Maybe it’s a lot to ask, but I’d like to see Kayla build this again with packs. The Vampire pack and Get Famous have some amazing items to truly bring this building to life.
It makes me think of a historical castle that has been remodeled as a museum/destination wedding venue/air b&b. You stay there, wedding party to either side on that 2nd floor, maybe family. Then after the wedding you sleep in the fancy top bedroom!
Yeah the problem is that these type of lots don't seem to work properly with different layouts, NPC's just kinda stand outside not knowing where to go 😢 it happened to me with highschool lot

I would love to see the same video again but with all the packs I feel like if you are going to buy a kit chances are you already have some expansion game packes etc too not just the base game. I loved the idea of a castle wedding venue but I am so bored of using the same base game super fancy furnitures all the time.

i felt overwhelmed by this building too so i after i added it to my game, i quickly abandoned it. maybe it would be a cool community center? or make apartments out of it... okay now i have too many ideas.
You mentioned the tip for adding wall trim to 1 wall at a time by pressing shift while you click. But did you know the same works when removing it so you wouldn't have to go back and put it back on the exterior walls. Just press shift while removing the trim.
I think it'd be really cool to use this kit to build an old castle that is now a museum / event space, like the bedrooms were kept how they would have been when the castle was originally built, but there's modern kitchens because it's used for parties, i think that's a good way to meld the modern and the historical and still have it make sense (and you could put little velvet ropes in front of doors like museums do)
I downloaded this lot too. I don't have the Castle Kit, but found I could still keep it pretty castle-y with some of the Jungle Adventure exterior details and Jungle Adventure + base game furniture. And then I used the free Romantic Garden items to add detail to the gardens.
U should do what you were saying in the other video where you use a rlly big lot and make a little castle on it and a bunch of little village houses it would be so cute and we aren't bored of the castle builds
Edited: I love Simsie's videos, and this was a ton of fun to watch. The following is my frustration with EA and the Sims team, not Lilsimsie. Its incredible to me that even after all these years, the Sims team STILL hasn't fixed the stairs clipping. Why can't we choose to only add railing to one side of the stairs? Why is it no smart enough to change railings to be just wall handles when stairs are touching a wall? And the friezes still being buggy? I don't want 10 new expansions, packs, and kits every year, I want the game to function. Currently, to own all Sims 4 expansions (without sales/bundling), packs, and kits, it takes ~$1000. One thousand dollars y'all. And we still have this buggy mess. I'm about ready to give up, its just a money suck. Sims is the fast fashion of the gaming world. All fast churn and FOMO marketing tactics to get you to spend more money on things that should have been included from the beginning.
This kit was such a missed opportunity for like ballroom spaces or extravagant ballroom dances at your castle or lavish masquerade parties...that would've been amazing :(
i feel like the castle kit would be good for another 3 versions build project. like maybe it's a smaller size castle and the first version is medieval/ traditional, second version is abandoned (possibly inhabited by mystical creatures?) and third version is someone renovated an old castle to make it a house in modern day
i didn’t get the hype of this pack in the beginning but now i absolutely love it. it reminds me of my favourite shows merlin and reign. i’d love to see a medieval expansion pack with actual king and queen and servants! too bad i don’t think we’re getting it like ever
I think it would be so phenomenal if you started going crazy with bathrooms for 2024, I think the stinky bathrooms you did were so fun, but even just getting out of the all white bathroom and just putting random decor in there so they’re not so cookie cutter would be such a great way to channel some of the simsie chaos in a fun way!
i think it would be cool if you built a house or some other type of lot backwards (for example.. furniture first and walls last) but with a twist that you can’t move anything after you placed walls

Someone should do this in the style of a National Trust property - have some old style rooms with little roped off sections, and then have a gift shop and a cafe with an obnoxious modern kitchen 😂

I've been working on this and my only theme is to pick everything with a reference to Princess Cordelia, her pirate boyfriends, the Eppsilon, Bob the Butler, or the Great Sloth Invasion. It's overwhelming and I’m so jealous of how quickly you got the floorplan done. Your floorplan is exactly what I wanted but didn't achieve.

Medieval expansion pack… Imagine if you had to go back in time to get there… things start to glitch in your world … houses start to disappear or go fuzzy… and then you get through by going through a rabbit hole and there’s a whole quest you need to fix or solve… to become king or queen and overthrow the ruler?? Plague as the new death…

Like, servant’s quarters hidden next to the royalty quarters, and servant’s staircases and a throne room such… like Downton Abbey vibes, or BBC’s Merlin show, you know? Then you could like, rent out the servants’ quarters and then play as the servants and the royalty separately… I don’t know. Good idea? Maybe. Would it actually work? No idea 🤔
Kayla, idk if you know this but you can change the lighting without a sim inside the lot. Hold shift while clicking on an already placed light and the lighting color wheel should pop up
I really wish there were more builds that were JUST exteriors, so I could completely go inside and mess with furniture and layout and everything. Yeah I can gut an unfurnished house, but it's a lot more steps and I tend to accidentally delete things :(
Maybe this is an old castle that someone has renovated. Like maybe a castle that’s been in the family for generations and they have updated it with semi-modern appliances.
I immediately want to go and open up a large space in the centre of the levels, add a pool and create a "hanging gardens" type castle omg I absolutely would love to see Kayla do this challenge again with the addition of packs because this turned out great but there are so many awesome things in packs that BG lacks!
I know you want to make the builds more accessible for download, but I feel like it would be more enjoyable to see you build without pack limitations. The builds then live up to their potential and you don't have to struggle with only one pack and base game or something like that. I loved the build!!
i feel like if the sims allowed walls to have different thickness options, that would fix so much. and it could even have some fun gameplay situations! like having thin walls can let sims hear certain things while thicker ones prevent it, thicker walls hide clipping stair rails, etc.
Have you thought about doing a categories challenge where you build a house based off of the category images? Like a house that looks like the house for the housing category image, a kitchen that looks like the kitchen category image etc. I think you'd do really good with it and it would be fun.

Kayla, are Windows users able to shift-click lights in build mode to change light colors/intensity without moving in a Sim? I'm on Mac, but it's made it so streamlined to adjust the lighting and atmosphere
I actually really like these kinds of builds, too. I CAN build exteriors if I go grab reference material, but it's sometimes the longest part of a build, so... I skip that XD My castle playthrough actually used a lot I found on the gallery that was legit dead empty on the inside. It also had no landscaping, but I fixed that myself. I'm VERY slowly decorating it over time, and I adore it. I did also add a barn in the courtyard space. It was a lot easier for me.

I like shell challenges like this! It’s more realistic to what a renovation would be like. I do think stairs should have been put in to make it more realistic. In a real renovation/remodel you’d probably have to work around the stairs.
Haven't finished watching yet, but the larger guest rooms could include space for children, so they could stay with their parents. Not all weddings are kids free :)
I found if you want to use the motherlode cheat an easier way instead of constantly typing it in. If you close the cheat bar and reopen it to not hit a different cheat, type it once, hit the up arrow, then hit enter to save time, and only type it once.
Im doing this, with a catch, Im not using the pack (castle pack, cause I dont have it) so Im using get together, get to work, base game, cats & dogs, discover university & get famous to decorate it!

Create a Spa with a large yoga studio, a sauna, a hot tub, a swimming pool, and an Onsen.
You could do an apartment with lots of amenities like a spa, gym, market etc! First floor little shops!

That would explain why they hire it out as a venue, too! These old homes are expensive in upkeep and utility bills! This is the most British thing!

Im doing this, with a catch, Im not using the pack (castle pack, cause I dont have it) so Im using get together, get to work, base game, cats & dogs, discover university & get famous to decorate it!
