The key to Chinese hotpot is that you have to add a variety of meats and ingredients into the broth as it simmers! This way, the broth slowly soaks up all the essence of the ingredients as you cook them, and the broth becomes way more flavourful :)
I love how simple, accurate and respectful description of the different places/activities that you both tried. As a Singaporean, I enjoyed the description and learnt something new too. :)
It's always such a treat to see my home country through the eyes of another! Thank you for showcasing parts of Singapore that I don't think most regular Singaporeans do!
Heh, yeah, when we stayed in Singapore for a month, we didn't even come close to scratching the surface. I loved taking random trains, getting off random stops, and getting lost. Serangoon is very underrated, I wish more travel vloggers would show it. And where we stayed, Punggol, was awesome. It was quieter, but still had good food just a five minute walk from our airbnb in Punggol Plaza. Man, we would totally live in Singapore, if we could.
“even though we were actually the late-late night birds, with the rising sun, we were suddenly two of the earliest of birds” this is such a bar actually! idk why it struck me like that😭
Seeing Hoju Sara was bitter sweet. I think of her from time to time and it’s nice seeing her memory kept alive on your videos. I used to live in Malaysia and so would visit Singapore a lot, such a vibrant and fun city!
In Türkiye they say you should drink hot tea when the weather is hot because it evens out the difference in temperature inside and outside and you feel better. So the hot soup on a hot day hack makes sense to me 😅
Singapore is extremely high in humidity. Our perceived temperature might be above 40°C, day to day. I think drinking hot drinks on a hot day will literally 💀 us as we perpetually sweat.
Yes! In China on a visit with my dad, we drank hot tea in a little hut with open windows, as the breeze blew in and we drank our hot tea my body cooled off. Such a wonderful experience.
@buninthewind i don't necessarily believe the science of it all, but its always worked for me even in humid conditions. It doesn't really have to do with humidity or dryness. Its just about evening out the ambient temperature inside and out.
omg that short clip of Safiya with HojuSara in Korea… rest in love Sara. i miss watching her vlogs so much. everytime i see her clips i get reminded of how we should treasure our loved ones before we lose them forever. seeing this comment section shows how loved she was. such a sweet lovely person she was on YT. ❤ waiting for more vlogs in SG Safiya!! hope you visit the local neighbourhoods and not just around the touristy places. a lot of good eateries in the heartlands.
While I don't have any city/town to recommend in particular for an allnighter, I do suggest you try one somewhere in the Nordics in late June. _The sun doesn't set._
I love Jimin’s sharp radiant voice blasting in the background of prawn catching as Safiya and Tyler are just trying not to pass out from this dimension 🤣🤣
I think you'd have fun checking out Chongqing city. A city built in multiple levels, a subway that goes through apartments, a restaurant with an AI robot (or a really talented woman who plays an AI robot). I'm always in for more Korean content, so Seoul would be fun, too!
Ooo yes! I moved to Chongqing last year and had 0 idea it even existed. It would be so cool to see it get some attention, since it’s such a hidden (and spicy) gem!
The clip of ya’ll visiting the spa and including the one with HojuSara made me really happy. Thank you for remembering her and including that spa trip in this video 💛💛
This is such a fun idea! I think it would be super cool for y'all to try this in Vegas. It would be interesting to see what you guys come up with outside of the usual drinking and gambling that people tend to associate with the city c:
Mustafa is how I explain Costco to people that have never been to Costco. Like I can buy a new phone, air conditioner, shoes, groceries, glasses, TV, skin care, and get my tires rotated all in one trip.
The real test is how well did you sleep afterwards and how well did you get back 'on schedule' afterwards? Great video Safiya! Thanks for the content! Loved the weird endless mall of the Mustafa Centre.
as a person born and raised in philly, hearing references to places i know and have personally been to, like KOP, will never not cause whiplash after hearing it being talked about in such a casual manner
as a singaporean malaysian (yes we exist) im glad yall are exploring the motherland(s)!! singapore and malaysia has a… complex relationship and im glad yall r giving credit when credit is due(wow yall research alot) ! hope you enjoy this little slice of south east asia! 😝
I love both countries! We only stayed in Kuala Lumpur for a week, totally not long enough, but the food was TOP NOTCH. Our airbnb host took us to a few local places, and now I am drooling remembering the food hahah. But we stayed in Singapore for a month. Even in the Punggol neighborhood, you can find some awesome stuff. Hell, the Indian food place in the cafeteria in Punggol Plaza was just incredible. I miss both countries!!!!
It's such a beautiful view, but I'm afraid of heights, so I was watching trying to decide if it would be the coolest thing to do, or the most terrifying. I'd be afraid if there was a lot of activity in the water, you'd bob right over the edge... 😬
lol, it's such a funny illusion. The visitor(people that were not staying there, but still wanted to see that sight) deck is under it, if I remember right. So looking at it straight on, it's trippy. But if you're hanging over the edge, the visitor viewing deck is under. I'm not sure if that deck is 360 degrees. It's funny, we weren't staying there, but a friend we had randomly made on the purple line of the subway, said people a lot of the time just sneak up. The visitor deck has its own elevator that goes up to the 55th floor, but if you have a room key to access the guest elevator, OR, if you sneak in, following a gaggle of Japanese tourists like we did, you can go up to the 57th floor, heheheheh. We couldn't actually get INTO the pool area, because you would have to scan your room key card again, and we didn't want to push our luck lol.
This reminds me of when I went to Singapore for the first time. I met a stranger the day before I had to fly back home. We stayed up all night walking aimlessly, resting on bus stops, listening to distant karaoke singers as we settled on a park bench waiting for the dawn to break. It was one of my fondest travel memories, and the reason why I will always remember Singapore with a hint of nostalgia.
I had found Hoju Sara during those videos from Safiya and watched her religiously:.. just seeing these clips are still so difficult and bittersweet to watch. She shared her beautiful life and personality with us and I’m so grateful to have witnessed it ❤😢
I've been having some health scares lately and riddled with anxiety, but a video from Safiya immediately helps to calm my nerves and refocus 🙏🏻❤️ thank you Safiya for always being wholesome and calming
As someone who used to work long uneventful boring night shifts i can safely say that I don't miss them. I don't like feeling as if I'm coming down with a cold.
I found you again‼️ I am older and not terribly internet savvy. I watch a woman who is kinda like you and it made me realize I was not seeing you for a while. Glad to see you are doing well and still taking us on wonderful adventures! ❤

I absolutely love Singapore, my cousin lives there. And im based in Aus. But I love how environmentally minded the city is when expanding and building new things, also the MRT subway is exceptional
Ironically, I recently pulled an all nighter while working on a project and had Safiya videos on in the background while I worked. It really helped keep me sane during the process!
Kudos! This is the best travel vlog of Singapore I have ever watched! So much fun to do an all nighter! It used to be more fun pre covid as there are more 24 hour places. Also, my friends and I used to go Mustafa after clubbing and one time one of us ended buying $2K worth of speakers lol. That place is an abyss.
I would happily watch Safiya and Tyler travel around the world together, eating, shopping and fishing as they went. ❤ This video definitely made me want to go to Singapore, though if Saf is suffering the heat, I probably stand no chance😅
I’m new to your channel and I appreciated your vlog. You guys did a lot of research and planning, and were very witty while respectful and open-minded. Loved the off-beat activities like the late night prawning. I’d love to see more of your all-nighter series!
saf’s fever dream prawn fishing while disassociating with katy perry playing in the background was peak comedy 😂 and the infinity pool moment, oh wow😻 also the mega all-in-one mall: my haul would’ve been larger than that 😂😂
Same. I don't understand why they did this (I mean obviously it's a great video and I enjoyed it) but what was the reason for staying up till dawn? Then you go back to your hotel and sleep till...evening? That doesn't make any sense if you're staying there. Only if you're coming back.
Staying up all night and all the next day means by the time it’s the next evening you’re so tired you will sleep. The danger is that if you chicken out you mess your sleep schedule up more.
i took it as, if they're gonna have trouble falling asleep in the hotel because of jet lag, they might as well go outside and have fun. the caveat is that you're also gonna have to stay up from 7am to at least, maybe 5pm so you don't mess up your sleep schedule even further.
when i heard you were going to SEA i was hoping it was vietnam. it's a bit of a shame but thank you both for bringing great quality content. hope you guys have a happy and prosperous new year
I would love if you did this in an African country! Examples being; South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, etc! There are so many beautiful countries in Africa that are often either looked down on or just ignored totally. Would love to see you guys on a safari (:
Nice sentiment but probably never gonna happen. The American government has a list of how safe a country is to visit. All the countries that Americans usually visit are 1 on the list. Kenya and South Afeica are 2's Nigeria is a 3. And the 4s are usually countries they're at war with. While I would love for them to visit South Africa, because I know my home Is a wonderful place, we are looked down upon. Even if Americans don't know of US travel advisory list, the countries with 2 or higher are not countries that they perceive favourabley.
@@IAMMEEP I really don't get it. If Americans/Europeans get themselved into trouble while travelling to less wealthy countries, the locals are always blaming them for being so stupid and naive for going to x, y and z. If we decide not to visit, then apparently that's also not to your liking and has to do wtith political propaganda (as if crime statsitics were just made up...). What now?
I was lucky enough to go to Singapore with my mom just after college. Somehow I lucked into making the time change easily by leaving the East Coast at 5 pm, taking 0 naps and arrived in Singapore the next day at like 11 pm and just passed out immediately. Woke up having mostly made the time change. This was a fun nostalgic video to watch for me! 😁
I lived in Singapore for a year, but never experienced any of this middle of the night activities. That was a lot of fun. Also, Mustafa is crazy. I'd only go with a friend who knows where everything is and how to enter and exit using the same door.
This was great! My husband is a night shift worker, and he often struggles when we go on vacation because most tourist things are only open in the daytime. I wish there were more places open 24/7 in the U.S.!
I have really REALLY bad anxiety and insomnia, and your travel vids especially help me relax and get to a place where I can fall asleep and feel mellow, and this was dropped at the best time.
one city you might want to try an all nighter in is Madrid! I was there recently and when I got up at 6 AM to catch an early train, people had just left the club downstairs from my hotel! I had never seen so many people on the street that early in the morning
My mom had the same experience on an early morning walk in Madrid on Easter morning. These buzzed dudes we're still awake and wanted to take a selfie with her, lol.
In Spain we usually have dinner between 9 and 10 pm and we have a culture of partying a lot. 6 am to us is not the same as 6 am for the rest of the world. I do not party and still go to bed at 2 am in the weekends.
When I went to Barcelona we went on a kayak tour & planned to go out to the "disco" afterwards. We asked our tour guide what time we should hit the disco, like was midnight too late. He laughed & told us there wouldn't even be anyone at the clubs at midnight, we needed to wait until 2am (which as an American is usually around the time we're leaving the club haha). We also stuck with our American dinnertime of 6/7pmish & we're usually the only ones at the restaurant. But honestly as a night owl I really love how the Spanish operate!
I'm so happy you're uploading more again! I know on your blog you talked about struggling with your mental health and I hope it's gotten better because you deserve it and your videos have helped me with mine! 💗
This is the best traveling guid i have ever seen! Making it this compact is great, so many experiences and you only spend a night at it. More time to explore! I Loved the Gardens by the Bay, i think it was so beautiful, i really want to visit! You guys are so experimental, i love watching that!

I want to say I have successfully indoctrinated my parents and we watch your videos together the past year! It's something that brings their everyday-stress down, especially to my dad. So, thank you and keep making such great videos! Merry Christmas and happy new year!!!
24:41 Omg RIP Sara 😭 caught me off guard, but it was nice seeing her face again
What happened???
@@KitCat898Sara died couple years ago from leukemia 😢
Yes! I miss her, she was so lovely. I found her because of saf and stayed for Sara
What about DancingBacons? See a lot of Singaporean attractions/restaurants on their channel.
@@writerchick94it’s like when you get out of a hot shower and room feels colder despite the fact it’s room temperature or hotter
@Nevae_696 Idk. I tried this out and hit drinks warm me up from the inside so it made me sweat profusely and I was feeling even worse.
saf and tyler are couple goals frr no matter how sleep deprived and delirious they are, they don't get crabby at each other
This was fun!
Seeing Sara had me tearing up, but it was lovely to see her full of light and life
omg that short clip of Safiya with HojuSara in Korea… rest in love Sara. i miss watching her vlogs so much. everytime i see her clips i get reminded of how we should treasure our loved ones before we lose them forever. seeing this comment section shows how loved she was. such a sweet lovely person she was on YT. ❤
waiting for more vlogs in SG Safiya!! hope you visit the local neighbourhoods and not just around the touristy places. a lot of good eateries in the heartlands.
oh my god i didnt know she died?? thats so sad rip :(((
Yes, unfortunately she died a few years ago to her cancer (leukemia) her husband (?) made the update video about it. @kristina-wd7yw
I was searching for a comment like this. I was thinking about her just the other day.
While I don't have any city/town to recommend in particular for an allnighter, I do suggest you try one somewhere in the Nordics in late June. _The sun doesn't set._
They should go to Svalbard, Norway. Sun doesnt set from april till august aaaand theres polar bears!
The thing is that nothing is open at night here
I love Jimin’s sharp radiant voice blasting in the background of prawn catching as Safiya and Tyler are just trying not to pass out from this dimension 🤣🤣
it was such a surprise to hear Jimin's song there!
Same!! I was so surprised and happy hearing that!! 😂❤❤
I think you'd have fun checking out Chongqing city. A city built in multiple levels, a subway that goes through apartments, a restaurant with an AI robot (or a really talented woman who plays an AI robot). I'm always in for more Korean content, so Seoul would be fun, too!
I would love to see them explore Chongqing. Such a weirdplace
Seconding Chongqing!!
Ooo yes! I moved to Chongqing last year and had 0 idea it even existed. It would be so cool to see it get some attention, since it’s such a hidden (and spicy) gem!
YESSS
i love chongqing, so gorgeous and captivating!!!!
The clip of ya’ll visiting the spa and including the one with HojuSara made me really happy. Thank you for remembering her and including that spa trip in this video 💛💛
Could you give me the timestamps for those clips?

All the plane flight skincare really made Safiya's skin look great this whole video!
Yes! I was thinking she was looking extra good!
I was just thinking that!! She didn’t look tired at all🥰
This is such a fun idea! I think it would be super cool for y'all to try this in Vegas. It would be interesting to see what you guys come up with outside of the usual drinking and gambling that people tend to associate with the city c:
they do have a vegas hotel strip review! they don't seem to be into gambling themselves bc they didn't really touch on it
I felt immediately happy and sad seeing the clips with Sara. So wonderful you’ll always have those memories. ❤
I love how Tyler is always matching Safia's freak 😭
Mustafa is how I explain Costco to people that have never been to Costco. Like I can buy a new phone, air conditioner, shoes, groceries, glasses, TV, skin care, and get my tires rotated all in one trip.
The real test is how well did you sleep afterwards and how well did you get back 'on schedule' afterwards?
Great video Safiya! Thanks for the content! Loved the weird endless mall of the Mustafa Centre.
aw, I wasn't expecting to see footage of hojusara. RIP ❤
as a person born and raised in philly, hearing references to places i know and have personally been to, like KOP, will never not cause whiplash after hearing it being talked about in such a casual manner
I did a double take when I saw "Sixers Merch" in the web history during the ad portion of the vid.
as a singaporean malaysian (yes we exist) im glad yall are exploring the motherland(s)!! singapore and malaysia has a… complex relationship and im glad yall r giving credit when credit is due(wow yall research alot) ! hope you enjoy this little slice of south east asia! 😝
also i hope yall try more authentic food in malaysia singapore’s food is abit commercialised and made for tourism 😔
@@weexintbf most of the food eaten here are in central/cbd vs the heartlands so its bound to be more “touristy”
@@liyrical but tbh hawker food in Malaysia is still superior than sg (just my personal preference)
Tired of Malaysians coming in and talk down about things in singapore. Go back to a Malaysian topic video and stay there.
The infinity pool illusion literally makes my stomach drop 😭 my brain does not like how close it looks like they are to falling off the edge
literally!! i was like nooo guys you are so sleepy be careful😭😭
Love the video and so bittersweet seeing Sara. Thank you for showing her, she was a wonderful person that should be celebrated.
guys wake up, new comfort video just dropped!!
I always get emotional seeing HojuSara, thank you for continuing to show her.
What happened
@@hollybabyyyshe passed away after battling leukaemia
This reminds me of when I went to Singapore for the first time. I met a stranger the day before I had to fly back home. We stayed up all night walking aimlessly, resting on bus stops, listening to distant karaoke singers as we settled on a park bench waiting for the dawn to break. It was one of my fondest travel memories, and the reason why I will always remember Singapore with a hint of nostalgia.
I had found Hoju Sara during those videos from Safiya and watched her religiously:.. just seeing these clips are still so difficult and bittersweet to watch. She shared her beautiful life and personality with us and I’m so grateful to have witnessed it ❤😢
Never been this early to a Saf video and I am EXCITED!
Right!
Same!
I've been having some health scares lately and riddled with anxiety, but a video from Safiya immediately helps to calm my nerves and refocus 🙏🏻❤️ thank you Safiya for always being wholesome and calming
Including the clips with HojuSara made me so happy. Love her smile and her energy, I miss her so much. ❤
As someone who used to work long uneventful boring night shifts i can safely say that I don't miss them. I don't like feeling as if I'm coming down with a cold.
Working overnights is so rough on the body
I found you again‼️ I am older and not terribly internet savvy. I watch a woman who is kinda like you and it made me realize I was not seeing you for a while. Glad to see you are doing well and still taking us on wonderful adventures! ❤
there has been so much content lately i’m so jazzed
i miss sara so much, the videos with her in south korea are some of my favourite videos to rewatch but it also makes me so sad 🥲
Mustafa Centre looks just like a place I've gotten lost in in my dreams.
Also it's *impressively* neat, and can you imagine being an employee there? Having to memorize where all those aisles are O_O
This time of the year is when I visit my grandparents and put on your videos to fall asleep to. So this timing is wonderful, 12am, a new video to start off with, then off to frankencandle sleep I go
Then i am not the only one who falls asleep on their videos!! I swear when I need a nap or I am sick and I need to just lay down and relax I always watch them Safiya voice is just soo calming its perfect for falling asleep!!
@lucmuc0 yessss. Her videos are always very well balanced as well, no sudden loud screaming or anything. It's perfect for sleeping.
Omg the B&BW frakencandle is my go to sleep video too!
Not the same, but Safiya's videos comforted me through dengue fever last year and I always come back to binge whenever I'm stressed or sad
"off to frankencandle sleep I go" has to be the most relatable thing I've ever read on a YT comment, thank you! Hahaha
I’ve heard it’s a hack/belief in some Asian cultures to eat super spicy food to counteract your physical heat. and apparently it really works!! I’m sure the physical hotness of the soul works the same way. greta video!! happy holidays!! 💖
Yeah because it triggers sweating which cools down your body.
Has anyone ever noticed how safiya walks like a ceo it’s so original she walks with such class 😭
I absolutely love Singapore, my cousin lives there. And im based in Aus. But I love how environmentally minded the city is when expanding and building new things, also the MRT subway is exceptional
Singapore’s subway was the first public transport I’ve ever been on… nothing is ever going to live up to that I fear
I like how you ventured out to the East side of Singapore and not just the touristy central area :) great video I enjoyed watching
Ive been following safiya for a really long time and its so nice to come to a channel that keeps its essence 💕
Ironically, I recently pulled an all nighter while working on a project and had Safiya videos on in the background while I worked. It really helped keep me sane during the process!
Safiyas editors being mindful of the children in the back and blurring them is such a slay👏🏻👏🏻💗💗💗
Well they blurred everyone in the background, as they should. Not that deep, just basic common sense!!
@@Noeifx you say that but SO MANY influencers and content creators don't do it.
@@miciarokiri5182 it should be basic common sense tho
Ahhhh it's my christmas 🎄 present!! Thank you Saf and Tyler and to everyone in the whole team/family behind Saf and Tyler!! Much love yall ❤
I would happily watch Safiya and Tyler travel around the world together, eating, shopping and fishing as they went. ❤ This video definitely made me want to go to Singapore, though if Saf is suffering the heat, I probably stand no chance😅
I’m SOOOOO excited to see your time in Malaysia! Selamat Datang ❤
They actually hosted the singapore premiere of avatar: way of the the water at the cloud dome right next door to the super trees
ran into you guys at the airport & didn’t want to interrupt filming but !!!! was really excited to see you both here earlier this year ❤
I’m new to your channel and I appreciated your vlog. You guys did a lot of research and planning, and were very witty while respectful and open-minded. Loved the off-beat activities like the late night prawning. I’d love to see more of your all-nighter series!
saf’s fever dream prawn fishing while disassociating with katy perry playing in the background was peak comedy 😂 and the infinity pool moment, oh wow😻 also the mega all-in-one mall: my haul would’ve been larger than that 😂😂
I don't understand how staying up all night gets you on the right time schedule, but I'm happy you did it!
Same. I don't understand why they did this (I mean obviously it's a great video and I enjoyed it) but what was the reason for staying up till dawn? Then you go back to your hotel and sleep till...evening? That doesn't make any sense if you're staying there. Only if you're coming back.
@@redshirtwookieeit doesn't make any sense, because you should sleep at Singapore time. It's just a fun idea for a video
I dont think it helps with jet lag. It's merely a fun idea for a video because their home time is opposite Singapore
when i heard you were going to SEA i was hoping it was vietnam. it's a bit of a shame but thank you both for bringing great quality content. hope you guys have a happy and prosperous new year
Safiya about to make everyone in Europe pull an all nighter to watch this video 😭

Italian here. Same, going to bed after watching the video at 1 am
Haha true!!

I would love if you did this in an African country! Examples being; South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, etc! There are so many beautiful countries in Africa that are often either looked down on or just ignored totally. Would love to see you guys on a safari (:
I would love to see that too
Nice sentiment but probably never gonna happen.
@@IAMMEEP so why does that mean it's never gonna happen, sorry?
absolutely love the amount of videos we're getting from safiya lately
I just got back to Sweden after living in Singapore since August so this video made my day!! Wish I would have bumped into you guys :)
safiya is my comfort youtuber, i love her videos so so much
The smile when I saw this notification was massive. So hyped for Singapore and Malaysia vlogs!!!
one city you might want to try an all nighter in is Madrid!
Who else but Safiya and Tyler would spend the night in Singapore and gift us this gem on Christmas? Love it!
It’s always a good day when Safiya posts!!
I'm so happy you're uploading more again! I know on your blog you talked about struggling with your mental health and I hope it's gotten better because you deserve it and your videos have helped me with mine! 💗
It's always so funny to watch people try these southeast asian foods for the 1st time & describing them, while I grew up eating them 😂
I am going to save this video for when I have insomnia. I could feel the jetlag through the screen. What a cool selection of activities!
Aaaand this will be the new entry to my fav comfort videos rotation while I get through the holidays. Love to all! Yayyyyy so happy!
