packed into one house! Also for ex: someone does the shell of the house, another does exterior/landscaping, someone does interior, someone does decor; something like that :)

I’ve never been this excited for a pack. I feel like i’ll be able to connect with this pack so much because it comes from the community. We voted for snow activities, the builds are amazing because game changers got the opportunity to build them, and more. It feels like the sims team and ea took our criticism and did something great with it. I hope this pack isn’t a one time thing, i hope they will do the same things with upcoming packs. Sims 4 is starting to feel worthy of the status of being my favorite game.

It's incredible to think about. The weirdest thing is, I usually hate big mansions and I much prefer minimalistic small homes. But her mansion build paired with her starter home build makes me want to play a story where my sim works hard enough to buy that mansion. I honestly think that EA never intended to do this, but then when they came up with the idea to create a Japanese styled world they felt the need to bring in sims players and builders just so that they didn't get obliterated by the internet for doing a terrible job at capturing the culture. I can only imagine how happy Japanese players are with this choice EA made.

this was one of the best ideas they had: calling real simmers to build incredible lots in the game instead of leaving the buildings empty and poorly decorated. Praying to release an update doing this with all the other worlds (and maybe calling some Brazilian simmers too lol)

It’s actually not super uncommon for siblings to share rooms in Japan.
Growing up my husband (Japanese) had his own room as the oldest child but his brother and sister shared a room.

I used counters(with T.O.O.L. and Terrain editing) to do that once but I never finished the build
I just got this pack and thought, “wow, ea really stepped up their building quality.” I had no idea game changers actually built for the pack. It makes so much more sense now. Good job!

OMG i’m so happy for you. That’s so cool. Having you build the lots was a great idea! I’m really excited especially because I normally struggle with exteriors.
I'm a huge nerd for anime and had a phase as a teen when I loved everything about Japan and wanted to learn everything about it, so watching this video got me soooo excited. I loved your builds, you can really tell you spent a bunch of time researching Japanese architecture to make them feel more authentic.
My favourite has to be the grandparents' home though, I particularly liked the use of platforms to shape the living area downstairs and the stone floors in the kitchen and bathrooms. Can you tell I'm really excited to build with this pack?
OMG. First of all: Finally there are some GOOD pre-build.
Second: Am I correct in assuming, that this world is for holiday AND for living? Like, you can actually live there, but you can also just spend your holidays there and live somewhere else?
You can rent lots there to live in for a bit and then go back to your own home :)

These builds look so nice! Congrats on the opportunity Simsie, you killed it!
Without minimizing the hard work that you and the other simmers put into these builds, though, I am disappointed that EA didn't use this pack as an opportunity to collaborate with Asian simmers. I think that would have been a really cool touch and would have given some opportunities to those who know these kinds of styles more intimately in their everyday life.
Editing to add in this, because I think it's important to mention: even though EA fell short in not offering a chance to Asian simmers to work on this world, I am so grateful that Kayla so obviously did such careful research into Japanese houses and how they are typically set up. It definitely shines through in her builds and I appreciate that!

while i know this is maybe an issue in Sims, we _do_ actually have doors like this in my (very snowy) area, on older farmhouses especially. we actually call them Vermont doors 😹. it's usually the front door, it's built at foundation height with no steps leading up, and it's not actually used? instead, you enter through a side door, into either the kitchen or a mud room.
(edit: just saw the bit you're referring to. that's definitely a thing you see in some houses even now, interior doors that you step _up_ into bc the next room is on a higher level! it looks a bit odd, both in game + irl, but i'm gonna try to assume kayla/the team have tested everything and made sure it works)

You could always add a platform on the bedroom side of the door if it bothers you.

So proud of you! I started playing Sims as a suggestion from my son, who knew I liked building and character creation. So, of course, been hooked ever since. I've been subscribed to you for a long time, as you always walk me along gameplay and build tips. You've definitely outdone yourself with these builds! And yes, sometimes I don't like bigger lots (filling them), but you have done superb on this, I love, love, love! You should be super proud. This is every builder's dream. You go girl!!!!!

@@lishan4657 no one has mentioned her builds yet because she is the only one of the 4 that hasn't uploaded her builds yet. I haven't watched her builds before but I subscribed to her channel today
@@lishan4657 Maybe that's somewhat true. It must also be a factor that she is not as widely known yet, so some people might have heard her name for the first time and can't recall it easily. To see it in a less negative way: it will likely give a giant boost of reach for her! I will check her channel out. But it's hard to tell if people do it on purpose or it was an honest mistake.

From one Simmer to another, these homes that you helped build are top-notch in my opinion! At this very moment, I'm helping my Sim get ready for his excursion to Mt. Komorebi, and I'm definitely looking forward to checking out all these lots in (virtual) reality. Maybe I'll try your starter home, and renovate it a bit myself to my Sim's tastes.

This is freaking amazing. The regular Sims houses and community lots have always been really boring, now I know for sure the houses will look amazing.
And by the way, Kayla said she wanted the house to blend in with the rest of the neighborhood, but she made it look way better than the rest of the neighborhood

wow simsie! im very thankful that you actually did the research into what traditional japanese houses look like because i would have been very disappointed if it looked not on theme. also the builds look so sleek and sophisticated!
